Now on sale Alan Wake and Anomaly Warzone... 2 games just released on GOG. I'm a total Gabe fanboy, but hell this is a dickmove.
Didn't want any of the two, but now I may buy AW from GOG just out of spite.

Yeah Gaben seems to be targetting GOG,AW is obviously better in GOG since it's DRM free but Anomaly is a good deal for those who are interested

I received Alan Wake as a gift soon after it came out, but if I had more more money I'd be tempted to buy it from GoG just because. Also it would be slightly cheaper to buy it fro GOG at this point.

As a side-note, I wouldn't be surprised if we discover that Valve is between GoG and their rivalry is only a stratagem to provoke and control emotional and sectarian buyer impulses.

I highly doubt the Steam sale is meant to 'compete' with GOG -- there's a new DLC/expansion/whatever coming for Alan Wake so the developer obviously wants to push awareness via a sale. The only person you'd be spiting by buying this shitty game for $15 is yourself.

Also Portal 2 is 66% off or approximately $6.70. I'll have to pick it up eventually but since I'm not dying to play I still might just wait for the Summer Sale were it'll be that or a couple of Kwa-bux cheaper.

Today's Daily Derp is the (good) Wolfenstein games for 75% off (either individually or in a bundle): Wolf 3D, Spear of Destiny, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The ID Super Pack is also on sale for $50 but it's been cheaper.

Sword of the Stars II is $7.50 on Green Man Gaming -- activates on Steam.

I've heard (Even after much patching) it's still pretty busted and not up to snuff with Sword of the Stars 1, which is a shame.

Also, looks like versions of Thief Gold and Thief 2 for purchase (Not preorder bonuses) were added to the Steam registry.

Look forward to those. Really couldn't get into Thief 3 because of it's console-esque nature: resolutions, janky controls, small levels, loading screens, etc.

Company of Heroes collection on sale for $10. Tropico series, too. Discount only brings Tropico 4 to $13ish but there's also a free to play weekend trial so I'll give it a whirl.

Tropico 4 is nowhere near as good as the first was, and is really just a standalone expansion of 3. Worth a whirl, though depending on your spending habits $13 may be a little high.

I downloaded it but was instantly put off on finding out I need to register a Kalypso account in addition to Steam.

For some fucking reason Vogel's only got Avernum 4 5 and 6 on Steam. Listed as "The great trials trilogy".

I'd buy his shit on (Deep) sale price on Steam even after the disappointment I felt after playing Avadon a bit, but why only 4 5 and 6? Why not the whole series like Geneforge? VOGELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

He remade the first Avernum again because the old engine doesn't run very well on modern computers, doesn't support multiple platforms, etc. From what I've read, he wants to remake the other two as well so they can benefit from design and tech updates.

Ah, I see. Seems peculiar that Avernum would have issues when Geneforge apparently doesn't. Wasn't Geneforge first?

I was waiting for this. Clever of him to put the sale a few weeks after Avernum's release. But yeah I'll also wait for the next Steam sale.
