There are some REALLY cool mage spells in this version.

The one I just saw that I thought was cool (and I don't remember seeing in DFall) was Spell Focus: Strip Armor (I think that's the name anyways). It functions like the regular Strip Armor spell, but it refunds the AP if it hits.

How much spellcrasting does it require? You can alway buy it and give it to the shaman chick to use during the run.

It's pretty high IIRC. I'm not looking at it anymore, and I don't think I'll go that deep into Int-casting anyway.

I've made good progress on a mission using two different etiquettes.

I just decided to do a CC dude since I always do a range dude in SR. The cyberwep thing is good ? Can I use the melee wep special skills with them or do they count as being unarmed ?

I've found running without the Shaman pretty fine and dandy actually; the thing is to use the drone, which is actually insanely strong, to tie up entire groups and have your other party members eradicate them.
That drone, with the upgraded speed boost active, has 5 AP. Once you get the +1AP the rigger can use the speed boost and the + strength/movement boost, which has no cooldown, on the same round as the drone is turned on.
The drone's basic attack has a crit chance of 50%+, at least in my game and specced into melee.

Bonus point, some of the AOE magical abilities don't effect the drone at all.

Rather than posting a huge playable embed and eating up screen space, here's my Shadowrun Hong Kong Let's Play Part 3 if anyone is so... inclined:
https://youtu.be/oeIe_0aZB2g

This episode: Lovely deep conversations and exposition in sewers and subway stations. Duncan pantomime punches a wall. Evidently all the local criminal action happens in a mahjong parlor. All this and more!

Forgot to ask, anyone using the passive totems? Those seem powerful as fuck and since going at least 3 charisma seems like a good idea dumping another 6 for some of those buffs seems like a no brainer. I took the +5% hit and +1 damage but all od them seem extremely good. The most interesting one is the -10% to hit +4 damage.

The +1 move +1 armor totem seems pretty damn good to me for any setup with low range (throwing or lower) and cobra is like a no brain buff for anyone getting a second etiquette, not huge but why not have 5% more acurracy and 1 more dam? The other ones I dunno. Boar is like 1.5 more Body, and -10% to hit is probably good, but I kinda think I'd rather have armor instead and the +move is really quite strong no matter what due to cover etc.

So the spur attacks are:

Spur stun - 1AP 1CD -2dam 2AP dam (and may be more I assume on crits)
eviscerate same as razor
Feint - 1AP 2CD +1 pierce and may do AP
Barrage - 2AP 2CD two hits 4 peirce

I agree with alfons spurs seem worse than razor hands, yeah barrage is better than fray probably but compound attack is only 1AP. Spurs have more specials that can do -AP but hand Razors can naturally do -AP on crits.

The only real question in my mind is how good are Shock Hands + other unarmed things? Can you use shock hands with unarmed weapons?

Cyberware have their own weapon spec with their own special attacks.

This is apparently not entirely universal if you look at the picture posted a few pages back shock hands uses unarmed and close combat. So razors. spurs and whip use the cyber skill for crit which can only ever go to 7 (which is really pretty fine for a crit skill but is something to keep in mind since a troll could get melee or unarmed way higher). Shock hands is kinda like the cyberware version of killing hands although its had -AP on crit, no idea if they stack or whatever.

Been bored as hell so I bought it the first day. There's been a hell of a lot of reading and little combat, but it's generally well-written and I personally find it all really interesting. There are quite a few moments of really good dialogue and interactions. I have this feeling that the inevitable reveal(s) aren't going to live up to the mystery but I guess that's how it goes. It's sort of odd that everyone and their mom will drop bunches of information about themselves if you just casually ask in a shithole that is a shithole precisely because people don't trust each other and all do nasty shit to each other to survive. There are some bugs, nothing major up 'til now other than an incident of what seems to be save game corruption. It didn't set me back too far though and I expect they'll iron out most of the issues eventually.

Alright, time to tab back in.

Happened to me too. I remember that bug in Dragonfall: DC as well, it turned out it was posted already and payment came in after another mission.

I was like "I'm kinda getting annoyed at how contrived this is" thing for about 30 minutes wondering if these games would stop working on me and there was maybe too much dialog but once it's in the normal, well-paced gameplay loop where you do the mission -> go around shopping and talking -> mission it's great. The missions are probably better than DF. I renew my pledge to buy one of these a year forever

He's in the run about investigsting the Elders' deaths. Is0bel has some backstory there if you bring her, too.

Does this have any significant improvements to the character building/inventory/upgrade system (I only noticed cyberware being talked about)? I didn't play Dragonfall all the way through because I chose the same class as I did in DMS (Rigger), thinking I'd be able to build it better this time but it just ended up being the exact same thing, so it got boring rather quickly.

The restaurant matrix seems to be bugged. I could only enter it once combat had started, and the nodes had placeholder names like Matrix_PayData. I could also not post the paydata.

My game (or at least a particular mission) is completely broken. No way to complete the Misdirection mission. Maybe they patched it, but I wouldn't know since I took the GOG key.

I've been playing for the past 6-8 hours and have seen like 2 or 3 fights. There's a lot of stuff to read.
Takes every opportunity to avoid combat the game throws at you.
Bitches there are too few fights.

Edgetards. Edgetards never change.
