Played Toy Soldiers for an hour. Game gives kind of a bad first impression (GFWL, apparently bugged so it doesn't list 1920X1080 even though it supposedly supports it, no multiplayer unlike the console version) but the gameplay itself is pretty good. Action tower defense, similar to Orcs Must Die in style. You plop your turrets down and then take control of them for bonus firing rate/damage/to target a specific unit. Actually lost the third mission on normal difficulty because you end up against a dead 'ard boss, which bodes well for difficulty. Each mission has a little goal (Blow up 3 barracks with a howitzer, get a 10X combo with a vickers, kill 50 infantry with poison gas, etc) which gets you basically an in-game achievement to obsess over, and then each mission gives you a medal if you can beat it on the hardest difficulty.

So after an hour, seems Orcs Must Die-ish and pretty good. Would've been even better if they did a better job porting it.

Shit...guess I'd better preorder Thief 4 when it shows up.

I've been trying to get Thief and Thief 2 to work on my computer for years but it's never worked, if a Steam version is actually compatible with my computer then preordering Thief 4, no matter how popamole that game is, will be worth it.
Why not buy the GOG.com versions? They work perfectly fine on newer machines AND don't require Steam!

GoG has had Thief all this time?! Well shit what a waste of 2 years. How did I not know this?!

I'd brofist you if I could :bro:

SS3 is a worthy successor to FE and SE. That said, Amazon is going to be running a promo on it soon, possibly for less (U.S. IP and/or billing address required). Also I'd say there's a pretty good chance it will be cheaper during Steam's Summer Sale in ~6 weeks or less. Haven't played UFO: Afterlight but from what I'm told it's a pretty good tactical RPG/strategy game. Doubt it'll get cheaper unless you're thinking of buying the 1C Space Collection that has it, the Star Wolf series, and the Space Rangers games in one bundle. There might also be someone who bought the 1C complete collection from Gay-mer's Gate for $20 who has a spare copy of the game to give you or doesn't want it.

Playing through SS3 right now. Pretty decent game, but know this: those first few levels are absolutely horrible. I don't know why they are in there, but once you get through them it's alright.

Look. There is NO doubt whatsoever that the original X-COM is a better series than the modern UFO games. I am clearly agreeing to that. What I am saying however, is that 2.5 is NOT a bad price to pay for UFO:Afterlight NOT because its a sequel to XCOM (horror) its just that game is actually worth 2.50.

Morrowind and Derpblivion are 50% off for a week. For what it's worth I haven't seen Morrowind lower than its current $10 for over two years on Steam.

I don't know. If I were buying it again, knowing all I know about it now, I would say no. The gameplay is extremely repetitive and tiresome. However the plot and some of the quests show brief and rare flashes of something more. George Ziets is a talented writer (he's the main guy behind Mask of the Betrayer) but he was constrained in this game by the push towards making it a casual action game, and the limits of the Dungeon Siege license. If you like action RPGs then I'd say go for it, if you're a normal RPG guy I'd say skip it.

Supreme Commander 2 has possibly the best skirmish AI of any RTS I've played, and I've played a bunch. Pretty good for $5, and the $3 DLC is worthwhile if you end up liking the game. Specifically skirmish AI though, campaign has RTS-standard "Make a blob and attack-move player" AI.

Is DS3 worth it for $5?

There's a demo on Steam you can try. It's not great but it's worth $5.
No.

It's not worth anything. At all.

Didn't you like DA2?

Dungeon Derp 3 is Obsidian's worst game, not even worth it if it was for free.

The Onyx engine is quite impressive though.

This is why you make no sense. You pan DS3 which admittedly is nothing amazing but you're all over Binary Domain a shitty console cover shooter?
