For someone who seems less than enamored with the game you certainly spend a lot of time playing it. M:

After 150 hours or so playing everything turn to shit i guess :) . I stopped after a while too, did not even bother with halloween, had my money worth but it lack of purpose after so many hours , probably why they will add a gear upgrade system, theres no reward except a few skins and while i dont really feel the grind when leveling up to 80 , doing the same instances over and over again is too much grind for me just to get a few skins . Who's looking at me anyway ? Who?

The Big Brother, man. Don't you want to look good for your Big Brother?

Also, on topic of upgrades, where's the new gear sold? I've not had a chance to check this weekend so far, is it with the rest of gear vendors? The one inside the instance sold bags and back slot items.

There are no new gears set yet.
They want to do gradual enraging of the World v World crowd.
It's not like the backpack is easy to attain with the ungodly amount of token it'll take to accomplish it.

Huh, how?

Edit: To my understanding (though I might be wrong here), the only big upgrade to new gear would be resistance from a new condition called Agony, that's only applied to players in new content? If so, then it's basically (but not exactly) same shit as Radiance in LotRO, except, hopefully, less annoying and less mandatory. I hated Radiance/Gloom.

Didn't you hear, Legendary will be upped to the Ascended damage level when the Ascended Weapon / Armor goes live? They did up the damage when the Lost Shore update went live, but changed their minds and reversed it back.
What the World v World players hate is being knocked off the 'max exotic spot'. And not for one second I believe A.net claims that 'World v World' reward will eventually include Ascended gear.
The amount of badges it would require would be stupid retarded that only a bunch of jobless World v World players can afford it.

Hence we have a situation where the only reasonable way to gain ascended shit is Fractal drops. It could be tokens or forge mats to craft the Ascended Backpack.
And with the Fractal progression being capped at the group member's lowest level of completion...you better hope you've done Fractal up to certain level before being left in the dust and ditched by groups you usually run with.

Right now? I'm just farming gold to sell off to my guildmates. :smug:
They buffed the dungeon boss drop on silvers, making Omnomberry Bars a worthwhile investment.
10 silver per boss turns into 14.

I am not expecting anything from the wvw either, the "rewards" require an absurd amount of badges , the stats arent even the one i need, and you can (could rather) find them with the right stats for a few gold only on AH . Above exotic stuff in wvw? keep dreaming and if they add them, they wont have the stats for my builds .Anyway with players able to hop from server to servers, that wvw makes absolutely no sense . I better start fractal too then, i think you are right with the left int he dust part, its already the case for dungeons, i dont see how new players will do story modes .

Only FDS 10+ will drop Ascended weapon.
Yes, It's not a typo. Only Fractal Difficulty Scale level 10 will have a chance at dropping Ascended Gear.
Guild chat is full of 'LF2M Fractal lvl 9' etc.
While the ones get left behind are left to fend for themselves.
What a nice community arena.net is building.

I was kinda hoping to try out the new content. Then I realized the new area was level 80 and even fighting one enemy with my level 45 character was too taxing to bother with for long. :(

Also alt+tabbing while standing directly under a waypoint and then coming back to find yourself dead with no enemies in sight never gets old. Not.

You poor dude, you.
I tried that with level 50 and got owned too.
Turns out they weren't level 80. They're level 80++
Did you attend the SUPER DUPER ONCE IN A LIFE TIME EXPERIENCE?

Imagine this:
A 3 hour long event that gives nothing if you drop out at any stage.
Zerging crabs. Crabs. And nothing but crabs across the map.
Three. Fucking. Hours.
I had a laugh with my guild mates who attended the same event as me.
We stopped giving a fuck and just stayed back as the zerg clean up and get facerolled by the spinning boss mechanic.
Swooped in at the final stage and got the chest reward of 20 slot bag, exotic earring and random junk.

Another guildie got into an overflow and excitedly invited everyone to collect a second chest with their alt. Yours truly got in, ramming the boss at full speed at 50% and bam. The whole server crashed. Cue Skyfall theme and Mumble voice chat full of rage and singaporean expletives.

Servers are crashing entirely now? That's hilarious. Did they just drop the A-team that made the GW1 engine and leave everything to the interns?

It was less that and more they tried to pair an event that got everyone online with an event that got everyone's friends online for a trial, along with that you had a new dungeon, and the fact that servers are still full this far after launch, especially during prime time when this took place. They basically just got DDoSed. Honestly the best thing I can compare it to is when AQ launched. And I think they'll take the same lessons that Blizz took from their attempt at massive server wide events. Either A: Don't do said events. Or B: Make them so spread out it's not going to stress the servers too bad.

How can you sell such a game to trial user :?
Do they really think the trial users would enjoy themselves in this Jormag zerg fest that endured for 3 hours?
And the best joke is completing the jumping puzzles at level 30 and getting level 30 loot. Me and my partner, both mesmers were just collecting 10 silver for every portal we made to help those lesser beings get up. They kept whispering us 'Please don't log off, help us up D:' :smug:

I also love the admittance by one of the devs that they had TWO designers to balance the over 500 profession abilities that needed reviewing and apply the fixes. Ultimate Butthurt Multiplier engaged.

Now everyone is just saying 'No wonder you sucked at fixing shit, you didn't hire enough people.'

EDIT: Just discovered that Fractal Difficulty Scale is locked per character. Say goodbye to your alts, faggots.

You would be surprised at how few people gaming companies actually have working, especially MMO companies. For some reason there is a perception that every such company has a huge number of support staff available at all hours, an experienced crack development team that can address issues immediately, etc. In reality it's much more likely to be one or two people handling half the duties, unless of course you're Blizzard. Of course, it's an illusion that's positive to maintain.

I'd half expect the company to hire one designer per profession to evaluate their abilities.
Is this too much to ask? Or am I simply expecting too much?

Last night mini-guild rage drama culminates into one of the idiots remarking 'But this game is Free, so what do you expect?'
Couldn't resist and fire off a parting shot 'Of course it is, since your mom bought it for you...'
Butthurt ensues.

Designers shouldn't be in charge of bug fixes in the first place. That should be a handed off to a whole 'nother group (coder/tester department). But then I'm not sure what you mean by "designer". To me that means specifically balancer, for which you really only need one dedicated person. Maybe one for PvP and one for PvE, but lol PvE balance.

Certainly shouldn't separate balancers to one class each or anything like that. That has the effect of basically forcing them into being a class cheerleader instead of seeing the big picture. Playing each and every class is a part of the job.

I duno bro, look here for exact quote:

There are >500 skills in this game, 480 traits, and 2 designers working on this. Even then often we are bottle necked by other issues. I’m not going to say we are not working on these things, nor can I say there are things we could have changed but just ran out of time on, but this was a patch that contained ranger improvements and it will not be the last one that does so. Maybe you want more than honesty but that is what I currently have to offer.
