A lot of the cases it will simply requires some modders to be aware of changes Bethesda made to the world and to account for that; other cases they'll just need to convert files to a more modern format. In the case of SkyUI you'll be waiting on the script extender team to adapt SKSE to the new exe.

The Unofficial Skyrim Patch has been successfully ported over by Arthmoor, Bethesda gave him an early copy to allow this to happen for launch.

So people assuming Bethesda would fix jack shit for Special Edition were right on the money all along. Modders really are fixing their games, for real now.

Yeah why didn't they just integrate this patch into the release?

because its easier to have people fixing stuff for free for them

Can someone tell me why is Skyrim: Special Needs Edition so hideously colorful?
I know the original sometimes went overboard with desaturation, but SE looks almost like Oblivion or particularly distasteful ENB preset.

Skyrim was always meant to be somewhat colorful from what I can see in the concept art. The areas that were meant to be bleak (the northern tundra, windhelm etc.) seem to have kept that same vision in play as well.

Can someone please explain why is everyone so hyped for a bunch of graphical tweaks? This is the most jewish thing I've ever seen.

IMHO the only mod that's truly essential for Skyrim Special Ed. is Live Another Life or a similar, so that you can start the game and check out teh new grafix without having to play through the intro sequence.

There was a quest in vanilla where you communed with the Daedric Lord Peryite by inhaling fumes from a cauldron and getting high - with hallucinations, hypersaturated vibrant colours. A lot of the new material looks just like that.

Also, the DoF is just awful. Overall it looks like the showcase of the same bumbling incompetence as Oblivion's visuals though maybe they are simply embracing the market of tasteless ENBtards. Overall, the difference between FABULOUS! edition and original's sometimes dated and clearly compromising, but almost invariably clever visuals is downright baffling.

Finally, at the awfulness of vanilla combat.
Good luck returning to it after Requiem.

Pretty sure the only reason Beth is doing this is to release Skyrim on current-gen consoles. I don't blame them really -- if the consoletards want to shell out $60 for a five year old game then I would take their money too.

But for us in the master race I don't see anything worth caring about.

It's impressive how much of these youtubers have Skyrim Special Edition and have made videos for it, when you consider that fucking game journalists are forbidden to approach the game still. Impressive.

Interesting (and I had to check) but yes, original Skyrim was not out on XBoxOne or PS4. Makes sense for them to do it though. It's (so far) their best selling game.

The nexus SE site already has 66 mods including alternate start and the unofficial patch. No boob mods yet though. Not that it matters since game is not worth playing until LL gets its shit together.

Also the most important mod for skyrim is the SKSE. So much depends on it I wonder why they didn't try to get the guys ready for day one.
