That video looks like epic Clone Wars battle, I don't see the problem.

I don't understand. Is the problem with the obv poor performance? What laptop is that guy playing on?

Or is it that Imperial is dominating or something? We all know all the Kool Kids play Imperial, so duh.

Besides, if you're really playing this game for PvP you're doing it wrong anyway.

Crispy the poor performance is more likely due to the shitty engine. I have a decent enough desktop computer and I lag* even with only 10+ people around me - and I think most other people do too.

I mean they even removed HD textures in 1.0 because their engine was shit and it lagged even on good computers.

edit: *lagged, I mean. I obviously don't play anymore.

Oh, I know all that. I finally got my spaceship the other night (I'm going very slowly in this game, waiting for them to patch the performance problems), and I was shocked how stuttery it was when just standing in the ship's corridors.

I have a very powerful gaming rig and the thing was jittery as hell. It wouldn't drop below 59fps, though -- that's the weird thing about it. But it makes it so irritating.

Yep. I normally never jump on the bandwagon with all the "lol engine shitty perfomance bad programmers dumb" but this game is giving me serious itches. I have a powerful gaming rig, and I run most games at full noticing at worst a little lag. This game runs like a car with sand in its engines. Framerates are crap, textures take ages to load. I have zounds of small graphical errors (people being miniature, eyes missing in conversations, animations lagging, shadows pixelating, stuff like that).

Some glorious thinker at Bioware had the great idea that loading assets and creating a new big file was the way to go. Because all hard-disks like writing files while reading, as we know.

I knew Bioware would die ever since they decided making a KOTOR 3 was too "mainstream"

Then again I liked KOTOR 2 and would have rather have had Obsidian get time to make 3 and maybe mkake their first non buggy game ever.

I mean who the fuck wants romances in a MMO? Then again who the fuck plays MMO's?

Arrived at my mailbox today: (I was a beta tester and for obvious reasons didn't bought the game)

Thank you for helping to make Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ one of the most successful MMO launches to date. For a limited time only, to honor our first players, we will be granting the exclusive "Founder" title to qualifying accounts*, which will apply to all of your in-game characters. This title will not be available to any new players after 3/18/2012.
I sense much despair in them. :smug:

I haven’t been following this in a while, but can it be already considered as a total failure?
Or is it just the codex and 4chan trolling?

Most MMO are launched in bad state and get improved over time, but BioWare and their fan-base still thinks that most TOR issues are features...it turned out to be a MMO focused on single-player story, a huge & empty LARP simulator.

normally mmo success depends on the first few big updates, but i find it more and more likely that tor will fail despite having lots of potential and not being as bad as a lot of other mmos, simply because bioware are displaying the same kind of hubris as stardock when they made elemental.
