Yep, I fought off the DD urge when I read the level cap was now 90. Either I'd play the maps just to play them and spend... maybe an hour or so on them or get back into the grindfest and I really didn't want to do that. New flash deals are sort of lame. Gary's Mod, anyone?!?

25 dollars is a good price for anno 2070, dude. It's a fantastic game and that's honestly pretty cheap.

Multi Headed Cow I saw that video and I don't think he can get written off as retarded. I think the issue is more complicated than that, and what he said I don't think is completely right and stems from his personal bias, but I also think he's partially right. I like TB and he's generally pretty smart and mature. His bias, as he's said before multiple times and the reason he does the WTF Is videos over indie games is that there are a lot of companies and games that don't do well even though they were great due to poor marketing. We have a lot of similar sentiment on a different subject here on the Codex of how juggernauts like CoD and Bethesda are a kind of poison to game devs. I do agree that he is wrong in saying that Valve is being a monopoly that is mistreating the industry by providing good games for hats, but I do think he does have a point about how that makes it so hard for realistic competition. I just think the issue is a lot more complicated.

I think Valve is a very smart company that doesn't do the stupid business major mistakes that EA and Activision do. It does lead them to dominating the market because they are just better at it than the rest. I also have seen the complaints about Valve and Steam on this forum and think I haven't seen anything that isn't stupid and shallow. But at the same time, he does have a point about how smaller developers get shut out because they -have- to be F2P to compete with Valve's high quality elephants in the room.

I know everyone here knows that I love Dota, and I'm super glad Valve is the company handling it, but I want to point out I don't like any other games they've made except for the Portal series. I haven't played TF2 in like a year or two, I never liked the Half Life series. I think it does illustrate how I feel about the company that I am glad that a company like Valve is doing it instead of Blizzard or EA.

Also please vote for KotOR.
My god, man! Were 7 playthroughs not enough for you?!
Vote KotOR brothers.
Fight the anime bullshit and hypocrisy overtaking this place.

Vote for KotOR bros. It's the only way. It has to win.
KOTOR was already on sale a day or two ago was it not?

Voted KOTOR

Why do people get emotionally invested in this industry nowadays? I couldn't care less if a developing company goes down - it's not like the devs will be shot. I don't see no particularly important companies either, no looking glass, black isle, troika.

Is Drakensang a hidden deal at $10 or has it always been that cheap?

Edit: Doesn't matter, bought it anyway along with Capsized.

By the way, if anyone is skipping Arkham City over the numerous deals it's had, you are making a big mistake. Arkham City I think is one of the best games of the past decade, and I'm not joking or being a skyway or anything.
It's one of those games that was worth it at full price, getting it for 7-10 bucks is just a great deal

Probably people buying copies to put on that Steamgifts thing -- donating games, even shitty ones, increases your chances of winning contests. Also seems like there's some reddit thread where people are 'troll gifting' it.

Don't know, but I got both Drakensang at 10€ at launch here, they were sold at newsstands as main distribution channel. (FX Interactive does that kind of cheap games).

I missed Gal Civ Ii the first time. I already have it but it needs the bullshit Fagstop client to install. Much prefer Steam version. Maybe Skyway will get it for me being the bro that he is.

IS dreamfall worth it btw ?
If you played the longest journey, perhaps. It's a continuation of TLJ, and a lot of stuff won't make sense unless you played that. Dreamfall really suffers from being the middle part of a planned trilogy that never got finished. The ending (and many of the scenes that lead up to it) feels kind of rushed. It's only really worth it if you really, really liked the longest journey.

Arkham Shitty uses GFWL though, doesn't it? Horrible, horrible DRM.

Yep, infected with Gay for Windows Live. But apart from that it's really one of the best games in recent times.

I would have definitely bought it if I didn't have it already. Best thing I got from this sale so far, however seems to be VtM Bloodlines. Always wanted to see what the fuss is about.

Aye. Bought GTA IV during the sale. It's utterly ruined by GFWL because you need to be logged in to save and get achievements. Luckily an offline profile does the job, even though I have no achievements (I couldn't care less anyway)

Wow, todays sales really seem pretty lackluster.
And two of them aren't even available in my region...

Edit: Now it's only one that doesn't show up.

Gotta be the 4th or 5th times Portal 2 and Witcher 2 have been up for sale.
