That's a lot of promises, hope they can actually achieve all that. Will look forward to with interest, plus base game is free.

The kickstarter campaign is gonna make a ton of money, so best of luck to these guys.

It fits perfectly same niche SC tries to fill aka flight simmers. This will make truckload of money like SC.

Looks like there is no atmospheric flight for the moment.
Good looking game nevertheless.

I watched this and I don't get the appeal. I see a completely bland "spaceship" (more like a moving box) with windows. That's it. Zero game-play. Zero anything. Calling it a "tech demo" would be a stretch. People didn't learn from Star Citizen before dumping more cash into hot air?

Why does the avatar during character creation always have eyes that look like two piss holes in the snow? In other words, stewed to the gills. Doesn't mean it's a bad game though. I like the uniformity of the panels, buttons and switches. In the future, things should look simpler not more complicated, befitting a society that probably won't even be able to read a paper map anymore, just GPS panels implanted into their two piss holes in the snow..

Ambitious to say the least but... It does sound interesting. Biggest question for me is the actual gameplay beyond just exploring. That gets old quickly when procedural content is implemented. Didn't No Man's Sky fail at this type of "gameplay"? Not a fan of procedural anything but that is inevitable with the scope of their project.

It did when it first came out, but they've added a WHOLE lot since then. There's crashed ships now, including larger ships. The smaller ones you can reclaim and fix with the right materials. They've added way more building options. They added player owned capitol ships. There's space derelicts and ground locations which are there to add a somewhat dungeon exploration thing. While they were adding all that, they expanded the core game as well.

isn't it a copyright infrignment lawsuit waiting to happen?
It's not called Star Trek, nor does it feature any IP related to Star Trek. It's at best an homage. Much like that shitty series The Orville, or patrician's choice Galaxy Quest.

No Man's Sky is still a vacuous walking simulator and all the DLC merely adds tedious grind islands with little thought put into it. The game isn't "fixed" because it fundamentally can't be. It's inherently shallow, pretentious, and lazily made for the reddit crowd such as yourself.

It's a niche game for people who want to roleplay being a crew member aboard a star ship with mechanics to support that. Be an engineer looking through Jeffries Tubes for that one faulty wire, be security and job to the alien of the week, be the captain and explore the galaxy getting into diplomacy, fighting, spreading STDs, and what not. Looking at it like a space sim is a mistake. It's not a Space Sim like Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen. It does what it says on the tin. It's a Starship Simulator. It's essentially a spiritual and lawyer friendly successor to the old RPGX mod for Star Trek: Voyager: Elite Force which covered the same niche of a multiplayer simulation of being a crewmember on a Starship. Or a more indepth version of SS13 without a traitor mechanic. If you want a space sim this game won't be for you.

all the DLC
You say that as if the content is something you have to buy. It's not, they've just been adding stuff to the game and releasing it for free in patches.
Yes and that free DLC is functionally worthless grind islands that have bloated the game. Hence why they're free and No Man's Sky is still a shitty game.
