Agreed. I'm glad I held off on pre-ordering until respected Codex representatives got their hands on it at Gamescom!

:hype: :troll:

I didn't think any of those reports could be taken as an encouragement to actually pre-order one of these games. If that was unclear, I think Infinitron or Crooked Bee could add a warning message to each report mentioning that I don't recommend pre-ordering anything ever.

You can't weasel your way out of this.

5E is a good system. Its not the best thing ever but it is easily my favorite DnD edition. What a shame that in the midst of the cRPG incline with such a grand rpg system, WoTC/Hasbro decides we need crap like SCL. What a squandered opportunity.
Well, I still prefer 3E('s main forks), but there's stuff that 5E does better, so it's my second favorite D&D edition, but I haven't actually played P&P in years, so... Oh, that statement actually isn't quite true anymore, as I've been GM'ing a rather heavily modified Aborea for most of my nieces. (An okay German-only system; nothing spectacularly good or bad. I can't stand Dungeonslayers, and all other TRPGs I know of are either too complex for the youngest, not fantasy enough/too sci-fi for the oldest, too simple for me, not available in German (for all of them) or (most often) several of these.)
And I was surprised Hasbro could even be bothered to care enough about D&D to finally let someone make a CRPG again. Now, who it was that didn't recognize the incline and the potential benefits of following it instead of making something D&D in name only, I couldn't possibly say. Maybe some ill-informed Hasbro marketing suit drew a line in the sand despite them obviously having little to no financial stake in it, but it's just as likely that WotC and/or n-space were simply too scared not to follow the mainstream goldrush like lemmings.

My contribution to Steam whining (c/p here because I have a feeling it might get deleted) :D :
Only huge potential it has is to steal more monies from the people pockets.
As soon as I saw they are charging extra so you get extra dungeon tiles and monsters I knew this was a cash grab and not a normal game.

Only crooked and greedy company can charge extra to people who are going to be creating FREE content for everyone else (and probably running it).

Even that crapy MMO Neverwinter had REWARDS for people that made content in their dungeon maker, even them understood who is going to prolong the life time of the game and keep people still buying the game.
When people behind the game don't understand this basic things, the game has no chance to be done well.

And people who will defend them, you deserve to lose money. Oh btw, I got some superduper ice cubes with DnD logo for sale. They don't last long at room temperature but are cool while they last. Just send me a mail at Itakeyourmonies@crook.scl

Sure i get it, you dont like it. neither do i tbh, but multiplayer sells.

Multiplayer sells but it's not as exciting as it was 15 years ago. World of Warcraft still sells, but it's slowly creeping into f2p territory. MOst major mmos from the last decade had adopted a p2w scheme. Everquest isn't even here anymore, at least compared to when it was a life changing phenomenon. Ultima Online is still held in life support by EA, which is surprising, but I doubt people play it as they did in the 90s. Other than that, it's a realm of cookie cutter mmos and mobas. But you know what kind of people plays those.

I did not pre order anything, i had it on wish list to follow it cause after reading your report it sounded super fun for multi , it raised some interest. But then i was gifted it as its well known i am fan of D&D. Two fatal steps, a far too friendly report, then a scam trailer that makes people think its a D&D game and BG spiritual successor.
Gift cant be refunded same if you bought from the dev store
Its also possible you got a completely different build . If thats the same thing you seen you should have told people already its horse shit and to not bother with it at all.

There's no maybe or perhaps, its complete shit and taking the crown from the like of oblivion or ultima 9 nothing less.

Nope, multiplayer DMing still looks fun to me.

Who is publishing this? Is it Hasbto/WotC?

Licensed from Hasbro/WotC, published with Digital Extremes (Warframe):

n-Space is developing the game, concept to completion. We also bring to the table a strong partnership with Wizards of the Coast and the Dungeons & Dragons team. Digital Extremes is providing a portion of the funding, along with the skills and experience they have garnered publishing and supporting Warframe, which boasts over 14 million players worldwide.

5e is the best selling PhB in DnD history.
No, it was the best selling on Amazon. Where it was sold for $20 off, artificially inflating its sales ranking and fucking over local game stores in the process. And considering that the last PHB that wasn't abject shit was released in 2003...

No point discussing it then , it doesnt take much to satisfy you.

If you think the reports are bad, you really don't have to read them. As for my posts, the ignore button still works fine.

Generally speaking, the best way to deal with Gamescom coverage that you deem to be of low quality is to go to Gamescom yourself; DU will pay for it.

Both of my local game stores sold out of their initial shipment of 30 books each, and have sold an average of 10 PHBs, 5 DMGs and 5 MM a month. Minis sell out frequently, Out of the Abyss completely sold its 20 copies sent to each store on the first day. There are three seperate encounter times for one store, and two for the other. DnD Merchandise, books, and more are moving steadily off of store shelves while Pathfinder shit sits unwanted. 5e is a hit. Nobody was "fucked over."

Seems people still play pathfinder more http://www.myth-weavers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=141, of course its just a sample but 5E is only third on list.

Keep telling yourself that, fanboy. If 5e was a hit, WotC's D&D division would have more than six employees right now, and they'd be making something other than web articles. The only books they have on the way are adventure paths and that sword coast book, and even those are being outsourced to other companies. 5e is already dead.

Hasbro obviously don't want D&D competing with their shitty yet lucrative magical card games. That's why they are boycotting and sabotaging D&D in general and 5e in particular. It's STILL the best edition out there, in my HUMBLE opinion.

I think you're right. Hasbro wants to pretend that they have a currently-supported D&D edition, but they don't want people to actually play it. And they're shooting themselves in the foot, because they fail to realize that it's not the 70s and there are other RPGs on the market.

Cool story brah.

but
BF4genKEYART.jpg
did not sell because of its single player component
Neither did
call-of-duty.jpg

or even
FIFA_16_cover.jpg

You are talking about games that are showing their age, of course they will start to die eventually, its what happens in mainstream.

Also multiplayer gets old? fucking please, thats like saying PnP gets old. It only does if the people playing it are shit. The reason MMos are flopping nowadays is that they have become about the single player experience, the lack of impact other players have on how you experience the game is what makes them banal shit boring and why most people quit a couple weeks into the game.
