you took a screenshot of IMDB?
What the fuck, bro?
Maybe Valve understands that certain things should be laid to rest. Chances are HL3 would turn out like Diablo 3.
Steam Client Beta - October 11, 2019
The Steam Client Beta has been updated with the following changes:
Library
Windows Only
- Recent Games and Recent Friend Activity are now shelves.
- Shelves can now be reorganized by drag and drop. Click and hold on the center of a shelf header to start reorganizing.
- A ‘disable community content’ option has been added. Low bandwidth mode will still enable this option, but it can also be set separately.
- Games that no longer run on MacOS 10.15 Catalina will show an incompatibility warning.
- Added new UI for uninstalling a game or application
- Fixed roaming of favorites and hidden collections between machines. Note: changes outside of beta will not affect the beta library.
- Redesigned library with better support for smaller windows and restored, slimmer Home and Collections buttons
- Fixed forward and back buttons on downloads page sometimes navigating twice instead of once
- Reduced client hitching for users with large libraries when adding or removing games
- Fixed cases where the ‘install’ button failed to offer installation on remote computers
Remote Play
- Enabled drag and drop of games to browsers, for navigating to the game’s page on the Steam Store.
Steam Input
- Remote Play Anywhere now runs over the Steam Datagram Relay network, which ensures that the best route over the Valve backbone is always used. Also, connections are rerouted dynamically to avoid maintenance disrupting the connection.
- Added support for Power-A Fusion Xbox/Playstation 4/Switch Pro fight pads.
Edit: The beta has been updated to correct an issue with some free uninstalled applications appearing in users' libraries.
People love adding lazy-loading everywhere for some reason, nothing just loads right away, probably has something to do with everything being slower which can make a full render very slow.New beta patch has massive library view rendering issues. Everything renders in either after you mouseover it or wait a few seconds.
It's much more responsive if you turn off hardware acceleration for the web view in the options.New beta patch has massive library view rendering issues. Everything renders in either after you mouseover it or wait a few seconds.
Introducing Steam Remote Play Together
Now In Beta for All
Introducing a new Steam feature that lets you play your
couch co-op games with friends over the internet, together.
Now in Beta! With Remote Play Together, you can now invite Steam Friends to join your local co-op, local multiplayer, and shared/split screen games online. Up to four players, or even more in ideal conditions, can instantly join in the fun. Only the host needs to own and install the game, while additional players connect through Steam Remote Play streaming technology.
HERE'S HOW IT JUST WORKS
1. Launch your game.
Join Steam Beta, then launch any of your local multiplayer games.
2. Invite your friends.
From your Friends list in the Steam Overlay, select Remote Play Together. Once they accept...
3. You're playing together.
Their controllers will act as if they're plugged directly into your computer, and all your voice chat and game volume options are available in one place.
To keep things simple, only the game is displayed to your Friends, never your desktop or other Top Secret stuff. You can share — or limit access to — the keyboard and mouse. It’s your choice.
WITH REMOTE PLAY TOGETHER NOW YOU CAN...
- Play local multiplayer games with Steam Friends online
- Stream video, audio, input, and voice between players
- Use your own controllers, or share control of the keyboard & mouse
- Play together across PC, Mac, and Linux
During the Beta we'll be improving network stability and compatibility across a variety of hardware. We're excited to hear feedback from you in our Discussion Forums.
So check out Steam's growing list of thousands of supported titles, join the Beta, and invite a friend to Play Together today!
Wow. I was going to correct you but it actually says that only the host has to own the game. Interesting to see if this will get developer backlash or not.Somewhere, there are publisher seething over not having to sell multiple copies of the same game anymore in order to force online-only. Sure, Hamachi and other services have been simulating LAN over internet since forever, but Valve making it an official part of Steam is insane.
