Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
So they may even get less that WL2

Maybe, a lot can happen in 38 days and they might have something impressive planned for the critical final days that WL2 didn't have

As things are now they are geared for two millions, unless Fargo has something really special prepared for the last three days.
By the way I am curious to see how they will manage the middle part of the campaign, maintaining a steady flow of pledges in that meantime is very hard.

That flashy art "Unreal man" bling video has run out of gas.
They might have shot themselves in the foot setting the "art" bar so high.
The gamers have got a taste and you know what happens when you downgrade.

I won't back it as I prefer the old school Blobber art "2D sprites ".
**** progress.

It is very slow going, but i suspect inXile and Fargo expected that. Or at least expected this one to be more difficult to sell, plus the fact that KS isnt the money generating machine it once was.

I thought this last aspect was expertly handled by HBS, with a low initial goal, small achievable stretch goals and total transparency about the product and it's limitations. I think their HK campaign was flawless.

I have no doubt Fargo cs are as capable as HBS, KS strategy wise. They will need some stellar updates though. It will be interesting.

@Darth Trethon We're a little quiet today for a few reasons (none of them directly related to BT4), but we'll be rearing to go into next week.

I think it's reasonable that they don't add stretchgoals at this point. Not only would it seem arrogant, but it probably wouldn't push the campaign over the edge either. Also the average pledge amount is already at 43$. Quite high, basically full retail price.

Guys, weekend are always slow on Kickstarter, stretch goals will be revealed when they get funded, and they will be very conservative in my opinion.

Hi guys, just to clear up some confusion below - we do not currently have plans to bring The Bard's Tale IV to consoles. That doesn't mean we are ruling them out forever, but right now we are focused totally on delivering a great PC experience.

:greatjob:

The Bard's Tale Enhanced Edition for PS4 and XBOX ONE!!!!

That said, at least they do full PC development first.

The template has been laid with WL2. PC players will fund and beta-test the game. The "great PC experience" will be finished at the same time as the console release. Then we'll feel grateful that we don't have to pay again for the finished version. Fargo must love this system. Genius. :salute:

Weekend is now, and during the past 2 days it has already slowed down to 20.000$ per day. Now if it becomes even slower....
:negative:

With that pace we'll approximately reach funding goal within 10 days. The undeniable truth comes out... only 25.000 blobber fans in the world left.

Would you rather "outsource" beta-testing to consoletards and they play games build around their feedback?

I look forward to discussing whether the game's corridor-y level design is because it's a dungeon crawler or because of console limitations.

Even WL2 ended up with $48 average.

only 25.000 blobber fans in the world left.
By the end of the campaign they'll probably have about 60k backers which isn't so bad for such a niche project. With WL2 they could do some Fallout name-dropping but dungeon crawl is practically a dead subgenre so it's harder to attract people who weren't around 30 years ago. They could at least mention Legend of Grimrock but they didn't.

The template has been laid with WL2.

The continued existence of that template depends on WL2 console sales. I have my doubts they'll sell enough copies to make it worth the trouble to port future games.
Console kiddies will buy anything man

Even if it's good? Man, those console kiddies have outperformed themselves! Those tastes are so low and shitty that they stopped caring about buying shitty shit for masses(now buying only shit for masses is considered a sign of snobism) and started buying everything even if among everything are decent titles! It's a new low! So low we can consider it an art!

And I thank god they didn't. Any reason to think it won't be like that disappontment is reason to rejoice as far as I'm concerned.

Bought them both, couldnt finish them. As much as i like the concept and some of the puzzles, the rt combat just kills the game for me. Still, players who like LoG may also like BT, so somehow reaching out to them may be good marketing. As long as inxile is transparent about the game, and clearly labels it tb.

Don't know why you have to be rude, man. Every console gamer I know buys every release with more than a basic effort at hype. The same people playing Twitcher 3 atm also bought Dragon Age, and are planning on getting batman and other shit too. Plenty have told me they're pumped for wasteland 2 as well.

Yeap "hype" can sell crap to a console gamer (marketing makes up half your budget). Also at my work I can talk to a lot of "main stream" gamers and a lot of them don't complete games. They will buy them and maybe get 20%-40% into the game before moving on.

This is the reason why mobile gamming has exploded as well (after the golden age died). Tapping on a screen that has some shiny shit on it passes for a amazing game play experience.

When someone mentions "SALES" as a benchmark for a quality game :negative:.
High Sales on rubbish shows the decline of humanity.

Project: Eternity Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
I don't want to sound pessimistic, but this campaign is doing shit. It did 10-20/day in the last 2 days. With this momentum, it will barely reach 2 million. I hope Fargo expected it and they don't really care. I also hope that they are doing this just for getting some extra buck (like Larian did with DOS), and most of the funding is secured from the W2 profit.

Hey all,

Thanks for all your comments! It’s been a bit rough after our video on Thursday. Brian’s best friend and mentor passed away recently, and he and some of the team attended his funeral on Friday. One of our other leads fell sick late during the week as well, but now we're up and back in action.

We’ve been keeping an eye on all your feedback, and listening regarding topics you'd want to hear more on. The video was received extremely positively, but it also raised some questions for some of you. Brian is planning to put out an update on Monday, and will be going into more detail on the video and the game itself.

And you can help us: Leave a comment letting us know what points you'd most like to address, and we’ll get to as many of them as we can!

Thanks,
Thomas Beekers
