The free movement better be good because I hate grid based movement with a passion.
Free movement? The sneak peek shot looks more than suitable for grid-based movement (or it's a good indication that level designers are retards). The free movement better be good because I hate grid based movement with a passion.

Players aren’t forced to keep to 90-degree angles during exploration - they can unhinge themselves from the grid and stretch their necks in all the ways contemporary first-person games have taught us to expect. But InXile’s environments will be designed at severe right angles, in accordance with the limitations they’ve set themselves.
“The grid does force us to design it a certain way,” said Fargo. “There’s a pureness to it, and a quick understanding of things which is nice. When I’m exploring a world that’s more structured, it’s easier for me to put it together in my head.”
So it's basically grid-based with optional free movement, huh.
As long as there's karaoke again
Hilarious. The Bard of course was overcome with sympathy for the poor deceased young man.
Egh. I don't know what I was expecting, but I'm not a fan of Gaelic music.![]()
I wonder if custom soundtracking might be a thing.
Fargo: You’ll be wandering around in this first person mode, and you can either be snapped to a grid, moving ten feet at a time, or click off the grid and wander around more freely. We really get the best of both worlds there.
Still awaiting Crooked Bee's reaction...![]()
Maybe, but I just find it dull. What!! Gaelic music is the best folk music in the world.Egh. I don't know what I was expecting, but I'm not a fan of Gaelic music.![]()
I know, I know. What did I expect? I guess I didn't really think about it at all. But to me no music screams GENERIC FANTASY like Gaelic folk. And who wouldn't expect Gaelic music from Bard's Tale?
Again, it would be nifty if we could substitute our own mp3s, wouldn't it? I don't even know what I would use...
It's a blobber, you heretic. First person or gtfo.
Blobber = first person combat. There is no room for impurities.
Very mushy and ugly textures. Decent for Unity 5. Very generic for UE4. Fine for a low budget game I guess.
Nice. The developer will use photogrammetry to create in-game 3D objects from photos of architecture
