Should I hold out for the Xbox version?
Should I hold out for the Xbox version?
Don't worry, they won't. Fargo knows damn well that this game cannot be ported consoles, he just saying the typical PR line to let the console players dream. Please don't release a console version.
That is what I would call a true disappointment.
fargo said:RPS: Where do you stand on save-scumming? I have to confess that’s how I rescued little Ralphie Parker in the end, because I didn’t want to be the guy who doesn’t save drowning kids, but was I breaking your puzzle there?
Brian Fargo: Because people are able to save games and restore easily? I’ve got you covered there, because for so many events, the cause and the action are so very far apart. So you can’t just be doing that. In many ways, a lot of the tension is lost in some modern games because you can save it, try it, not like the result and immediately reload. We have things that happen because of what you’ve done, a kind of butterfly effect, 2, 3, 4, 5 hours later on. You want to go back five hours of gameplay? Go for it. It’s not worth it – so you are stuck with it. Once that happens a couple of times, you’re really going to start thinking about your decisions. “I didn’t do that, and now four hours later this happens, I got to be really careful with my decisions.” Nothing makes the game unwinnable, we wouldn’t do that to you, but it does change things, and that’s just the way it goes. “I would have liked to have met this cult, but now they all hate me and I will never know what it’s like to go into this town and talk to them because I’m not going to replay four hours.” Design philosophy-wise, that’s how we attack that.
Or rather, they check walkthroughs and ask for indications on forums.Once that happens a couple of times, you’re really going to start thinking about your decisions.
yo bros!
I remember reading something about becoming a renegade ranger (if not behaving properly). Is it still in the game and are there any details about this?
So bros I understand the irritation from all the PR bullshit. But is the game crappy mediocre turd like I fear from the comments? Is it anything like original W1, or Fallout 1 & 2, only with multiple characters like Fargo implied?
Yeah, thx bro. I just wanted to make sure it was not my imagination.yo bros!

Yes. The only thing I know is that you get to join up with an enemy of the Rangers, destroy them, and then the game ends. Not sure if it's in the current build.
Van Buren looked better. Just saying.
I suggest you watch an LP and make your own mind.
Chris does it again.AusGamers: Is the original Wasteland close to your heart?
Avellone: I played it through two-and-a-half times. The half time I got killed in the sewers and dropped in a cul-de-sac no-win situation, which unfortunately was a bad game design decision in the original Wasteland, in my opinion. There was no way to win at that point.
AusGamers: That’s something you want to avoid with Wasteland 2, then?
Avellone: Oh, yeah. It was an old-school RPG convention that we don’t do anymore, and it should never happen.
Welp, show's over.AusGamers: How difficult do you expect this game to be?
Avellone: While Wasteland 1 had some hard encounters, it wasn’t super difficult. In Wasteland 2, I have found all the combat haven’t been too bad if you’re thinking tactically.
I disagree. Other than possible engine performance related issues, I don't see why this turn-based game wouldn't also be playable on a current-gen console.Fargo knows damn well that this game cannot be ported consoles, he just saying the typical PR line to let the console players dream.
I'd say not, considering they think randomized chance of failure with critical failures is a good idea.Someone who gets save scumming problem:
Oh I know that from a technical standpoint, it is possible to port it, but it would need a full UI overhaul, maybe some system overhaul to make it playable with a controller. For example, they would need to implement an over the shoulder camera, because you can't control a party through point and click on a console. Think Dragon Aage. I don't think Inxile will spend money on that, especially when I bet my right kidney that it would sell like shit on consoles. Let's face it, it is not a console gamer type of game.I disagree. Strategy Informer: So no plans to bring that hardcore side back with an Ironman mode?
Brian Fargo: No, no. Well, I don't know exactly what the guys have there, they're working on an extreme difficulty mode called 'Supreme Jerk Mode' actually, but I don't know – there's been a lot of speculation so I shouldn't say 'never' on that, because there's still some talk about how punishing that would be. Gamers are wussies these days, you know? Back then you couldn't save game anywhere and when you died you died.
can you kill children?
