BTW is Victoria 2 any good?

Yes, if you like EU3 you should get Victoria 2, I'm playing it right now and so far I love it more than EU3

Just don't buy HoI3 on steam for now, the checksum is messed up so you won't be able to play with people without steam.

Just throwing it out there.

Sounds like there's going to be a Quakecon 2011 pack on Steam tomorrow/this weekend bros. All Bethesda published/owned games (TES games, Fallout 3 and NV, Brink, Hunted, Cthulhu, all the id games) and Quake 4 is finally getting added, and the whole bundle is apparently going to be $40 which is stupid cheap for all that.

I can't see Bethesda selling all of that for $40. All I want is Morrowind... unfortunately I doubt there will be individual discounts.

Yeah, I'm hoping there will be. I'd snag a few of them individually, but I own too much of the pack to make buying it worthwhile.

Would be interesting if Old World Blues was on discount, too...

Looks like it's only $40 if you preorder Skyrim and Rage, so lol.

Also JESUS CHRIST. I bought the id complete pack ages ago but that didn't add Quake 4 to my list, and they want $20 for it by itself. Bummer, since that's how you get the Quake 1 rocket launcher in TF2, plus Q4's ok.

Also also, all FNV DLC is marked down, but only 25%. But I'd wait, there will probably be a Fallout sale later in the weekend.

Also also also, free Brink weekend.

So pay $120, to make a $70 product into a $40 product, herp.

I am going to try the Brink for free weekend. I've heard the games fucking blows on an ATI card, which is what I have.

What a screw job. I knew it was going to be something like that. Here's hoping The Elder Scrolls is one of the daily specials and Morrowind drops to 75% off. Might try Brink this weekend although definitely not buy it -- the multiplayer is dead/filled with morons and the game itself is pretty mediocre.

Well when I try to install the free Brink it doesn't do anything. Derp.

I really liked the idea of the id pack, but....I already own every single game in that pack, and not on Steam either. Except for the Doom 3 and Quake expansions

Not surprising since Brink is notoriously rife with bugs and optimization issues.

K bro's, I just played Brink on my ATI card and got a max of 10 fps with a 5870 on lowest setting possible.

Verdict:

Piece of shit game obviously meant for consoles. DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE IF YOU ARE AN ATI USER.

but then again why would you ever use ati right

I'm slowly figuring that out the hard way. Although from what I have seen with the latest Nvidia and ATI cards, ATI is winning. But then again, most games are optimized for Nvidia products.

Got 60 FPS (because I use vsync) on 4870 with everything maxed (except motion blur and DOF, which I always turn off). So, yeah.

Still, game was full of glitches. Waiting for final patch before I give it a real try.

Nah. I have no particular leaning one way or the other - I just get the best I can afford at a particular time, regardless of colour (red/green). It's been my experience that for every game that has problems with ATI, there's another that has problems with nVidia.

Also, I recently sold a pair of GTX460's on ebay and upgraded to a pair of HD6970's (2GB) (actually, 6950's flashed to 6970). Ended up being a difference of $100 for almost double the performance of the 460's - pretty happy with that. I'm particularly impressed with ATI's latest drivers which seem much improved over the last time I had an ATI card (5870 - yeah, I change video cards almost as often as I change my undies).

Not a great deal if you already got the id super pack during one of the hundred times it was on sale for like $15. Still, for everyone who missed all that it's a no-brainer.

Nice to see Quake 4 finally on there but I'm not paying $20 to replace my box copy. Maybe in a $5 sale.

I knew they'd only do 50% off Morrowind. Was 75% off a year ago. Methinks I'll PB it. Yes, I'm that cheap plus it's the principle of the thing!

It'll probably be 50% off later.
