As usual, I haven't played any of the nominees for goty or rpgoty.
The only games on the list I've played are Loop Hero (indie) and Evil Genius 2: World Domination (sim/strategy).

Calling a game published by a company with their own E3 presentation an indie game is pretty brave, and so is calling EG2 a good game.

Deathloop is absolutely the best game on that list in all the categories it was nominated for except score and sound design.
How /pol/cucks can throw the immersive sim genre under the bus to seethe in an overreaction to "identity politics" is beyond me.

Even the codexers who weren't repulsed by it said it was just average.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
I'm shocked they mentioned Team Spirit. Those guys went home with 18 million dollars. I guess that's how you catch mainstream attention.

On the other hand, I'm no longer shocked that the RPG section is just for show. It is clear they do not know what they're doing anymore. I am... 1% triggered at the best score section for not mentioning WOTR's score. Say what you will about the game, but the score is amazing.

In any case, standard mainstream bullshit at its finest.

Owlcat must be seething that they were snubbed for that lineup. Two Bandai Namco mediocrities but not them.

My negative assessment of Deathloop came when I saw a gameplay video showcasing its extremely awful AI.

An average immersive sim is still an immersive sim meaning still better than practically everything ever released. Death of the Outsider didn't deserve the politically-motivated overreaction and neither does Deathloop.

Didn't come across any of that in my playthrough and that was day one on PC where the only thing I encountered was a memory leak in one of the zones. The AI was comparable to any of the Dishonored games or Prey from what I could tell and now there's a patch that improved the AI further.

Day one issues aside, it's one of the best games of the year and one of Arkane's best overall.
