The end result of all my crafting and achievement hunting:

* Half-Life 2/Episode One (already owned, traded away)
* Dota 2 (unpacked)
* Left 4 Dead 2 (already owned)
* -25% Valve x3
* -50% Valve
* -50% FlightControlHD

I think I played all the free games that had achievements:

Champions Online Very clunky and awkward, clearly went F2P for a reason. The achievement didn't end up being part of the sale.

Crimecraft Gangwars I only played the snowball fight level, but I was surprised by how smooth the movement and controls are. I was expecting some second rate shit. I'll possibly play some more.

Rise of Immortals First time playing a game like this. It's pretty cool, and if I don't like Dota 2's beta I might continue playing it.

Rusty Hearts A bizarre action MMO where you follow the exploits of some random characters who only appear when you talk to NPCs or watch cutscenes and such. The player character is a non-entity in the game, almost like he doesn't exist. In terms of mechanics it's a poor man's Devil May Cry and feels pretty clunky even with a gamepad.

Spiral Knights I guess it's ok, but I think it would get boring quickly. Unless things change later, the combat is just too shallow.

Next time I'm going to be way more careful with what I buy. The only game I feel good about buying is Chantelise (and maybe Far Cry 2, which I haven't played yet), the rest were either shit, forgettable or disappointing. I really wasted a lot of money.

What do you guys think of the HoMM5 series? $5 for the main game and the expansion packs seems like a good deal, but I haven't played one in ages.

Yeah. Christmas sale wasn't a complete wash, but was kinda bad compared to previous years.

Come on, now. DLC's are lazy shite that often ruin the immersion of games. If anything, it'd be like sucking a big dick and then having a tiny dick pop up with a yellow blurb tied around it saying $4.99. Over and over. And you look up and you're like, "What the hell?" And the first dick is like, "Oh, these are just my friends." And you're all like, "I thought this was just between me and you, man."
But the way you do it is ignoring all the dicks until they all arrive at once. And then you say "oh, sorry, I was ignoring the dicks, but all in a line like that you just look so tasty". They look like they;re coming in one box but really you're ust getting a box of separate dicks. The dicks are still separate. Contemplate the dick. The dick is like the ocean; disturbed, slurping, bumping. Drifting back and forth on the current of cum. Hai, Something Awful! Hai, RPGWatch! RPG, RPS! Hai Codexia, thrice betrayed, thrice shai! Shave the dreamer. Beware the wrong walking path. Reach heaven by trolling. The Ninth Era has its Hist-ships and 16th-Dimensional Mathematic Barrages; who is to blame for this? We know the roots of the Hist reach not only to death, but beyond; they war with the Jills. It's hard to see what other group could lead to this. We have not heard the last of Vehk. But hey, if all else fails... the God of Make Way might provide. Could make for an interesting game, albeit one that would be entirely incomprehensible to anything below 9th-dimensional sense. AE PADHOME ALTADOON, and so forth. As the scribe MK raved, in his blood-words before he was dragged away from the Kuhlmannessiad (before the False-Truths leaking from his spirit mantled KINMUNE):

Lorkhan and his avatars:

1. Wulfharth L
2. Hjalti O
3. Ysmir R
4. Talos K
5. Arctus H
6. Septim A
7. Bumface N

lol WUT?

It's Dark Souls mofo... you can't just pause to answer the phone or go take a leak.
And that's because the game doesn't allow it, because the developers are assholes. There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to pause the game.

Also, it's not a single player game, it's meant to be played online all the time... invasions.. co-op.. etc.
I don't play any 360 games online.

No, that's just the type of game it is. As I said, it's meant to be played online - just because they allow you to play off-line as well, doesn't make it a single-player game.

Your loss then. Your orignal post was correct then (just not for the reason you mentioned), don't buy Dark Souls -> because it's an online game and you can't pause online games.

So what you're saying is that the developers are retarded and don't know how to program a pause function into a game thas has online capabilities. The rest of the game is probably shitty too, since it's not like such retards are capable of making anything decent.

It's quite a curious "online game" if I'm able to play it with the network cable unplugged. I wonder if you understand the concept of an online game.

Just a note: Amazon's Best Selling Downloads of 2011 promotion should start in a couple of hours. Some Steamworks games like Deus Ex and Dead Island are among the ones available. If you previously bought a game from Amazon download in the last few weeks you should have a promo code for $5 off to use on a purchase.

How is it possible to run out of something like that? This doesn't compute.

Don't be a fucking moron. You clearly dont' know anything about the game. I already said it's an online game that they 'allow' you to play offline. There is no option for playing offline by the way - you either have to unplug the network cable or manually disconnect from XBL. There is no online/offline mode.

When online, you can be invaded at anytime by other players (when in human form) and of course you can invade and/or summon or be summoned by other players. How the hell are they going to implement a pause function?? In the middle of a fight with a dark phantom (other player) - someone hits pause???

Would you prefer they simply didn't allow offline play to make it less confusing for you?

Wow, this is total bull. I ing got every achievement in the event, and now I have 63 completely useless coal to go with my already 30 Valve coupons (and of course I already bought the Valve Complete Pack and then won it again in the Potato giveaway).

The most dedicated always get the most on.

Aspies gonna aspie.

They should've only given away cheap games so this wouldn't happen. Cheap games meaning under 15 dollars. They probably blew a significant amount of cash on Skyrim and CoD:MW3, both of which are overpriced and not exactly suitable as 'gifts'.

Edit: apparantly it's impossible to have an M preceded by a colon without this forum thinking it's the parrot.
