The Bethesda jank also extends to music and sound.

Music rarely fits the situation, it's seeming just random shit playing and the sound volume is all over the place. Sometimes it's so loud you can barely make out dialogue, sometimes the volume is so low that you barely notice that there is music.

When there is crowd panic because of shooting or some shit it's not even localized yelling and screaming, it's just some distant "yelling crowd" sound effect playing in the background.

It's almost like they don't give a shit. There is a distinct lack of care and attention to detail.

game is shit but I can't stop playing
I feel the same every 2-3 weeks of new Path of Exile league
sad but this is the path Bethesda is going with this, they're making it a looter shooter.

I guess us MMO and ARPG players are their target audience because this is the most fun I've had playing a game since Cyberpunk released, and Starfield is a lot better.

I think Factorio players will like it too.

Starfield music is definition of modern orchestral garbage.

Lack of Jeremy Soul (due to metoo shit) is easily seen here. For all Betsheda wrongs Jeremy would always make magical tunes to their games that would sooth your anger at idiot design and just walking around and exploring was fun and here there is nothing some typical modern orchestral BLEEEHHH

I am still finishing my PoE run for this league but gamepass also offered me Everspace2 so now I am thinking of playing that until first round of patching for Starfield is over.

all the terrain is randomly re-generated when you re-visit a planet. Wouldn't it make more sense to generate it once and re-use so the landscape doesn't change all the time? Weird.
No, because that takes up space.

What would make sense, and was solved by Elite on the Atari 2600, was that a given planet (with a fixed identifier like name, etc) and co-ordinate on that planet, always produces the same result. This is procgen 101.

Give them some slack. They just managed to include vaulting. I am sure they will figure out RNG seeding in the next 15-20 years.

Dunno I think I am gonna take a breat until CK is out and game is modded

As is it's like playing CP2077. Pretty pointless game moving from point A to B and mowing down mobs with ARPG loot while spamming heal and getting some flavor text. It's pretty much the exact same game but SF feels worse because the "empty filed with space base/cave" littered on instead of coherrent area.

This game is basically Mass Effect 1 and CP2077 worst aspects combined together

I'm kinda stunned that this isn't how they're doing it. So easy... And they wouldn't have had players bitching about how the second they leave, the area gets wiped – it'd feel like they can actually explore a whole planet if they land enough times.

I'm really in awe at how much Bethesda fucked up with this one lmao.

Brings me back to the Oblivion days and the Codex outrage at how shit the game was, except this time it is the mainstream normies that are raging while Codexers are actually slurping this slop. Fancy that.
given that oblivion realistically could have only been compared to morrowind at the time and that's it, the screeching at its early game sections was ridiculous and whoever's engaged in it back in the day was simply unfair and whoever does so today offers an anachronistic argument which doesn't hold water
early game oblivion, in my mind at the very least, was far more enticing that morrowind's getting off a boat and walking around the dreary seyda neen, the map opened up super slow and funnelled you towards balmora
oblivion perhaps overplayed the imperial city, sure, otherwise it was a lovely run for a while

Btw, Has anyone tested shooting in a low-gravity planet like the moon?
Because if I remember my physics lessons properly, the recoil gets increasingly worse as the gravity plumets.
Also it is supposed to propulse the player backward.

they also took from TWO and Alien.

CP2077's problem was the fact that it was an unfinished game with a good prologue but a short and rushed main quest. Some side-quests are great but the jobs are fucking garbage. Another big problem was the fact that the map felt empty.
Witcher 3 did the huge map thing much better. The initial idea of the game: with you starting as a detective who investigates a cyberpshychosis murder was much more interesting than what we got. As much as i like Keanu getting him and expanding his role was not a good idea. His role was suposed to be a larger side-quest and that's all. The whole cip in your head that kills you slowly stuff is retarded since the sense of urgency is not there. You are reminded of it when you advance the main quest. They are doing the same mistake now with Idris Elba wasting a lot of money that could have been alocated to adding more content and mechanics to the main game.

The only thing going for TW3 is the fact that the environment is VERY different. Overall it's pretty much empty world with repetitive content but the fact that major areas looks distinct enough is good enough saving grace. It gets old real fast too. CP2077 is either same metropolis or slum for dozens of hours with exact same enemy (rainbow clothed gangs for 70% of the game, police/military/corpo who looks similar for the rest 30%) just detroy the illusion of open world faster.

TW 3 also has the benefit of better combat system compared to "just shoot" that CP2077 (and Starfield) has.

Starfield now has it worse because exploration is "walk around bareen land/tropical land for hours to find the next space stations with 20 enemies you mow down (or not and come back later.... to what? random loot for the boss NPC?). And those space stations are series of room/corridor that has no significant "story" to them. Hell I would take FO4 terminal mini story compared to this where most space stations are empty.

Compared to say, Skyrim/Oblivion ro FO3/4 where there are passing thought at least to put something interesting or at least making the dungeon follows interesting route. The space stations in SF so far is like Mass Effect space station.

It really feels like a 90s DOS game that got reincarnated into the modern world, except they forgot to put in any handcrafted content in and got fixated on shooting rather than trading.

When I was playing it the other day I did this longish? side quest that involved fighting in a base, flying to the other side of the planet to kill the enemies who attacked that base, then taking to space to destroying the ships of the base attackers untill finally returning to the base to fight off a last wave.
Its unlikely that i'm going to get a quest more complex than this I reckon.

Another thing ill say is that it sure is an iteration on the mechanics implemented in Fallout 4, and they sure fit this setting better than a irradiated wasteland.

There are some parts where the game seems to have a nice idea. Outpost, the crew not being faceless shits, more expanded core companions. These are all part of FO4 popular mods expanded in SF.

Too bad the main frame of the game is very dreadful right now. Bethesda basically has something they at least must think they are decent at (e,g, semi handcrafted content, even for linear dungeons since Morrowing to FO4(didnt play 76)) and throw it all away by doing this proc gen planet + essentially radiant quest those space sandbox game has (Like Starsector, etc).

Trying to make CP2077/Mass Effect 1/NMS all at once just pretty doesn't gell all that well

by the way starfield has pronouns, in case you didn't know.

but, it's just at the very end of character creation when you enter your name, you can select between he, she, they. That's pretty much all I've seen. Didn't see it being referenced in game either, feels like an afterthought and just to please the trannies tbh
it's a Bethesda game, mods will fix it
that's going to be one of the first mods I'm going to install tbh
shlongs of starfield?
