Windows 8.

:hmmm:

I'm going from Windows 7 to GabeN Linux.
It was $15 and I've never owned a legal Windows in my life until now! I was weak!
And it's mostly like 7 anyway. Only game I've found that apparently has Windows 8 issues is Hotline Miami.

Serious Sam 3 allegedly getting an 85% discount to $6 for 24 hours starting in about 2 hours from now at Gamestop. Probably grab it at that price but hopefully Amazon matches since I have like $50 credit there.

Yeah, I kinda wondered about that. Normally Valve didn't let people sell shit on Steam unless the game was "Done", the only exception I can remember off the top of my head being 1 2 3 Kick It which is fucking terrible and hasn't been updated in a year+. I kinda assumed that one slipped onto Steam because of the Portal 2 promotion and then the developer dropped it like a hot potato (Haaaaaaaaaaaaa) when he realized he already got a sack full of money for it and didn't have to work on it any more to actually sell it.

Sorta the same thing with Cortex Command, really. Last time I looked at the Steam forum for that there were a ton of people pissed off at the state of the game and trying to get refunds because the difference from the last alpha/beta version and 1.0 is negligible. GOD DAMN INDIES. MAKES ME SO MAD I COULD JUST BUY BLACK OPS 2.

Yeah, neither Cortex Command or Towns is ready for Steam release yet. Stupid shit.

I check out the steam forums ALWAYS before buying anything these days. It used to be a good guide line to live by, but now it's pretty much a necessity. Towns looked kinda interesting, but I was disappointed to see that it was pretty much still in Alpha. Gaben needs to do something about greenlight. It's not really working the way it was intended. I thought it was to give spot light to interesting indie games, not give them a chance to sell (barely) half finished crap.

Greenlight shit is a fucking sign of a fucking huge decline overtaking steam. Like - titanic huge decline.

Yeah, it was a good idea ending up terrible. Community shouldn't be the one to vote what's gonna be on steam, because sheeple doesn't know what's good for it.

Treading water, but at least it's warm
I never really understood the point of greenlight. Indie games like VVVVV, World of Good, Super Meat Boy, Terraria, FTL, and Binding of Isaac didn't seem to have any trouble getting on steam. Right now it just seems like a mechanic for introducing more shit into Steam. I already have a bunch of crap games I'd like to simply remove from my account that I got with various Indie bundles.

Is there a way I can gift the STALKER key if I buy the Amazon bundle? Already have it.
If it's the same as past Amazon bundles, then yes, no problem. I've bought quite a few in the past and all of them have their own keys listed under your software page.

Perhaps I'll grab the bundle, I never actually bought Stalker, Metro 2033 seems like a fun popamole and Space Marine migth be good for the lulz...
Stalker is awesome, in my humble opinion the best shooter to come around in a long time, Metro is an okay popamole, worth a play and Space Marine is completely mediocre on single player point of view, multiplayer is really, really fun.

Apparently Prototype 1 + Prototype 2 + DLC will be $7.50 on Amazon tomorrow around 3pm Central or so for like 2 hours. It coincides with the broadcast of their shitty show with Gamestop or something.

Hmmm, http://www.dontstarvegame.com/blog/ is going live for a beta on Steam tomorrow but if you get it today (next few hours) you get two copies for $9. MHC needs to be online on Steam so he can split this with me!

(But don't hold me to that I'm still undecided!)

Had never heard of the game before so I did a search to find information. Saw a Totalbiscuit video which I foolishly clicked because I thought "NYAH HAH, A GAMEPLAY VIDEO, THIS WILL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING". Minutes pass and he's running in a circle picking things up and talking about entirely unrelated shit like THE HISTORY OF MINECRAFT and namedropping roguelikes. He's said absolutely nothing about this game apart from it being made by Klei. He didn't even mention the other games Klei has done which I had to look up myself.

METRO I AM WATCHING THIS VIDEO AND ABOUT TO SLIT MY WRISTS BECAUSE OF YOU, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?

Singleplayer H&H without building cities and politics between them? Sounds like fun... for up to 2hrs.

F all you guys. If you get past the pretentious art style it looks to be a pretty solid survival rogue like... just without stats. Also, anyone here want Dota 2? I have two more copies... but... you have to be on my friends list because I don't feel like adding anymore people... or MHC's friends list since I can just pass it to him... or Trip Jack or Bruticus.

So, did this materialize somehow?
