I don't recall having an issue going BG1EE->SoD->BG2EE with character import
You can transfer from BG1 to BG2 at any time. BG2 lets you select any valid BG1 (Or SoD) save to import your character from. For all the game cares you can make a level 1 character in candlekeep and immediately import the save into BG2 to start with that level 1 character there. Obviously BG2 still assumes you finished BG1 though plot and difficulty-wise.
Wouldn't be hard at all, the way XP per level scales you'd just need to get out of the starting dungeon and your first quest XP hit will get you like 5 levels.
Also you always only import your player character, no companions, and BG2 companions only scale up from the normal starting BG2 experience level, not down.
Though if you play BG1 in multiplayer you might be able to import a whole level 1 party into BG2, and play the whole series IWD-style. Haven't tried that.

Yeah, I was thinking about the whole party consisting only of 1 levelers. Having just a CHAR be 1 level would mean that during a few first quests the party would carry him through, which would be only a very minor handicap. 1 levelers would struggle to complete most quests, but after they get a few done, they should catch up with level curve. I guess the most optimal way would be to ignore major combat quests and metagame your way to getting easy quest exp. Which is boring.

Scroll scribing would be faster - even just one mage would catapult the party's level.
My way is to play some Watcher's Keep as soon as I reach certain levels, to grab some nice loot and fight some difficult battles.Last 3 pages made me reinstall after 8 year long detox. Kurwa.
I did a solo F/M/T run previously, starting from BG1, but got burned out hard after completing the Spellhold-Underdark loop (ToB, you piece of shit, I never get to play you, and I don't even like you that much).
Only thing that I remember from the run was that Bodhi's hunting parties in Spellhold were borked in my mod setup. As I played heavily towards the Mage side, I had to rest to regen spells, so I inevitably triggered a bunch of vampire hunting parties. One of the spawns caused a 100% reproducible crash that I couldn't bypass, so I had to edit a python script with 0 python XP and fiddle with Near Infinity to make the fix. Oh, and the vampires were shamelessly and ridiculously op, probably cause of a stupid mod combo on my part, so even when the game was not crashing, it still was a challenge, to say the least.
Good times
why don't wizards use wisdom?Rusty, this has already been talked to death, go necro a few other BG thred, even I remember a poll wher you have to vote for your favorite romance between the divine spellcaster elf chick, the divine spellcaster elf chick and the divine spellcaster elf chick
The most perfect quirky free spirit Neera doesn't count?why are all the bg2 romances priests?

why are all the bg2 romances priests?
I have never thought about that before but it seems accurate, why are the Romance options all priests like Viconia? Is that true and if so why?Rusty, this has already been talked to death, go necro a few other BG thred, even I remember a poll where you have to vote for your favorite romance between the divine spellcaster elf chick, the divine spellcaster elf chick and the divine spellcaster elf chick
I can only speak on behalf of myself but we dont look for Romance in games because its not RL, I think we all know the difference between a fantasy game and RL?Why do grown men look for romance in computer games?

The only romance I ever did (in any videogame, actually) was Jaheira in BG2, because I incorrectly assumed that the Harper's quest depended on romancing her, and I wasn't certainly going to give up the aforementioned items. So I put up with the tsundere almost each playthrough, just to be able to use her ass as a proxy for lightning bolts (and a few extra mid-to-high level wizard spells). Why do grown men look for romance in computer games?
You can get the ring without romancing her, but not the pin.The only romance I ever did (in any videogame, actually) was Jaheira in BG2, because I incorrectly assumed that the Harper's quest depended on romancing her, and I wasn't certainly going to give up the aforementioned items. But after acquiring very little wisdom at a very high price over the years, I came to realise that you can get both pin and ring without romancing her, so: no, there's no reason for grown men to look for romance in computer games.
I see pickpocketing muh bro Lavok as cheating, I'd never do that. Besides, doesn't Lavok have the low-level spell ring? You can get the ring without romancing her, but not the pin.The only romance I ever did (in any videogame, actually) was Jaheira in BG2, because I incorrectly assumed that the Harper's quest depended on romancing her, and I wasn't certainly going to give up the aforementioned items. Besides, the ring is not exactly "wow!", simply because you can pickpocket Lavok, and get the better ring twice.
