Bleh, looks like Steam is only taking Dead Island to 50% so I doubt Amazon will list it at $12 again. Ah well, I'll just wait that out.

Pretty mediocre final day of new deals. Overall this sale was nothing amazing. The promotion was stupid and the prices just not that good compared to other retailers.

I detest the idea of cocks so I will only suck them when they are placed in one box together

Come on, now. DLC's are lazy shite that often ruin the immersion of games. If anything, it'd be like sucking a big dick and then having a tiny dick pop up with a yellow blurb tied around it saying $4.99. Over and over. And you look up and you're like, "What the hell?" And the first dick is like, "Oh, these are just my friends." And you're all like, "I thought this was just between me and you, man."

So... uh... just get the base game for $5 and be done with it?

I liked LA Noire when I played through it for free on 360 and I WILL BUY THIS HERE VIDEOGAME ON STEAM.

First game I bought this sale that I felt was a pretty good price drop, considering. Didn't have any of the DLC when I played on console either so I'll have new cases to check for semen in! :bounce:

LA Noire just doesn't interest me that much. Maybe at $5 some time down the road.

But it's not the full game. So it's not just $5. Unless you can play a game ignoring the fact that it's not the full game (I can't); this is of course impossible in game's like Dragon Age which blast the immersion with their "Buy DLC!" characters that pop up like they had been dropped in there as a joke. There are so many things wrong with DLC beyond just pricing and game content. I think the way they broke out, with the $5 "Horse Armor" crap, tells me everything I need to know about their cheap, lazy purpose. That's just what I think. And I try hard to not support any of it, though that's becoming impossible. I don't know why anyone else cares.

Eh... I got New Vegas for $10, played through it, and had no desire to buy the DLC. Arguing whether or not it's the 'full game' is semantics... especially in the case of Bethesda DLC which always feels tacked on and isn't interwoven into the main game/campaign a la Night of the Raven or something similar. It's just a collection of separate vignettes that you have to travel to another map to access and none of it occurs after the completion of the main game.

So... yeah, it's the full game. The DLC is just for suckers who can't get enough of the crappy engine and need another ~5 hours of quest content.

Vanilla NV is very much full. There's content for 100 hours at least. The 4 "big" DLCs were done later on and are completely optional. I finished the vanilla game first and never noticed the lack of DLCs...

I kinda wonder if the DLC content feels coherent with the base game, given how "finished" it feels. I know many conversations foreshadow the events of the DLC, but at the same time I liked hearing about people and places while knowing I wouldn't meed them myself, just as if you were hearing stories and legends about stuff from another life.

Honest Hearts fit very well with the main game for me, feeling in some details of the backstory of a few characters you only hear about in the main game.

Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are each one at $4.99. I wasn't interested in them at the time, but for that price, maybe I should give 'em a try. My question is, are both games worth that? I know that they are popamole, but at least are they a little fun?

And what about L.A. Noire? It will get a lower price in the future? Discuss!

By the way, if someone has a Left 4 Dead 1/2 free copy to spare, I wouldn't mind.

This is an anti-Codex opinion but I loved Bioshock 1, and enjoyed Bioshock 2. Even though it rips off System Shock heavily, I thought the execution was for the most part better, and the setting more interesting. Keep in mind they're not action RPG-lite at all, they're straight FPS games. So yeah, $5 each seems well worth it to me. Loved 'em.

LA Noire will definitely be cheaper in the future, not likely cheaper than $5, and it may take a good year to hit $5. If it looks interesting to you now $12 isn't such a high price that you should feel heartbroken when it eventually gets cheaper.

Yes. I got' em both. I know that they are straight FPS, but at that price I think that I can give them a try. Thanks!

That's another reason why for example Dead Money is such a good DLC. By not playing it, you're not really missing out on the campaign any more than not completing a sidequest, the game is 100% complete without it. But, by finishing it, it really plays like an addition to the game, a bit more of a challenge than the base game, and a nice bit of backstory (which again you just hear rumors of e.g Elijah), instead of what 99.99% of DLC is, which is stuff cut from the game so they can sell it back to us for more $$. Not to mention, the DLCs themselves (again, Dead Money) mentions more people you don't get to meet and only have a faint picture of.

I couldn't get past the second chapter in Bioshock. Just a dull FPS. Waste of good art direction/story.

I won't say the winter sale was completely useless. The 75% off L4D2 yesterday meant I managed to gift it to a lot of people. Of course, now that they all have the game, the lobby is usually full and I can't play with them. :x
