Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
The Wrath of the righteous snub does really seem intentional. I know it was disappointing to a lot of Codexers, but regardless of that it’s certainly on par or better than the games that did get nominated.

The Game Awards as an event has never really been intended for that sort of game. It's like how there's a certain recognizable type of movie that's often called "Oscar bait". Wrath of the Righteous isn't that.

Deathloop is just plain boring.
I know zero about this game and see a ton of hype around it. Is it a game made by and for black people?
It's old school console in its premise i.e. you have to kill a number of people and have a limited number of lives to do it; if you lose your lives, you start over. Time passes whenever you load another area and if you don't kill everyone you're required to within the time limit, you start over. No quicksaving or loading to a previous save (unless you're manually backing them up). In order to make casuals/normies/journos not rage quit over this, there's only one difficulty level and most enemies are brain dead (see video posted, though they have allegedly improved it) so it is not old school console at all when it comes to difficulty. The main character is a black guy because Black Panther made a billion dollars, proving that predominantly white audiences won't avoid something just because it has a black main character. Journos like it for these reasons.

I truly believe that game journos are in campaign mode for Deathloop because they want to save Arkane from being shut down.

It's PC-exclusive, I think the only other PC-exclusive games on the entire list are indie games.

The Game Awards has never really been intended for that sort of game. It's how like there's a certain type of movie that that's often called "Oscar bait".

2014:
Dragon Age: Inquisition – BioWare
Bravely Default – Silicon Studio and Square Enix
Dark Souls II – FromSoftware
Divinity: Original Sin – Larian Studios
South Park: The Stick of Truth – Obsidian Entertainment and South Park Digital Studios
2015:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – CD Projekt Red
Bloodborne – FromSoftware
Fallout 4 – Bethesda Game Studios
Pillars of Eternity – Obsidian Entertainment
Undertale – Toby Fox
2016:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine – CD Projekt Red
Dark Souls III – FromSoftware
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Eidos Montréal
World of Warcraft: Legion – Blizzard Entertainment
Xenoblade Chronicles X – Monolith Soft
2017:
Persona 5 – P-Studio/Atlus
Divinity: Original Sin II – Larian Studios
Final Fantasy XV – Square Enix
Nier: Automata – PlatinumGames/Square Enix
South Park: The Fractured But Whole – Ubisoft San Francisco/Ubisoft
2018:
Monster Hunter: World – Capcomdouble-dagger
Dragon Quest XI – Square Enix
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – Level-5/Bandai Namco Entertainment
Octopath Traveler – Square Enix/Acquire/Nintendo
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire – Obsidian Entertainment
2019:
Disco Elysium – ZA/UMdouble-dagger
Final Fantasy XIV – Square Enix
Kingdom Hearts III – Square Enix
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – Capcom
The Outer Worlds – Obsidian Entertainment/Private Division
2020:
Final Fantasy VII Remake – Square Enixdouble-dagger
Genshin Impact – miHoYo
Persona 5 Royal – Atlus/Sega
Wasteland 3 – inXile Entertainment/Deep Silver
Yakuza: Like a Dragon – Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio/Sega

A snub is a snub. Owlcat isn't cool enough to join the club, when even Obsidian, inXile and Larian can make it.

Yeah imagine giving the woke crowd exactly what they want and still getting snubbed. I'm sure they'll learn their lesson. :D

Who am I kidding, they'll just go even further in their next game to appease them.

WotR is just too small and niche for Dorito Pope to care. It has less than 30 reviews on Metacritic.

People say WotR is niche but its steam peak player number is more than Deathloop and It Takes Two combined. I think it's just the journals being oblivious, as they always are.

WOTR was left out since it has neither a console version/Coop/big publisher/famous IP. So not a whole lot of journalists have not played or at least heard of it so it wasn't nominated.

Though Elden Ring releases next year so BG3 has no chance to win RPG or Game of the Year next year either, spoor Swen.

Ratchet and Clank is the true GOTY, it's "riveting"

I mean sure, but wasteland 3 got in and I'm pretty sure that is just as janky. I guess it has a bigger publisher behind it, but still.

Journalists see a deep 100 hour experience and go "wow, there's no way I'll recoup the time/money it takes to play and review that from clicks" and then run for the hills.

Contra such short, shallow games like SMT 5 or Monster Hunter? Pretty much every single nominee in the RPG category requires considerable time investment.

Disco Elysium qualified for none of those in 2019 (didn't even get a console version until this year) and it was not only nominated but won in 2019. :M The judge panel must hate Russia or have an axe to grind against Pathfinder.

It's an honor NOT to be nominated for Game Awards. Imagine the name of your game being ranked among such turds as Dragon Age Inquisition and Last of Us 2.

These are the only awards that matter, and they will go to Pathfinder this year, as well:

Based Ruskies don't care about creepy Geoff, it's the RPG crowd that matters. :obviously:

And Wrath does absolutely not deserve them.

An average immersive sim is still an immersive sim

Please, just stop using that bullshit term. It's retarded and says really little about the games in question. How exactly are games like Deus Ex or Ss2 more immersive then say...Ultima Underworld or Daggerfall, anyway? I don't care how long this term has been used, it was stupid from day 1 and needs to die.

Is it a game made by and for black people?

It's made by white cucks, and it's for lazy casuals and game journalists.

It's a term coined by Looking Glass devs in reference to a specific design philosophy. Ultima Underworld is also an immersive sim.
