Bethesda is so lazy when it comes to the main story quest its same old uncover the mystery plot every single time. How about tell a actual fun story with companions you meet and villians and leave that uncovering the mystery dragonborn whose your dad shit to the side.

Laugh all you want at the Creation Engine, no other dev has come even close to the way you interact with every fucking single thing in the environment in Gamebryo, let alone the CE.
Yeah. Can't wait for the UI notification every 1/8 of a second PRESS E TO PICK UP WORTHLESS PLASTIC DINNER FORK
Mod it further so you can press E to stick it up your ass.

Typical pessimist bitches here, this trailer looks like a breath of fresh air; something ambitious and original in a sea of generic, copy-pasted, pretentious piece of crap dogshit videogames. Tighten up buckaroos, Todd is gonna herald the RPG renaissance in September!
People said the same about Witcher 3, and that sucked.
Everyone here with a potato capable of running Starfield, will run Starfield and play it for several long hours spanning from dozens to hundreds of them. Then they'll come back here and claim they only play it for the porn mods and that the game sucked. It's how it was for Fallout 3, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 4, and how it will be for Starfield too.

Yeah the UI being center of the screen was the worst thing about it, I predict an UI mod that clears out the HUD within day 1 of release.

And remember, Morrowind came out in 2002, it has been more than 21 years and no one has the aptitude or the balls to step up to the Todd. And now we can even climb ladders, LADDERS!! It truly is the future.
This is true but they've yet to draw any real kind of reactivity from it. I've done all kinds of weird challenge runs of Fo3 and Skyrim and had a lot of fun exploring the possibilities of the games, but ultimately the freedom offered by Gamebryo/Creation still amounts to "we'll let you fuck around and maybe find some exploits or glitches if you want, but we expect you to play this as a boring shooter and have designed everything with only that in mind".

If they could find a way to harness the actual emergent gameplay potential in the engine then Bethesda would easily be king of the AAA devs. All it'd take is a few clever AI tricks (being able to throw shit to distract guards or whatever) and more freeform quest design.

Maybe in comparison to the rest of the current gaming world, we live in an era where Todd Howards new edition of Creation engine is the most exciting and fresh thing.
God i love gaming.

Oh i actually dont laugh at it, there is probably a branch of dev industry that specialises in working on that engine, born and breed in their modder tubes until ready to serve lord Todd, its a deal good both for Bethesda who have endless supply of fresh blood and modders that can easily transfer their knowledge to new game generation and use it to gain real jobs.
I cant deny that Bethesda has the best modding support amongst all current AAA devs but you cant deny that their games are practically a modding platforms that people buy only to mod the shit out of them ( probably mostly for porn and trying to remake older TES generation on them).
But i have to give this to Todd, Starfield looks like the most interesting thing from Bethesda since a long time.

Those requirements will be slashed in half after two weeks when the first mod comes out that removes the three million inviisble copies of a rock mesh that Todd accidentally left under every single surface in the game.
