PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
In my experience, I don't play the games I pirate more than ~10 hours, because I usually pirate only shit. In the rare cases I've liked a game I'd pirated, I've bought it afterwards.

Most of the time however, I've deleted them without playing or after playing very little.

If I didn't know better, I would thought disco elysium have already came out and being proved to be the greatest RPG ever made and make fallout 1 and 2 looks like fallout 4 when comparing to it. What does it has anything to do with outer worlds again? Why are some people here constantly bring it up for no reason?

Disco Elysium is apparently going to be the Planescape:Torment of this gen and it's most inclined and best rpg game of 2019 , so they need to make clearly to anyone that now The Outer Worlds is going to be objectively trash and that Obsidian is total decline compared to Disco and also gonna make a huge hit to TOW sales...

Well , at least that's what i got seeing the circlejerk hype of Disco here in Codex.

Which are definition of storyfag game, Arcanum and Vtmb had shit gameplay, those games were saved by story and reactivity.

Besides story and reactivity, Arcanum has awesome character customization and insane freedom in how you make your build.

Although combat wasn't a strong point, I still point it enjoyable (in Bloodlines also).

PS:T had little to no (meaningful) character choices (be a fighter or lose tons of XP) and combat was atrocious (thanks, Feargus), so only had a good story and nice graphics going for it.
I will always prefer combat, character customization and freedom over a rail-roaded story, though. Just make a cool world with a decent story and I'll imagine the rest from there.

I, too, like to grind Curst for hours on end.
Curst? The real action is in Undersigil. I have fond memories of level grinding there with a mage using Cloudkill. It was kind of funny to max out all your stats halfway through the game.

Arcanum and humour.....
:abyssgazer:
The fuck am i reading??? The game was all about dark shit like genocide, mass sex slavery and brutal rape, race cleansing and fucking war. I don't remember one fucking funny thing in the game. Fuck, your first side quest is about priest punishing a bunch of thieves that killed his whole family, with an endless agony. And that is why it is so memorable!
:shredder:

I am fucking surprised at how many people haven't even played Arcanum! Infi ban them all! Such casual retards shouldn't be allowed on the codex!

Boyarsky or Cain said that TOW is inspired by Arcanum. I wonder if you could play some other way than just as gunslinger.
Arcanum has mages. I dunno if they will go that far.
We won't see another Arcanum....well never. It is the best rpg ever made. Assassinating pig farmers while accompanied by a bunch of dikes is hardly Arcanum level of world building and writing.

No, they didn't.

Tim said that he used idea from his notebook that he keeps around since Troika for Outer Worlds (like flaws), none of them ever said its inspired by Arcanum apart from concept design/writing similiarities that are automatically there since its a Cainarsky game.

The elf that gives you an elaborate snipe hunt to learn the location of Tulia is a joke to some degree.

Sheesh. Arcanum has tons of humour in it. It's a funny game. It's just intelligent humour, so it's likely to whoosh right over your head if you're a dumbfuck. Dumbfucks only get the sheep.

LoL you are so stupid cunta. Only a larping communist could be "Muh you have a tag thus you don't understand it" level of pretentiousness. Aren't you on dick polishing duty in the brexit thread mate? The other ass bleeding communist will be lonely without your mate. Arcanum may have had a joke but is not a game about humour or funny in general. Seeing it that way just reflects your low level of comprehension. Or you are just some sick person that just enjoy snuff shit, and finds it funny.

Yes, it is. Like if you would ask Boyarsky, Anderson and Tim it is. A certain aspect of a darker shade of humor is a big aspect to their games.
Unless your take is that all their humor misfierd and Arcanum's brilliance is a concidence.

And you're literary talking about a game that starts with a blimp containing fantasy creatures wearing top-hats (which most definitly was a joke in the early 2000's) being shot down, and the first person you meet is Virgil.

Remember your first conversation with Virgil? He starts with complete amazment *Wh...Wha...Why.. WTF JUST HAPPENED?* kind of way. It's an understandable reaction, but that dialouge wasn't meant to be super edgy either.

And let's not even talk about a low-int playthrough.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
One pirated copy =/= one less copy sold. The average is way closer to zero less copies sold, either because they would've never bought it in the first place or because they bought it after pirating it.

As for the whole "you're not actually protesting against the corporations because you're spending time on their games" argument, I dunno, it seems to me like you're attaching your arbitrary morals to the issue.

Specially if you live in the US and buy from Steam or EGS (who sell you licenses and not products, even though they advertise the games as products).

Sounds like subscription services are tailor made for you. No pretense of ownership, no paid DLC, cheap as soap. :M
Please. Pirated games are the closest one could be to actually owning them, even more than GOG games because the GOG installer doesn't work on older operating systems. Also even more than physical PC games, because they're usually bundled with DRM.

It is amusing how everyone cite those three people. Yet i still haven't seen anything from the writer of the game,Edward Mortimer. I couldn't even find a fucking photo of the guy. I am surprised by how little he is mentioned......anywhere really, especially since he is one of the reasons why the game is so memorable. Roguey do you have any info on the dude? All i found out,was the wrote some first edition D&D things. Is he even alive?

Duraframe300 i don't see how a gnome with a top hat is funny,it is like saying that chink in a tuxido is funny. It is a well set up world from the start,i see nothing funny about the whole intro. Don't know why you find people getting burned alive in a blip crash funny. What do you expect a person to say if he sees a fireball crashing down the mountain and some dude walking away from all that, just fine??? I seriously don't see what is so funny about all that!
