“The difficulty in understanding the Slav is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Slav than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Slav has no regard for human life and is an all out son of a bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.”

don't look up what the design lead 'worked' on
Rebel Wolves' company website. Feel free to dig up EVERYTHING about Devs. Art Lead, Quest Lead and Director of Witcher 3 are among them, all of them also worked on Witcher 1 and 2, and also worked on scrapped, closer to tabletop, first iteration of Cyberpunk

First thing they name drop: Fallout 2. Witcher 1-3 Devs in Lead roles gather and start studio. Thus: Rebel Wolves

Ah yes, Fallout 2, the most Action-y of RPGs.
As a Dev, I would ALWAYS take seriously your opinions on RPGs. I would NEVER take most of you seriously as people. People like you are called in my country: sveznajuće pijanice ispred seoske prodavnice. All-knowing wise drunkards in front of village general store. Describes half of internet perfectly

Has the troon who co-founded Rebel Wolves left the company for good? He's not listed on their website right now, and his Linkedin shows that he stopped being a Co-Owner/Animation Director at Rebel Wolves in June 2024. But did he sold his shares in the company and has been completely quarantined from any involvement with the game, or will he still be involved on a B2B basis with his animation company?

Very important to settle this matter, even slight troon involvement is a death touch for any game.

I would be more forgiving to the trailer if the humans were some rogue mercenaries pillaging under pretense of helping contain the plague. Making a lord comically evil by going personally supervising killing everyone including children just seems forced.
IDK, the lord's actions made reasonable sense. Killing all plague victims to prevent its spread might be a bit extreme, but is well within the mindset of the period.

No one would come anywhere close to a plague victim to stab them with a sword - "miasmas" and "vapours" were commonly believed to be the main spread vector of plague. So while the idea that people would be forcefully quarantined is perfectly fine, the execution of it is pants-on-head retarded.

Yeah, the modus operandi was quarantining, not exterminating. Not least because almost no disease has 100% mortality rate, meaning at least some among the sick would eventually get better even if left untreated. So long as the sick stay put somewhere, there's really no reason to massacre them save for cartoon villainry.

He was, but that would still be considered an immense risk he didn't have to take, except to show he deserved to be eaten alive.

The scene really would have worked better if the soldiers were shown to be afraid, attempting to shoot the kid from a distance, instead of getting personal with a plague victim covered in open sores.

There's a healthy balance to be struck. Treating it as if it is most certainly going to be the best game ever isn't necessarily wise but neither is dismissing it outright.

It looks promising enough and personally I don't care if a game is somewhat 'janky' so long as it is fun to play, relatively immersive and not infested with progressive ideology at every turn.

We only need to look at any given disaster taking place in the real world to see cartoon villainy on full display. If the game is truly committed to nuance and grey morality over black and white depictions of such at every turn then there will likely be more reasonable individuals trying to treat the plague. Others will seek to exploit it to try and rule through fear - but we saw that play out during the 'pandemic' a few years back and that was focused around a far more minor and less lethal disease.

No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't. It would be a lot more believable to show the persecution being about the accusation of spreading the plague deliberately, like poisoning the well or something similar. I never heard of sick children being executed in order to stop the spread of a disease, that is just modern grimderpness.

Once again, just a few years back we had a not insignificant chunk of the population suggesting that anyone who did not want to partake of experimental vaccines should be locked up in encampments or outright killed.

It's not much of a stretch to believe that if such individuals gained more power that they would turn their seething hatred on children and infants.

We already see it on many fronts in the current day. Each time some dysgenic freak murders a kid there are more dysgenic freaks crawling out of the woodwork to ask what the infant did to provoke such an act. Meanwhile those responsible for the atrocity are given light sentences or conveniently branded 'insane' to evade meaningful charges.
