I don't think the Steam version of Arkham City has GFWL. Arkham Asylum might do, though.

Not dying to play it. Just sort of jonesing for a fix as it's been a while since I bought an indie bundle or anything on sale on Steam or GOG.

Doubt I'll be getting anything prior to the Summer Sale. The stuff on my list is either too new, too obscure, or has already been a deal that I didn't think was good enough, e.g., Deathspank and Bastion.

since they're the most progressive publisher out there EA should do a catalog sale where you have the option of pledging part of your payment to the lgbt charity of your choice

Yeah I bought it too. I had the DVDs but my DVD drive seems to hate them now. I don't mind buying the game again, I'd much rather have it without GFWL, the required DVD in the drive, and having to download updates manually.

New class based open world survival game on steam called ORION: Dino Beatdown. It looks surprisingly fun, so I'm definitely gonna pick it up. The dinosaurs seem to have AI too, which is a fun change from the craptastic zombie survival games where the devs could cheat with shitty AI.
Can't wait to shoot a T-Rex with a rocket launcher off the back of a hover bike :bounce:.

It's also a max of 5 players instead of the 4 player cap, which is good for me.

So I start up Steam, I see Call of Duty Black Ops 2 available for preorder. The description says "Call of Duty®: Black Ops II propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War". This is the first screenshot of the game.

with the one hand he points out on the codex how retarded the game looks and with the other he enters his credit card info to increase his game count by 1

So basically they are copying Crysis. And why give it the Black Ops moniker? It's got nothing to do with the previous game.

Next week Amazon DD will be running a Double Fine Promotion -- all of these are the Steamworks version:

Psychonauts - $1.99 (Sunday only) - $3.99 (Monday - Saturday)
Costume Quest - $2.99
Stacking - $7.49
"Oh So Fine" Bundle (all 3 games) - $9.99

If I hadn't have gotten Costume Quest and Psychonauts for $6 during the Holiday sale I'd be all over the $10 bundle. As it is I'll just wait for a lower price on Stacking.

There's also this Weekly Deal Vote promotion, where Amazon clients can vote each week for four different games, and the winner will be available for 4.99 the next weekend.

Currently the game on sale for this weekend is Darksiders. One of the games for the next one is Sengoku, but it seems that the winner will be Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. Note that there's also this sale sale for movie rentals, ebooks, and mp3 albums.

Doubt anyone really gives a shit, but I believe the two Batman games are -- overall -- the most well-made games of this generation.

Gameplay is very tight, but also flexible to what the player wants to get out of it. Great balance of combat, exploration and sneaking, sometimes all at the same time, too. The graphics look good, but more importantly they actually flow well with the gameplay. A lot of games will subtly sacrifice artistic-sense for the sake of shitty gameplay mechanics (hello cover-shooting), but the Batman games don't do this once. Everything is fluid as all fuck and it blows my mind how well those developers have nailed it. The music is amazing, too, and really sets the mood. And, finally, the stories are well told. I don't know much about the comics or lore, but the plots had me involved; especially in Arkham City, which pulled no strings (which is so rare in this day and age, IMO; again, the developers need more props).

IMO.

I own Arkham Asylum, but the game keeps crashing, so I can't confirm what you just said. Also: Games for Windows.

Bought Sanctum for $2.50 and played it for a few hours high off my ass last night. Good fun, got my money's worth.

The AquaNox games are today's daily deal. I got them because I'm really curious about its concept. I know it's not X in the ocean (more like Freelancer, I presume?) but that's an excellent idea and even if the game sucks, I still want to see how they put it together, even if it's barely near what I have in mind.

Some thoughts on the games are welcome, as I'll not have time to touch them until next friday.

Ah, thanks for the headup.

Aquanox 2 got some terrific reviews back then in the German press. Never bothered with the series though, but now I bought it.

It was those times when Jewwood still published cool games. Haven't started playing the campaign yet, but it does run on Win 7 64 bit and supports Widescreen. Get it if you wanna have a submarine Freelancer with Homeworld style cutscene presentation.

People should be interested because it's a ridiculously good arcadey score attacking shoot 'em up dag-nabbit.
