Apparently this leak was real:

Lots of you jokers out there, go larp somewhere else or actually try hard and dont post fake shit.

general stuff:
-Game starts with you "choosing" your location. aka you do not start at the same planet or station everytime you start a new game. it dependz on various things
-flyable space ships with space combat (missiles, lazers, gatling guns)
-ship cuztomization
-choose from a base model of a ship and from there on out you can swap things like engines, weapons, cargo, whatever. you can also make cosmetic changes, pretty much change the whole ship. Think of it like power armour in Fallout 4
-Nova Galactic is one of the manufacturer. They offer 3 different base models (exploration, cargo, gunboat). Axion Energy offers 2 (mining, cargo), Argos has 1 (science and exploration).
-Full weapon and armour customization like in Fallout 4
-armour is layered again like in Fallout
-gravitiy changes depending on where you are (Planet, Moon, Space, Station). Wildlife looks more bulkier on planets/moons with higher gravity and sleeker on planets/moons with lower gravity. It is very science based so that all of it "makes sense". Still some wacky stuff but thats to be expected.
-Gravity is a new "mechanic" in Starfield, since havok is now gone and has been replaced in-house. For example you can turn off gravity in a ship or a station and everything that isnt attached to a surface starts floating around (Prey?).

-Anti-gravity exists and no its not by centrifugal force. bitch we in the 2320's
-intelligent life exists alltough it will be part of the main story's mystery. consider every sort of "alien" to be 99% primitive lifeforms (like Ashta or non-violent species)
-planets, yes there will be multiple, dozens even. Planets, moons, asteroids and other stations.
-each planet is bigger than skyrim's map with negative space inbetween every handcrafted location. would be fuckn stupid to let the player fly around in your ship when theres no actual distance between each place.
-procedual tech used between locations, now works and looks much better than in any of the previous games. you sometimes wont even notice it. theres radiant AI stuff now built into this aswell as other stuff. its no longer just a "brush tool" to paint areas, it can do much more. Sadly wont be part of CK
-settlement building returns. this time much improved. early on in the game you'll get a quest to build a colony on a planet, you can decide to head there straight from the beginning of the game or just leave it on the side and do it later (like usual its completely optional stuff). The quest basically acts as a tutorial to explain the player how settlement building works. its its own questline with multiple tutorials showing you different things...and some lore attached to it so it actually makes sense why you're building a colony there. The dude giving you this quest is named Branson Garvey...
-throughout the systems you can offer refugees and other people to start a new life in your colony. once they're there they will start setting up shops and if you build a landing pad traders aswell as new colonists will come visit your colony. Theres much more to talk about that stuff since itll be one of the biggest marketing selling points for this game. If you have more questions feel free to ask. Once you completed the first tutorial quest you can start building a colony pretty much on every planet/moon.

lore/story stuff:
-ships use warp tech to go from one place to another and helium 3 fuel for regular combustion engines when you want to manually fly your ship
-graviton field loop array is the warp drive, yeah...thats the name, sounds like shit imo
-Earth is a shithole (even more so than now), you cannot land there but you can go to all the other places in our star system.
-Theres a City on Mars called Cydonia. One of the bigger urban locations in the game since it was the first place in Starfields universe that got colonized. All other colonies/cities are pretty young still.
-2 major pirate organizations: Black Fleet and Crimson Fleet. They are in war with each other, you can join either of them or destroy both by joining Vanguard, a security force within the United Colonies, kinda like FBI/CIA who deal only with the heavy shiet. There's also a few other pirate groups but mostly non-organized pirates without a special name or something
-In Kryx System there's an asteroid belt around a brown dwarf with a pirate city built into one of the asteroids. It is a neutral place for all the pirate organizations and groups where the player can go and join one of the 2. There's also another ship manufacturer which you can unlock later on should you choose to become a real pirate.
-There is a cult faction who believe that Jesus/God came from the stars and are looking for his real birthplace. You can join them.
-main story revolves around that alien structure thing you saw in the trailer. You are on a mission to find clues which are hidden across various star systems and planets in order to understand how to activate it. Each clue leads to a bigger clue which then gives you a piece of the "puzzle". Until you have all and can activate the machine. (spoiler: its a wormhole to another galaxy where "The Builders" come from.)

Why the fuck would anyone expect this not to be a action game? Skyrim was a decade ago, it was their biggest hit, and they've shown no signs of leaving that praticular style of game behind in their other work in the ten years since Skyrim came out.

I agree that this is no RPG and the dialog is what it is (big surprise there).
I am actually surprised. Skyrim features some very solid dialog e.g. the entire beginning of the game starting with the Stormcloak rebel's melancholic monologue during what he expects to be his final moments. Also if you side with him and go home with him and he meets his relatives and the whole dialog between them.. that is some good writing. I really liked it.

Now overall the writing quality in Skyrim varies quite a bit but I wouldn't attach the "bad, cringy writing" label to it.

These people are literally mad because it's possible to create a black character in a fucking character creator. They inhabit the stereotype of the cartoonishly racist gamer.

The natural consequence of a group of people weaponizing race and ethnicity to use as an ideological bludgeon with which to batter their political opponents. It breeds resentment. It's why the Leftist obsession with grievance archeology and racial grifting is so malicious, veiled as benevolence as it is. They turned skin color and gender into their weapons and it is thoroughly evil.

I'm suprise how there's mention no about how the dialogue system going to work on leak and the new footage. Is going to be voiced or not, more skill checks than just charisma, etc.

Skyrim is not an action game, because it does not require fast reaction speed and hand-eye coordination (and neither does Fallout 4 if you use VATS). Just because a game is real-time does not mean it is an action game. I mean, otherwise Dwarf Fortress would be an action game

So Bethesda DID change the formula here.

I'm sorry what did you fags expect from Bethesda? The fact you expected anything makes me doubt your intelligence (or at least taste) in the first place and not just hammering on you, I am talking to everyone posting about this shit. You are why good RPG's are pushed aside for trash like this. All of you cry and cry about shit RPG's then you pile in this shit thread to examine the facts on the fly covered shit. Disgusting.

I didn't expect anything. I just enjoy shitting on pink hairs and their retarded faggy ideology. The more they try to force their views on me the more hostile I shall become!

I will continue purchasing games with sexy white gals. Mmhmm.

Notice how they didn't show one crucial thing about this kind of game, the transition between land and space. It just cut to space flight and combat without showing how that will work.

I think I am the only human being that enjoyed MAKO in ME1 and I'm getting some similar feelings, maybe even from Elite Dangerous. On the other hand I almost vomit when the char started to mine Ore like a NMS / survival game. I just can't stand it, hopefully is mostly optional.

I was about to comment something about it, the game really does seem to lack...idea? Theme? It's just 'Next big Action RPG by Bethesda, in Space.' It hasn't got even the tenth of Skyrim's advertising power. No extremely memorable trailer like Skyrim, no marketable feature like Dragons or even clearly known 'snow people' characteristics like horned helmets etc.

This game is extremely mismanaged PR wise. Yes, there is gameplay, trailer, people are talking about it...but it doesn't grip. It's just RPG in space. No great idea behind it. It's bland. Nothing to talk about. No space leviathans to shot at, big bad to fight, mysterious secret to uncover...There is literally zero personality to this game. Even Mass Effect Andromeda did it right with clear 'Exploration/Colonization of New Galactic' theme.

Seriously, now that I've noticed it's baffling how bad it is. This might severely impact the sales, why aren't they advertising it?

Maybe because Cyberpunk's debacle? You know, hyping a game to absurd levels.

Environments look cool, faces look nice graphically and animation-wise but they only showed mutts.. maybe it's a realistic vision of the future...
I guess the "hardcore RPG" promises they were making were a straight up lie. Forced settlement system again, didn't show any dialog choices, barebones traits and perks, bad writing from the sound of it, Fallout 4 action gameplay now with space battles and.. mining? And the 1000 planets must be somewhat procedurally generated or empty. Gives me No Man's Sky vibes...
So it's more ambitious Fallout 4 in space without destroying a beloved franchise. Could be worse : P

Also... they still have double barrel shotguns in 2330??

Ideally, all people know that space is the place and also the best setting that doesn't need extra hooks to sell it.

On the matter at hand though, I'm surprised at those still holding out hope it'll be good, considering homo sapiens is pretty good at pattern recognition and the gameplay trailer pretty much revealed the game is gonna be pure unadulterated shit.

But hey, at least it's a new IP and not wearing the corpse of a venerable game series so maybe it'll not be a net negative to pirate it. Remains to be seen.

I have to admit, as uninspiring as the plot is, I already like it better than their last several games.

2008 "It's your dad! You care because it's your dad! Go find your dad."
2011 "There's a big dragon! You gotta level up and kill a dragon."
2015 "It's your kid! You care because it's your kid! Go find your kid."
2023 "There's a thing, and nobody knows what it is. Go find out what it is."

It's not good .... but honestly it's the least bad.

Also, people probably mentioned it before, but did they really think it was a good idea to frontload the trailer with resource gathering and a gunfight with braindead pirates, and then Todd talking?

Is that... exciting? I genuinely don't know why they put something so mundane at the forefront of their video.

It looks so boring and ugly...as expected. And it will still run like shit and need top cards that are now 300k$

Any of you believing Bethesda can make a fun shooter probably think that crap in Fallout 4 was fun lol

Because there is no space. Space is load screen between planets lel
