$8 DLC for a $15 game? Yeah... I like Frozenbyte and the artwork and visuals on Trine are amazing but, meh. The game play itself is entertaining but nothing I was dying to play. Passed on it even at $3.75 during the Summer Sale. Guess I'll just wait for this package at a steep discount or its eventual inclusion in a Humble Bundle.

I think there's a lot of talent at Frozenbye but I wish they'd apply it to something else.

Maybe that $8 DLC is a full Trine 2-sized campaign with new levels and enemies and items! :bounce:

I'll grab it eventually during a sale, but since I haven't even finished Trine 1 yet I'm in no rush. Probably should finish Trine, I really enjoy it when I play it but for some stupid reason I never think "Oh yeah I wanna play some Trine".

Crysis series on sale on Steam for the weekend.
All games -75%. If you are in need for a graphics demo, that's your chance, I guess.
Nothing about Origin activation either.

How's Crysis 2, by the way? Worth* 9 bucks?

Weird, never had a fall sale before. They usually just do a small Halloween sale. Maybe we'll get a big sale for every season. :bounce:

They had a very good thanksgiving sale last year, I suspect this will be the same thing.

I bought Crysis 2.

What the hell. A month ago I was thinking about games that are just too visually busy and cluttered to be playable, and now Crysis 2 has gone and done that, bringing "looks amazing, but is fucking unplayable" to a new height. There is so many objects, so many effects, such detailed textures, such voluptuous lighting and fog and smoke, etc. that I literally cannot tell what the fuck I am looking at without constantly squinting all the time. Did Crytek even try playing their own game during its development?

I mean, I did just come off of playing KotOR II, so maybe it's just system shock at seeing such a huge change, but... damn, I could barely play the very first level because I kept getting shot at by enemies I could not see amongst all the detail. The first Crysis didn't look quite as good but it certainly did not have this problem.

Bought Trine 2's expansion. I loved the main game, and the DLC looks equally good.

I like the occasional shooter and Crysis is less dumb than most these days (in terms of gameplay, the story is somehow even more moronic and nonsensical). Honestly, aside from the visual porn being distracting, it's fairly fun. AI is improved (they use suppressing fire and grenades etc. well, call out your location to others, etc.), weapons look, feel and sound very nice, there is opportunity for variety and experimentation in gameplay, and the level design, though more compact, is still fairly open. It might be sacrilege to admit, but the streamlined controls (Q and E for armor and stealth modes, sprint = speed mode) actually make me use the suit powers much more often and more creatively. It's not an awful game so far by any means, certainly not for $10.

I suppose. I just remember seeing that youtube video of the guy walking through it on the second hardest difficulty without shooting anything and beating the last mission. I can't really attest to the current state of FPS games. Other than Stalker and Serious Sam I can't recall any off the top of my head I've played recently (not counting TF2).

Yep, stealth is still overpowered, especially if you can upgrade it (not sure on that yet). Frankly it drains suit power way too slowly. But, if you want to ghost the game, well, at least you can still do it. At least it is a shooter that gives you options on how to win, and that is saying something these days.
