First and foremost the game was ready to be released on the PC about a year ago but was delayed because of issues with Xbox certification -- they refused to release the PC version first because of fears of cross-platform piracy.

The two weekend deals have usually been a rare thing although as of late they've been having a lot. Dungeon Def devs say the preorder will go live around 5pm Eastern time -- save me a copy if you get a pack MHC, I'll be out for a bit but I'll check back in a couple of hours to see if it's a decent price. They keep hyping it as being 'awesome.' I'm guessing a good preorder discount or... a TF2 hat. -_-

Edit: And what a surprise... I'm back, it's past 6:30 Eastern and no information. These jokers can't make fucking deadlines to save their life.

Preorder's up. No 4 pack, only 10% discount at full $15 price. Looks like no TF2 hat, there's a portal gun in Dungeon Defenders and a Heavy, Engineer, Medic and Pyro pet.

Edit: Scratch that, 4 pack just showed up. $10.10 each. Hmm.

Hmmmmm. Trying to figure out if the TF2 pets are preorder exclusives or just Steam exclusive. Still wish the game were $10 base. Assuming it's not more than 50% off during the upcoming sales I'd probably go with $10. Worst I lose is $5 and I've been waiting for this fucking game forever. And I've wasted $5 on worse like RF: Guerilla.

Looking at the wiki, it appears it will have at least 11 maps, and approximately 8 enemy creatures. Which seems awfully sparse. I realize Orcs Must Die's first few maps were really basic, but it has 24 of them.

Low map count is ok if the gameplay is complex enough. Small variations in maps could be enough. But for a tower defense game, even a hybrid, I guess that the monster diversity is one of things that make or break the game.

I'm sure they'll milk it with DLC over time but at the very least it'll expand. OMD is pretty much the final product. They said they might add a survival mode but that's about it. Ultimately I'll buy both it's just with OMD since there's no multiplayer I can put it off until whenever. But hey, think it over, you got a week or so.

I may take his place if the 4-pack thing is still going, because that'd be more advantageous for me (pre-purchase price is almost 11 €, and if the 4-pack is 10 $ each, that means 7.5 € for me) but I'm on the fence. If you still want to do it, give me a few days to think about it. And if someone wants in instead of me, then just do it. At the very least, it's cheap enough that I could order a dish from the Chinese restaurant next door with it :D

Wimped out and bought it via TF2 metal. Got it at 80 cents to the refined which isn't exactly good (It's about as bad a price for refined as you'll get without getting completely raped) but what the hell.

Hmmm, I might try to trade some of my TF2 crap for it but I really have no patience for bargaining with the masses. If I just list my TF2 stuff, maybe you can tell me what's equivalent to the game and I'll give you the stuff for you to work your magic and grab me a copy.

Unless you wanted to overpay a decent chunk (For the guy trading the game, I wouldn't take a cut) I wouldn't really wanna bother since trading TF2 items for games is usually at least a minor annoyance. I could earmark some stuff for good offers for you though, that'd be easy enough I wager. Then just slap a post in the hat for game thread and quote/repost it roughly every new page.

Okay, here's what I have: 7 refined, 4 name tags, gold paint, olive paint, dueling game, engineer mullet, ellis cap, picklehaub, pugilist protector, prancer's pride, guadalajara, pyro beanie, urshanka, and various other weapons, assload of crates, etc. I have some vintage hats but I keep those just to have one hat for each class.
