Prediction: there will be crashes and bugs like crazy and you will have to redownload 125GB patches each time.

It's either Skyrim in space or FO76 in space. With a touch more LGBT propaganda.

Good trailer, but hard pass.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Trailer was actually pretty good, and after seeing the Avowed trailer, it looks ten times better than it actually is. Still, anyone excited is a fool and a sheep. The combat will be shit, and I don't see any universe where Bethesda manages to make a project where the writing/story isn't anything better than below average.

Saw some cool stuff, saw some meh stuff, overall what I expected at this stage. A little bit of predictability is quite welcome in this day and age, and I look forward to helping another settlement in...

P.S. God, is that UI gonna need some righteous modding!

Just look at all these pathetic consumers in this thread. Showing interest in a new game for no other reason than it being a new game.

There are decades worth of better games behind you that you can pick up and play at any time, no internet connection required. No DLC bullshit to deal with or day one patches. But you'd rather wade against the grain while worshipping the developers and publishers like they are gods. All because they served you up a new plate of undercooked SLOP.

It's just fun to meme on Bethesda, bro. It's not that serious.

And i bet that you will be among them man :-D
Sure, man. I'll be playing Starfield on my Dell M4800 laptop and my Xbox 360.
So that is your problem, have no fear mate. You just have to put them under your pillow and wait until glorious Starfield premiere, by then you should have a great potato capable of playing new Todd game.
All of Todd games
Only Todd games
Just Skyrim

Haven't had time to watch the thing yet, so excuse my ignorance if any of this has been answered. So probably level-scaling and mostly procedurally generated game world? I want a good sci-fi first person RPG as the next guy, but if the above is true, why exactly are so many codexers getting hyped about this?

I'm not sure if they touched on level-scaling but the planets seem to be procgen or at least randomized. I would expect vast tracts of empty land broken up only by rando landmarks.

There's only one reason reason to be hype about any modern Bethesda game and that's because it is a platform for modding, and eventually, an actual good game might come out of the mods. If it doesn't, then I kid you not, Bethesda is still singlehandedly responsible for a large % of the porn game scene, especially on loverslab. I don't see that changing unless they made it difficult to mod or something.

Nobody really gives a shit about Starfield's characters and Constellation, or artifacts and background lore. No joke, No Man's Sky already did all that and I don't have any faith that Bethesda will do it better.

Talking to IGN about framerate on Xbox Series X & S, Todd Howard said...

“I think it'll come as no surprise, given our previous games, what we go for,” Howard said. “Always these huge, open worlds, fully dynamic, hyper detail where anything can happen. And we do want to do that. It's 4K in the X. It's 1440 on the S. We do lock it at 30, because we want that fidelity, we want all that stuff. We don't want to sacrifice any of it.

“Fortunately in this one, we've got it running great. It's often running way above that. Sometimes it's 60. But on the consoles, we do lock it because we prefer the consistency, where you're not even thinking about it.

Large swathes of forum users are decline enablers and chronic consoomers. It's been a slow and steady process.

they have save all the processing power for the hyper detailed "anything can happen" gameplay systems, like uhhh....the NPC giving you a randomly generated quest to go get the [classified documents] from [haunted space station]

Who are these many codexers? I count 3 people who seem genuinely excited or mostly positive (SDG does not count, he is not human). A giant like Bethesda releases a gameplay reveal for their next game and it only gets a few pages in 7 hours. Everyone else seems as skeptical as I feel. Just nod and smile to whatever Todd says and wait to see what the reality is in a few months and then start deciding whether or not a purchase is in order.
