I only played the tutorial and in SP mode. could't find the water magic trainer and gave up... With 70 min played.
You only need a specific trainer for higher level skills, the basic Adventurer trainer will train basic skills in all adventuring skill categories.

Found it. The main problem is that the game freezes, stop working from nothing and my HD usage goes instantly to 100%. It happened two times, during the tutorial, it din't happened but honestly, the game seems cool. Is interesting how seems like low level spells don't require reagents but high level spells do. IMO is better than the Ultima Online system. Where every single spell require reagents.

so you're telling me this thing is actually good
I have been playing this game now for over FIVE YEARS. For me, currently, it's a fun and enjoyable experience. I don't actually expect other people to like it, or maybe they might. I don't give a shit. The Episode 1 content (That includes owning a house, having vendors, a shit ton of content and stuff, of note you CANT even do that in Ultima Online, unless you have a subscription :hahano: ) is completely free to play. Install the game and make up your own mind. I can't do that for you.

But there's ONE thing that has kept me here, the current Development team, Catnip Games, is a teeny tiny group of people that are really tying to just get this game in a better shape. They are good, honest people, and they do want to get this game in a better direction. At release, this game was terrible. Period. As of 2022? Not too bad... It's what I would call in a "decent" state. And that took about 5 years... but, it's still here. One of the bigger issues currently with the game is performance, it just is what is is for now. The team knows this and keep trying to get it at least "better". Currently they are moving the game to the Unity 2021 engine and that might improve things a bit better, but who knows.

Performance aside, the rest of the game just has some Fun Shit to Do™. Go mine some gold, go mine some silver, sell shit, make shit. Kill shit, collect trophies, go fishing, do quest etc... For now, it's a fun and enjoyable experience. But that's just me. YOU would have to give the game a try and find out for yourself.

That said, if you are interested in the game or have some questions, feel free to ask.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'd always wanted to like the game because it does have some nice aspects - e.g. the build system was pretty cool as I recall, and the environments were nice, and from what little I played it seemed like there was some kind of unfolding story. For me, the constant disappointment every time I dipped in throughout the game's development, and once or twice after release, was the clunkiness of the avatar and the feel of controlling it, it never felt at all fluid, the animations were stilted, etc. Has this team tried iterating on that a bit?

Any way to reduce the render distance? It could improve the performance, I played a bit and enjoyed a lot the game but any large city that I enter transforms the game into a powerpoint presentation... Also finally found the advanced trainer for water magic but don't have reagents to cast mid and high tier spells.

I don't know if you have tried the game recently, as in as of 8/27/2022(?) the controls feel fluid enough to me? They were REALLY bad a long time ago. It all seems fairly fluid to me, granted I have been playing a long time.

Oh yeah, the loading of huge towns, and slowness... It is what is is now. That hopefully might get better (or not).

As for reagent's just find a Magic Merchant and buy the reagents?

I've read that this game is very P2W, is that true?
That is completely and utterly false information. The game has a Premium Currency named Crowns of the Obsidians. You CAN purchase them for cash on the website, which goes towards funding the game. You also can find them as rare drops in the game. Currently as of 08/31/2022 36,874 have dropped for players in the game in the last 30 days. You also can kill various Humanoid creatures in the game, that drop gold (and can also rarely drop Crowns of the Obsidians as well) and then buy Crowns of the Obsidians from other Players selling them for gold.

Items in the game, that are purchased with Crowns of the Obsidians (in the in game Crown Shop) are only decorative items. None of them have stats that are in any way Pay to Win, unlike all other MMO games.

It's fucking dead.

Not only did they fuck up patching but they also fucked up their save system. Rolling back to an untainted backup would lose at least a month.

That likely just means they can't go backwards, and need to take the time to fix whatever the release issues are rather than restoring a previous backup. I'm sure it will get fixed.

With that said, who publishes a major release without a viable rollback plan?
