Hard Reset has enclosed areas with a lot of environmental damage options, has two weapons that transform, is quite a bit prettier and takes place only during the night. Also, throwaway european translated plot/level briefing justifications.
The enemies drop health and ammo, which you do need.

Summer Sale over for me. Spent 67 €, and quite happy with the crappy games I got.
Even with the lousy sales recycles, I still love The Gaben.

Codex 2012 Codex 2013 Codex 2014 PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Looks like none of Vogel's games (except maybe Avadon?) were specials, so I ended up picking up the Geneforge pack (all 5 games) for $10 and the latest Avernum remake for $5.

Other than that I picked up Portal 2, Hitman: Blood Money, Just Cause 2, Sim City 4, Psychonauts, Monkey Island remake double pack, Den There, Dan That! double pack and the Frozen Synapse DLC at other times during the sale.

Picking up Jagged Alliance Back in Action with all DLC, and the Splinter Cell pack today. That'll probably be it for me. Only thing I kinda wanted and didn't pick up was the Age of Wonders bundle. Mainly just wanted it for a Steam copy of Shadow Magic to replace my disc version, so I'll keep waiting for a bigger discount.

Total haul:
Crusader Kings 2 African units pack
The Bard's Tale
Rayman Origins
Warlock Power of the Serpent
Warlock Lords and whatevers
Anno 2070 complete
Alan Wake American Nightmare
Frozen Synapse (ONLY NOW IT'S RED DLC!!!!!!!!)
Darkness 2
Fable 1 and 3 complete
Pendulo adventure pack
Stacking
Stardock pack (demigod, galciv2 complete, soase rebellion and trinity)
Orcs Must Die 2
Gratuitous Space Battles parasites DLC
Gratuitous Tank Battles
Swords and Soldiers Super Saucy Sausage Fest DLC
Divine Divinity
Beyond Good and Evil
Botanicula
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Crysis 2
Jagged Alliance Back in Action with all DLC
Splinter Cell pack

Total comes out to about $198. Now I probably won't spend much apart from terrible indie bundles. Even Steam sales probably won't hit me much. Just gotta wait 5 months for the winter sale. :bounce:
And all that immediately springs to mind for 2012 new games I'm interested in is Borderlands 2. And that proooobably will have some manner of preorder discount and probably a 4 pack on Steam. I guess probably Dishonored too, but I'll probably wait on that one. Maybe. Possibly. May even wait on Borderlands 2 depending on what the preorder bundle discount would end up being.
Spent too much but I'd been preparing for the summer sale anyway, and I like having a massive backlog/pile of games on hand.

Same here, except mine was about $100 (counting the $25 spent on CK 2/Vicky 2 deal from the 11th). Just about everything I wanted was discounted...although I would have liked to see Arma 2 and JA:BIA a little bit cheaper...

The new Bard's Tale is only good for the interaction between Tony Jay (the narrator) and Cary Elwes (the Bard). The game itself is laughably bad. It's a mindless top/down hack and slash with boring/filler combat.

I would have bought Skyrim for 75% off. I guess Bethesda wouldn't allow it.

However I would like to play Chaos Theory and Edders did not want it so hit me up bby pls.
I tried to bro, I really did. I just couldn't make myself pull the trigger on the Transmorphers. Definitely down for some CT co-op action though.

I was as disapointed as anyone with the constant recycling of the short term offers but I still picked up a few things here and there:

Trine 2
Portal 2
Toy Soldiers
both Warlock DLCs
Avernum bundle (4, 5 and 6)
Avernum: Escape from the Pit

I also bought the Warlock + other crap bundle on Amazon, leaving me with extra keys for Majesty 2 and Majesty: Gold. PM me if you'd like them.

Things I considered but ultimately passed on:

Batman: Arkham City (I bet it'll hit 75% off by the winter sale and I won't play it before then anyway)
Deus Ex: HR "Missing Link" (meh, the fact that it isn't integrated into the main game prevents me from collecting it for completness sake)
Bastion (kind of liked the demo, just too many better games that I haven't even installed yet)
Skyrim (I'm interested, but after getting burned on OB, even US$30 is too rich, I'll probably go for it at $20)

Wise decisions. Missing Link isn't anything special. Bastion is more like a Nintendo 64 game than an ARPG.
