I believe I was comparing Mjoll saying 'YOU SEEM LIKE ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE HERE I CAN TRUST' to the person who is in fact the boss of her hated Dark Brotherhood and Thieves' Guild to Hank confiding stuff about his hunt for Heisenberg to Walt.

The second instrument of the bards lies within this cave.

04.jpg

A pillar of light.

05.jpg

Upon closer inspection it looks like a pile of turd bathed in purple.

06.jpg

Looking up, it seems like the bodies came down from above. Big bad must be up there. My, my, I wish I can levitate.

A journal lies nearby.
07.jpg

08.jpg

09.jpg

Yeah, there's a Big Bad within to be put down.

10.jpg

Halldir's going down.

11.jpg

12.jpg

To keep stamina up in dungeons, I always consume a bottle. It'll work great for 900 seconds. If I'm still in the dungeon after it wears off, I drink another.

13.jpg

Murals of the wall look so familiar. Wasn't this in King Olaf's crypt as well?

14.jpg

Oh.

15.jpg

Not really hiding.

16.jpg

Find another line, seriously.

17.jpg

Heya, too!

18.jpg

Says who?

19.jpg

Draugr joins the party. Say hi to Mr. D.

20.jpg

Boom.

21.jpg

These ghosts are somewhat resistant to normal attacks, but fell down all the same to Dawnguard's nova.

22.jpg

23.jpg

The fear splash is also creating a great crowd control effect.

24.jpg

There goes a runner. Hmmmm. Come here big boy.

With that settled, simple puzzle mechanism ahoy.

25.jpg

See this rotatable pillar, kids?

26.jpg

Match it to the wall facing it.

28.jpg

This is too easy.

29.jpg

C'mon, hit me!

30.jpg

I'll do it first then!

31.jpg

Boom.

32.jpg

What.

33.jpg

And that's the end of Halldir's ambition.

34.jpg

And I got the drum.

Mmm...

03.jpg

Ahh...

04.jpg

Oh.

05.jpg

Back to business.

06.jpg

07.jpg

Yet another dead body at the entrance.

08.jpg

09.jpg

10.jpg

Sad tale.

11.jpg

This place looks awesome. Whoever thinks making a base out of ice caverns with cages and shit?

12.jpg

Spotted a skeleton, they're not as tough as their draugr cousins. And where there's skeletons...

13.jpg

There's necromancers. Soft, soft targets. The thief will have no problem dispatching them at all. Until they get detected and frost-bolted, that is.

14.jpg

15.jpg

As I make my way further inside grisly displays of their sacrificial circle comes into view.
And up ahead, a corridor lined with ice-wave pillars beckons.

16.jpg

Seems like a challenging hurdle, until you realize you can simply remove the soul gems and move on unopposed.

17.jpg

And... there goes her heart with a jolt. The Nightingale is still the best bow in the game so far.

18.jpg

Looks like this is the final chamber.

19.jpg

Necromancer combat routine is pretty terrible. The moment one of their comrades die, they'll raise it. Only to have it killed again by a sneak attack, crumbling it into dust. Then they'll start searching for you, putting up active ward - which drains their mana further.

20.jpg

I got wards too, you know.

21.jpg

Then I pop his mole.

22.jpg

Baka.

23.jpg

Another wasted life. A shame. I grab the last instrument and prepare for the journey back to Solitude.

Solitude, I'm invisible again.
01.jpg

The bard's quest rewards no coin, but provides decent amount of skill points. Each instrument returned it will give you +1 skill progress towards every Mage or Warrior or Thief skills depending on the quest giver.

02.jpg

04.jpg

05.jpg

03.jpg

With that done, I leave the city in a hurry before the guards can arrest me.

06.jpg

To Whiterun!

07.jpg

08.jpg

09.jpg

Perhaps this is a worthwhile quest to undertake.

10.jpg

11.jpg

12.jpg

That settles it then. So I can just travel there and get the sap?

13.jpg

How do I get the sap then?

14.jpg

15.jpg

I'll get it done.

16.jpg

Later...

17.jpg

It's night. Witches are about. I better take them out fast and quiet.

18.jpg

There's one. She saw me. Too late.

19.jpg

20.jpg

Another one.

21.jpg

There's the Hagraven... Now, they're good spellcasters but their armor is abysmal as their human counterparts. So no problems here. One orcish allow, charged with the Nightingale's 45 elemental damage will send its soul to Sithis.

22.jpg

23.jpg

Problem solved.

Alright, I'll be back with the sap.

03.jpg

04.jpg

My journey starts from Windhelm. I head southwards.

05.jpg

Where the landscape gets warmer.

06.jpg

The Eldergleam Sanctuary is a cave littered with a wild array of faunas. I think I'll pick some herbs after I'm done.

07.jpg

08.jpg

Nice place.

09.jpg

There's even some pilgrims about. Now what's so dangerous about this place?

10.jpg

Yeah. That's the tree? The Eldergleam?

11.jpg

12.jpg

I've got it right here.

13.jpg

I just need the sap. Don't worry, I'm not here to kill it.

14.jpg

She's right though, giant roots block my path up to the tree. I draw the Nettlebane.

15.jpg

As I make a small cut on the giant roots, it rises up and opens a path for me.

16.jpg

17.jpg

Sorry, this is gonna sting a bit. I made a small cut and make my way down.

18.jpg

Only to be ambushed by a spriggan.

19.jpg

Looks like you're angry.

20.jpg

Play nice.

21.jpg

The poor pilgrims were slaughtered.

22.jpg

These spriggans will pay for what they've done.
I brushed off the guilty pangs before making way back to Whiterun.

23.jpg

There's no tangible reward from helping Danica restore the Eldergleam, but she will now provide Master training on Restoration Magic. It's one of the best magic tree - just not very offensive in a sense.

Later at the Bannered Mare...

24.jpg

Oh noes, I dropped the nettlebane... aah forgive me Eldergleam... don't wrap that root around me...ahhhh...ahhh.....Eldergleammm.. I ...ooooh.

25.jpg

CAN'T I HAVE SOME PRIVACY?!

But I'm just delivering
As I shopped around the marketplace of Whiterun I noticed that the smithy is actually a woman. I decided to stop by and have a chat about Whiterun.

01.jpg

02.jpg

So you work the smithy here? All day long?

03.jpg

Oh? What is it?

04.jpg

05.jpg

Sure. No problem.

Dragonsreach is probably one of the biggest castles out there in Skyrim. Probably second only to Castle Dour?

06.jpg

They sure look busy. Wonder what's up?

07.jpg

Whoa calm down, I'm just here to deliver the swo-

08.jpg

Yeah, seriously. I can't even say that.

09.jpg

Wait, Jarlness, I'm just here to deliver. Oh to the hells with it - Yeah I was there nearly got my head chopped off when the lizard appeared.

10.jpg

You can't arrest me. Not even Solitude can.

11.jpg

Great. Okay, the Imperials captured Ulfric, and was about to execute him - when the dragon attacked.

12.jpg

I think he's shitting. Or thinking. Or both.

13.jpg

Guys, don't over-react. I've been adventuring for months since that day, no dragons came. What could possibly change that?

14.jpg

15.jpg

No one's listening to me anymore. :(

16.jpg

Yeah, about this sword-

17.jpg

Motherfucker.

18.jpg

Alright, what is it, top hat?

19.jpg

20.jpg

The ruins next to Whiterun? Sure sure.

21.jpg

Yeah, sure fine. No problems. I've got 100% success rate on retrievals. I made a point to pass the sword to the Steward before leaving Dragonsreach for Bleak Falls Barrow.

I spotted the Housecarl instructing her men to head to Riverwood on the way out.

22.jpg

They're over-reacting. Ah well. Bleak Falls, here I come.

Fetch, like a dog.
Bandits. They're so dead.

01.jpg

02.jpg

With my newfound stealth training and marksmanship, the chance of being detected is nearly zilch.

03.jpg

04.jpg

Hm?

05.jpg

Oh boy. Come here you ugly motherfucker.

06.jpg

07.jpg

08.jpg

09.jpg

Too much burrito.

10.jpg

At least it's dead.

11.jpg

No buddy, I blew it up. Now you owe me. Where's that golden claw you stole from Riverwood?

12.jpg

13.jpg

You're the tard here.

14.jpg

Pity, I wanted to fuck him.

15.jpg

I sneaked past all the sleeping draugrs. Why bother killing them all? They're just gonna slow me down. The quicker I get this done, the sooner I get paid.

16.jpg

17.jpg

Course, some chose not to stay asleep and fight.

18.jpg

It's okay, my sword arm needs practice too.

19.jpg

Nuked.

20.jpg

What's a random ice troll doing here? Sigh. Eat this.

21.jpg

Swinging sharp dongs. How quaint.

22.jpg

Would you like some hot sauce with that?

24.jpg

At last, the door to the final chambers appear before me. The claw fits.

23.jpg

25.jpg

There's that drum again...

26.jpg

Every time I look at this glowing runes.. I seem to *know* its meaning. Yet I can't seem to use it.

27.jpg

This one's no different. But no time to ponder, I hear a crack behind me. Someone's waking up.

28.jpg

Go back to sleep, Ted.

29.jpg

30.jpg

That was too easy.

I think Irileth kept getting killed by the dragon, triggering every single one of those game overs.

You are an hero
And that's how I become Dragonborn. By absorbing a dead dragon's body.
Considering the considerable amount of help I needed from the guards and Irileth, I shouldn't travel alone too often.
But for now, let's celebrate. We killed a dragon.

01.jpg

Pair of dark dudes seem to be arguing with the guards.

02.jpg

03.jpg

Something up, gentlemen?

04.jpg

Who are you looking for?

05.jpg

Why?

06.jpg

Doesn't sound like a friendly search party at all. Oh well off to Dragonsreach I go.

07.jpg

08.jpg

It wrecked the watchtower, a few of the guards were killed, but it's dead.

09.jpg

Irileth? What about me?! Your men called me 'Dragonborn!'

10.jpg

When that lizard died, I absorbed something from it. It turned into bones.

11.jpg

The greybeards? Who?

12.jpg

13.jpg

Okay, what do they wa-

14.jpg

Please pull your pants back up.

15.jpg

Yeah I heard. But I thought it's just the Nord way of cheering victory.

16.jpg

So, I'm a hero now, right?

17.jpg

18.jpg

19.jpg

Gee thanks.

20.jpg

I suppose I'll visit these 'greybeards' when I feel like it. But a Thane, eh? Starting to like this city.

21.jpg

Oh hi. You're my housecarl?

22.jpg

So what does being a Thane mean?

23.jpg

I hope you're happy being dragon's bait, Lydia. :smug: Things are going to get worse.
Oh well, let's head to an inn to celebrate our victory.

As I retreat to the comfort of the inn, I recall the Redguard's description and realized that the Bannered Mare's tavern wench actually matches it.

01.jpg

Excuse me, did you know some Alik'r warriors are looking for you?

02.jpg

Huh?

03.jpg

Okay, calm down. I follow her to her room.

04.jpg

Put that down before you get hurt.

05.jpg

Okay, maybe I'll help you. But tell me the whole story.

06.jpg

07.jpg

Okay, suppose I want to help you, what do I do?

08.jpg

You mean I gotta kill all of them?

09.jpg

Where do I find them, I understand that the guards of Whiterun barred their entry so finding them in the city is improbable.

10.jpg

Alright. I'll do it. First thing in the morning.

Later...
A short browse of the marketplace reveals a bargain.
11.jpg

This is perfect for those dragon battles. Now for the Alik'r prisoner.

12.jpg

Yeah, yeah. I decide to approach the prisoner and ask him for directions to Kematu, his leader.

13.jpg

Look just tell me what it'll take for you to spit me his location.

14.jpg

Deal.

15.jpg

16.jpg

Off to Swindler's Den...

New Money in Town
Time to head back after a job well done. My lust is satiated and I helped a fellow woman in need. Like I'm gonna let six pairs of testicle bang her. The nerve.

01.jpg

Oh hello there, a lonely traveler..

02.jpg

What are you selling?

03.jpg

Drug dealers are the worst, now give me everything you got.

04.jpg

You look angry. And for a drug-dealing scum like you, I have a special place for your soul.

05.jpg

06.jpg

The black soul gem glowed brightly. I snatched the six-pack of skoomas from his satchel bag and rode on.

07.jpg

Well, you owe me, sister. Hm. I'm starting to get purse-heavy. Wonder if I should take Jarl Balgruuf's offer for housing...

08.jpg

5,000 gold? That's a steal!

09.jpg

10.jpg

I bought all the furnishings.

11.jpg

This looks promising. No more barrels to stash my goods. I'm living the high life now. Thane of Whiterun.

12.jpg

I pluck the garlic and elven ears hanging from the ceiling. These will go well with my alchemy brew. A few brews later, I step out to greet my neighbors.

13.jpg

Ah? Why are you so obsessed over an old sword?

14.jpg

I assume you know where it is located?

15.jpg

Why hire them when you can have the Thane of Whiterun do it for you?

16.jpg

Deal. Here we go then.

17.jpg

18.jpg

There's the place. This should be over in no time.

Seriously? Is that even possible?
Do you have any dragon mods installed? Cause most popular ones give them homing instant kill abilities. I remember one of them looks like meteor shower, is homing and gets you anywhere, and can one-shot any low level character. Maybe there's some of these buggy abilities slipped into your build?

Hate
01.jpg

02.jpg

Let my enemies fear my magick.
It appears we're done for the day.
Time for a drink and some rumor mongering.
I'm in no rush to head to the Greybeards.

03.jpg

04.jpg

Strange indeed. Perhaps I'll pay the Jarl a visit later.

05.jpg

06.jpg

07.jpg

It would be my pleasure, Jarl Balgruuf.

09.jpg

What a rude child. Your father sent me to speak to you.

10.jpg

Something is definitely wrong with this boy. There's no innocence behind his words. All that pours out from his mouth is pure, vile hatred. Why, child? Why do you hate your father so much? What has he done to you? Was he a Cloaked Figure?

11.jpg

12.jpg

How do you know these things?

13.jpg

14.jpg

15.jpg

Where is this Lady?

16.jpg

Child, where is this door?

17.jpg

I grow uneasy. Someone, or something has implanted such terrible seeds of mistrust in his mind that he can no longer reconcile.

18.jpg

A foul magic is at work methinks. I must find this door and...

19.jpg

I've been waiting for someone more fit to carry out my will.
The child is spirited, but lacks... agency.
Regrettably, I cannot reach your plane so directly.
But I forgive you for not knowing who I am. Few hears my whispers anymore.

Who... are you?

I am Mephala, the Lady of Whispers.
I tug at the web of connections between mortals.
Love, hatred, loyalty, betrayal.

Leave the boy alone. He doesn't deserve this.

Hush. The boy was good at sussing out secrets.
You, I expect to take a more active role.

W-what do you want me to do?

First, you must open this door.
A piece of my power has been locked away behind it, and even my eyes cannot see past the seals.

You...will let me keep this power?

Yes...I'd much rather it be in the hands of an ambitious and talented person such as yourself.
The whole of Whiterun is ripe with paranoia and tensions.
The Jarl's court is right to fear the power I hold behind this door.
The Jarl trusts few, and they will be his undoing.
The dark child knows of what I speak.
Let him guide your path.

Yes...Mistress.

21.jpg

How do I open the door?

22.jpg

23.jpg

Give..me..the..key.

24.jpg

25.jpg

I won't ... fail, Mistress.

26.jpg

27.jpg

28.jpg

The key... yes, the key!!

29.jpg

The power. Give me the power, Mistress.

30.jpg

31.jpg

32.jpg

Mistress...what is this?

33.jpg

Tell me...what to do.

34.jpg

35.jpg

36.jpg

37.jpg

Yes.....I shall.

38.jpg

Lydia, stay.

39.jpg

I must... go.

Still. Not. Enough. Where else can I find more worthy sacrifice? Where?... Wait. Every city in Skyrim has a Hall of the Dead. Its keeper. Should be there.

02.jpg

Yes, I believe in Him. The God of Death. I know him well.

03.jpg

What is it?

04.jpg

05.jpg

I shall put them to rest. Rest assured.

06.jpg

Now you see it...

07.jpg

Now you don't.

08.jpg

Such a small trinket.

09.jpg

Andurs... I need your help. I am very needful tonight. I'm afraid I have no choice but to settle for you. There's no other man out there that I can find. Please. I beg of you. Come with me.
