Yes, give more threads to move and merge to the guy with the thread moving and merging fetish, that'll help
1) merge the Classic, General, jRPG forums into a single cRPG discussion forum (if the game has stats it should be here)
2)enslaveallow the *mods* (and only them) to tag the threads in the cRPG forum with one or more of the following tags: prestigious, papamoleshameful, Jaesun-approved, pre-2000s, jRPG, Turn-Based, Real-Time, party-based, isometric, roguelike.
3) ???
We can already see that setting a fixed year date is not a good approach.
Of course.Yeah, the mods won't give a shit. I can already see the jrpg not being marked TB.
random dude said:All jRPGs are phase-based 'cuz I saw my cousin playing FF7 and it wasn't like in TRU turn-based games.
Like for example Fallout.
People have a preference for genres or platforms, not release dates.
I don't think many people are exclusively interested in "mid-1990s" Rpgs to justify having to hop through two or three pages to check that subforum.
Solution:
1) merge the Classic, General, jRPG forums into a single cRPG discussion forum (if the game has stats it should be here)
I don't see your point, jRPGs threads are few and too far between each other.Solution:

Keep the jrpg trash outside my CRPG discussion forum, kthxbye.
I agree, and that's the point. The purpose of such a forum would be primarily to serve as a niche source of information, not as an active discussion forum.

In other words, creating a subforum knowing it won't see much movement...I understand what you're going for, but I don't see it being useful in practice, the entire forum is a pool of knowledge when you have a search function. Plus, less subforums means more people will check most of them, which means more people will see your thread.
KotCWhy?
My reasoning for only allowing posts to be tagged by mods was that shitposters will shitpost.Kaizoku's idea is nice, but the thread creators themselves should tag their threads.
fake edit: while I was going to try the negation search, it looks like the current tags are not really tags, but thread prefixes instead. However xenforo does have plugins for tags.If the tag filtering system allowed one to easily select multiple tags to filter and their negation
(like TB & !JRPG) it would be useful. Then a area to save/select these searches templates and you'd be set. Though maybe just saving the url in the browser bookmarks would be enough for our resident curmudgeons.
Isn't your fav cRPG a jRPG made by Koei?Keep the jrpg trash outside my CRPG discussion forum, kthxbye.
