3 was cool because your sim could walk around the world and visit other houses.

Then 4 just did away with all of that and added LGBT mental illness.

I'm beginning to suspect The Sims 5 (project rene) was silently cancelled. There's been no word about it in a long time, and the Project Rene discussion section on the official forums was removed back in July.
