BTW thanks for those words, this game is awesome, the engine is genius. Albeit the story could be somewhat better, graphics and combat really make up for it.This is bad idea. JUST PLAY COK ALREADY!

Now all we do is press A on the controller.
damicore said:What's wrong about asking for recommendations or extra clarifications on subjects which are a little unclear in a game? I like to play games with a good knowledge of the rules as that enables for further strategizing.
I read the whole manual, and the adventurer's journal and almost everything I asked AFTER I started playing the game was not in the manual.
I've never played D&D and reading on the computer is pretty bothersome, I'd love to have an actual copy of the manual.

Clockwork Knight said:When trying to save a recently created character, the game bitches about "UNEXPECTED ERROR DURING SAVE 3HALI". A thread in Abandonia says that creating a CoK folder in C: like the .cfg file tells you to will solve the problem, but I don't really want to clutter that folder with game saves, especially because D-Fend makes it all so neat already. Is there another way? I tried changing the path in the .cgf to C:\Users\Me\D-Fend Reloaded\VirtualHD\Champions of Krynn\SAVE, but apparently it doesn't accept folder names with more than 8 characters. DOS is so fucking Dozzy. r00fles!
Erebus said:I think I had that problem once, but I don't remember the details. Are you by any chance using Windows Vista ?
I think people recommend not installing on the program files folder because windows blocks some access there if you don't have admin rights, or something.Clockwork Knight said:Well, I just did what D-Fend told me to and let it install the game in its default "VirtualDrive" folder. I assumed it would make it work somehow

No, Windows 7. In fact, I never had problems installing games in Program Files, even with Vista, so I never got used to installing games in C: / Games. Didn't even think of it until Fowyr gently reminded me.
D-Fend for fags. Just use NC if you want file manager. So, should I have two save folders for CoK (one where D-Fend installed the game, and one in Games/ CoK), or should I just move the SAVE folder to C: / Games / CoK?
[autoexec]
@echo off
SET PATH=Z:\
keyb US 437
mount C "C:\Users\Me\D-FEND~1\VIRTUA~1\"
C:

cd \CHAMPI~1
Z:\config.com -securemode > nul

So I treid to chenge the áth
Just check chapter about saving throws and search spell descriptions for time of casting.Might aswell check the D&D 1st Ed. Player's Handbook but god I hate reading on the computer.
Afair it's 1st edition, also intro do not mention 2nd. 2nd ed Player's Hanbook is fine too and easily findable. Are you sure this game si 1st Ed? I remember I read somewhere this game was a 2nd Ed. one.
Fowyr said:Oh. Don't change anything in dosbox.conf.
Fowyr said:Read how works mount command. Your "c:" in the dosbox is really "C:\Users\Me\D-FEND~1\VIRTUA~1" on your computer.
