Some extremely impressive facial mocap, but killing Joel for cheap muh feels doesn't do it for me. Joel & Ellie's relationship is the core of TLoU. DLC of the first game was complete shit, felt like i was playing some teenager drama.
Killing him off falls into the predictability trap and him getting overwhelmed by 3 teenagers just isn't that believable, for a guy who stormed a military base solo in the first game. Shock value for shock value's sake.
Rockstar did it better.

Game will probably have a >90 meta score.

Also I dno, their "Diverse Coalition" seems somewhat pissed off about this, it's not only Perturbed Pablo:

They might change their mind till/after release, but so far they don't seem to be enjoying what they did to "their boy Joel" and that they have to play as a ?Mysterious Roided Up Lady Built Like A Fridge Of Questionable Pronoun? to beat the little girl they spent the first game protecting black & blue.

Game is fighting with 7R for #1 spot in Amazon's top selling PS4 games. Seems like the spoilers didn't ruin it for the vast majority of people.
That doesn't really mean much, "PS4 Bestseller on Amazon" can be outside of the Top100 Best Sellers in the video games category:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/videogames/6427831011/
https://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames/
At the moment Final Fantasy VII: Remake is at #32 being beat by Animal Crossing, Heavily discounted Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Dead Space 3 and Minecraft. TLOU2 is at #67 right before Mass Effect: Andromeda, being also outsold by Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Xbox and Mario Kart 8/Xenoblade Chronicles on Switch and wasn't even in the Top100 when all those Damage Control articles were written:
https://www.vg247.com/2020/05/04/the-last-of-us-part-2-amazon-top-seller-leaks/
https://www.psu.com/news/the-last-of-us-part-2-is-best-seller-on-amazon-despite-recent-leaks/

I'm not saying this won't sell millions of copies, it likely will since it's like one of two or three AAA Exclusive titles remaining for the starved PS4 console plebs to wrap up this console generation, although it'll remain to be seen if it's as successful as the first part. I'm saying "Wow this is doing so great because it's near the top of the PS4 Bestsellers on Amazon" doesn't necessarily follow and is bad logic.

You can't praise PS:T as the second coming of christ and then turn around and shit on TLoU because it's a movie game when it has more gameplay than PS:T

My favorite part of Planescape: Torment is all the choice-free dialogue and canned takedown animations.

Yeah i think people misunderstand that shit gameplay on Torment doesn't mean lack of interactivity. Torment has undeveloped combat (or encounter design rather) but the game still offers ton of choices and interactivity through the dialog trees, so you are not passively reading text the way those modern "cinematic" games are about passively watching pre-rendered footage that will play out the same no matter what you do.

What about them? Adventure games have puzzles, so they are highly interactive as well.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
That is some serious trailer bait setting up for disappointment if the leaks are true (and I don't see why it wouldn't).

No idea, never played it. My hunch is that it isn't though, knowing modern gayming trend.
