I bought way too many games.

By the way, the new people who bought Deus Ex... any thoughts? I've been hesitant to pick it up.

This year's sales was a wash for me, just had my finger on hold until the NV dlcs started to pop up.
Still have a hankering for Shogun 2 and Portal 2, don't know if they are worth the money.

Yes and yes. Shogun 2 is the best Total War in a long while if not forever, and Portal 2 may indeed be short and linear but at $7.50 you'll probably have a pretty good time assuming you played and enjoyed Portal 1.

Oooh, Arkham City is $25 on Green Man atm (never goes below $50 on steam for me). They also got FeAR3 for $7.82. Think I'll grab those...
Thanks for the heads up on Fear 3, I grabbed it for that price and used a $2 voucher I had saved.

I wouldn't buy F3AR, even if it was just 1€

At least the first 10+ hours have been a blast. One of the purchases that I regret the least. Obviously not perfect, but then again - what is?

I prefer Deus Ex 3 to the original. Longer levels, which are usually more intricate + less clunky controls and gameplay = win. Oh, and the graphics:smug:

Welll... here's how I turned out, mostly in order of when I got them:

Avadon. - Pretty solid game, no strengths but no real weaknesses either.
Atom Zombie Smasher. - Flash game with high production values, at best.
OrcsMustDie! - 6hours of good gameplay for $3 or whatever. Not bad.
Worms: Reloaded - Hilarious shenanigans as always.
Terraria - Not sure what to make of it yet. I dicked around for awhile and it was boring as fuck.
I think the game's adventure element is, essentially, what Minecraft will be in the future.

Games I bought for later play on a better system:

E.Y.E.
King's Bounty series
HoMM5 + Exps + Dark Messiah
L.A. Noire complete edition
Deus Ex: Human Revolution

E.Y.E. looks really interesting to me. Very cool looking game, for sure.
Looking forward to King's Bounty, and then some HoMM5, but KB first for sure.
Looking forward to L.A. Noire bitching out and being difficult to run for no logical reason.
Holding my breath and hoping Deus Ex is a good game, because I'm still unconvinced.

About $75 spent total (Worms was a pack). Not a bad haul.

Amazon dropped the price of Duke Nuke'em Forever to $6... so I got it for $0.99 after using one of my Amazon digital download coupons. Figure it can't be worse than a dollar, right?!

I thought about biting on Dead Island at $15 but decided to wait and see if for some wacky reason they drop it to less than a $20 sale. I've heard there are still a few bugs especially one annoying one where your custom/upgraded weapons can disappear. Supposedly the developers are working on a patch but they seem to have gone AWOL. I have one left but a friend of mine has a few he probably won't use if for some reason they have other good deals.

What's this coupons stuff you folks are talking about?

If you bought a game from Amazon's digital download store last month you got a promo code for $5 off a digital download title (that stacks with sales) to use during January. A funny aside -- the cost of what you bought was wholly irrelevant to whether or not you got the coupon. Even if you got a $0.60 DLC you still got a $5 off coupon.

DAMN. Making me regret picking it up on Steam for $5 even more! Honestly didn't expect the $5 Amazon coupons to be useful on anything.

Time to use that free Amazon EC2 instance as a bona fide proxy to bypass the very same U.S. only restriction in downloadable games :smug:

I think I overdone it this time and Im wondering when Im gonna play all these games. If I counted right I spent about 150 euros during holiday sales. About 100 on Steam and 50 on GamersGate.
Stuff like Batman 2, Deus Ex 3, Civ 5 GOTY, DOW2 Retribution, Red Faction Armaggedon, rest of the Worms pack I didnt have, Dungeon Defenders plus all DLC for all the games that had it and surely 10+ indie cheap ass games that were on 75%off sale. Only "free" game I got was Space Pirates and Zombies that I bought from GG with blue coins.

Time for some overtime :salute:

Green Man Gaming has dropped Dead Island (activates on Steam) to $15. Hoping that Amazon will price match that and with a coupon will be $10. Won't hold my breath, though.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
I stopped caring about the "metagame" of the Holiday sale shortly after it began, I ended up with 6 coals and a coupon. Meh.

I picked up 2 titles, Psychonauts for $3 and Serious Sam 3 at half price. Enjoying both immensely so far, so I'm not complaining.
