Uhm...I think people are complaining about the game's depiction of child/teenage soldiers rather than the well-known fact that they were employed in early warfare.

Them being in the game likely has less to do with historical accuracy and more to do with the fact that every jRPG has teenage protagonists.

lol at the deep discussion about children drafted in war. This is a fucking anime story guys. Everyone above 16 is considered an old dude and everyone above 25 is a Methuselah.

Finished tank boss mission and it was boring as hell. Both bosses can't do anything to your tank, so it easy to complete it. And it still required multiple tries to complete it without losing anyone, as dying in wrong spot could make ressurection impossible. Not that it add any rxitement to the bttle, just makes it more annoying. I hope other bosses aren't anything like that.

Welkin, the hero of the story, can potentially send her on a suicide mission to old an indefensible position, or act as bait for a tank, or run through a machine gun nest, knowing that he's sending a 12 year old girl to her death.
If you're going to send someone to their death, why NOT a 12 year old kid? 12 year olds are annoying as fuck, and require less than 67% of the production cost of an adult. It takes only 12 turns to produce a 12 year old, at least 18 to make an adult. That's at LEAST a 33% savings! It's simply easier and cheaper to turn out child soldiers, and they might even be better in many ways. So long as they can fire a gun, they also make smaller targets, and probably fit inside tanks better. If anything, I would intentionally design tanks to be crewed partially by child soldiers. You'd be able to put more armor on it because the crew would take up less space!

After all, does it really matter whether they die in battle, or die when they are dismembered and raped by your enemies when you lose because you weren't willing to do what it takes? A fighting chance is better than being the mop-up. This is why you see so many child soldiers employed in ethnic (and sectarian) conflicts: The losers will be massacred anyway, so they have a better chance of surviving by fighting.
You guys are looking into this a bit too deeply. I just find the idea of the guy who makes speeches about how war is bad, friendship is magic, and birds are free, all-in-all your typical pure-hearted warrior of justice moralfag animu protagonist, is also perfectly willing to send 12 year olds to their death. This contrast is amusing. The idea is amusing. It just amuses me.

After Zaka's and Welkin's little Saturday cartoon speech about the need to respect diversity and treat mankind as individuals I'm contemplating skipping the rest of the cutscenes.

I also like how the bad guys are an anachronistic dog's breakfast of Nazi Germany, Prussia and Tsarist Russia. Basically everyone sinister in the Western historical imagination.

You make it sound like they are the usual your-run-of-the-mill cliché villeins.

Isn't this a Jap game, though? Nazis aren't sinister from the Jap viewpoint.

Doesn't change the fact that jap games are full of kawaii nazi girls. They appeal to the japanese because of their quest for ORDNUNG and xenophobia mirrors Japans own. :3

Almost impossible in my experience. Valve drags it out by replying once every two weeks and completely ignores local consumer laws by saying "nu-uh". You also can't reach anyone higher than whoever happens to be processing your tickets, because that employee straight away refuses to forward your ticket. Fortunately, they are not being sued in Australia for this very reason.

They were sued and lost in Europe like 2 years ago, and all they've done is to promise a resell/refund policy at some point in the future.

The first mods are already floating around, some made by Durante.
So far I'm using HD character textures, canvas tweak and HD unit icons.

- Codex recommends game. Codex hasn't failed so far, buy game at reasonable price.
- Surprisingly good baring some cringe-worthy dialogue. Am happy.
- Reach mission 8. Get reckless because I'm used to shocktroopers and not wusses scouts.
- Second try. Die to retaliation fire after 1/2 hour of sloooooow movement.
- Third try. Finally kill all enemies. Happily walk towards the level exit. Hear "click".
- Alicia is sent flying through the air.

How easy is it to get a refund through steam

I'm not crashing, but I just send a refund request myself. Loaded up the game this evening, there was no option to load my game. The game just acts like I never played it.

hey sega i think there may be a slight issue with your port, fuckheads
