Despite all the shit edgelords give it, CDProjektRed is still in my good graces, since W3 and CP2077 are both good games. So they shall remain until demonstrated otherwise.
Yes, same here.

What worries me is the fact Cyberpunk2078 will be made by a new Boston studio, full of dangerhairs from other US studios. This poses certain risks. I am more confident about Witcher 4, which is being made in Poland, by the main CDPR team.

I wouldn't be so fearful.

Heads of the CDPR believe only in one thing. Money. They won't do that much shit because this could mean ban in China, India or other huge nations which is where their januszex eye gleams at.

One of the heads even thought himself mandarin...

The Witcher 4 may not have Geralt after all: his actor was "slapped by CD Projekt" for accidentally sharing a rumor that he'd be in it, just not as the protagonist

Doug Cockle says The Witcher 4 is "a complete mystery to me"

It turns out that everyone's favorite Witcher could, in some far-flung outlier, return as the protagonist in The Witcher 4 after all, or he could be missing from the RPG entirely, as Geralt actor Doug Cockle reveals that he accidentally shared a rumor earlier this year that led to him being "slapped by CD Projekt."

Very little has been revealed about The Witcher 4 and the journey it'll take us on, but back in August, Cockle – who voices Geralt in The Witcher games – said that his character "will be a part of the game. We just don't know how much, and the game won't focus on Geralt, so it's not about him this time."

Intriguing stuff, but also, it turns out, not necessarily accurate stuff, as in a recent interview at MCM Comic Con Birmingham (shared by Geektown on YouTube), Cockle says he "went off a rumor," and he's now unsure if it's actually true.

"I did go online and I said something about this, and then I got slapped by CD Projekt because… I don't know how true it is," he begins when asked his thoughts about no longer being the main character. "I went off a rumor – I thought I'd seen somebody from CD Projekt say that Geralt will be in Witcher 4 but he won't be the main character, and I don't actually know if that's true now, because they came back and they went, 'We haven't put anything out there, don't say anything!'"

Continuing, he admits: "I don't know what it's gonna be. I have ideas – I thought I had an idea of what it was – and then I was kind of basically told, 'We haven't told anybody what it is, so where you got that information we don't know.'"

So where did that original rumor come from? Cockle speculates it might have been "from a really, really old statement that somebody who no longer works for CD Projekt actually put out about three years ago," but regardless, it certainly sounds like the current devs aren't ready to publicly commit to the idea one way or the other.

Either way, it could mean a few things for the upcoming game – Geralt returning as the main character is seemingly back on the cards, though it seems unlikely, and it could also mean he won't show up at all. Regardless, Cockle doesn't appear to be in the loop for the time being: "Witcher 4 is a complete mystery to me," he adds.

uh..... so wtf?
If they go Cyberpunk route with this: you create your own witcher from the new lynx school and it's a prequel game set in times when witcher schools were in their prime there will be no Geralt because he wasn't born yet The game is not called witcher 4 btw. its project polaris and it's a new trilogy so it can be a prequel...

Lots of red flags for CDPR in the recent years since Cyberpunk released:
  1. The ESG video
  2. Hiring talentless millennial American writers (e.g. from Insomniac's cringe Marvel games and end-stage Telltale) that are as predictable as the sunrise
  3. Abandoning their engine in favor of Unreal
  4. The Witcher 1 remake
I'll at least still keep an eye on what they produce for now. That's something I haven't been able to say about Bioware for over a decade (thanks for the engine for W1 guys!).

The Witcher (Polish: Wiedźmin, pronounced[ˈvjɛd͡ʑmin]) is a series of nine fantasy novels and 15 short stories by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The series revolves around the eponymous witcher, Geralt of Rivia. Witchers are monster hunters given superhuman abilities for the purpose of killing dangerous creatures. The Witcher began with a titular 1986 short story that Sapkowski entered into a competition held by Fantastyka magazine, marking his debut as an author. Due to reader demand, Sapkowski wrote 14 more stories before starting a series of novels in 1994. Known as The Witcher Saga, he wrote one book a year until the fifth and final installment in 1999. A standalone prequel novel, Season of Storms, was published in 2013.
The books have been described as having a cult following in Poland and throughout Central and Eastern Europe. They have been translated into 37 languages and sold over 15 million copies worldwide as of July 2020. They have also been adapted into a film (The Hexer), two television series (The Hexerand The Witcher), a video game series, and a series of comic books. The video games have been even more successful, with more than 75 million copies sold as of May 2023.

Note: For books not yet translated into English, approximate translations are given in parentheses.

Short story collections

  • The Last Wish (Ostatnie życzenie) (1993, English edition: 2007)
  • Sword of Destiny (Miecz przeznaczenia) (1992, English edition: 2015; while the book was first to be published, it collects later short stories and takes place later than The Last Wish)
  • Coś się kończy, coś się zaczyna (Something Ends, Something Begins) (2000) - only two of the series are set in the Witcher world, and only one of them is canon

Witcher saga novels

Standalone novels

Comic books

For the main article, see The Witcher (comics).

Cover of the Geralt graphic novel

In 1993-1995, Sapkowski's stories were adapted into six graphic novels (comic books) by Maciej Parowski (story), Bogusław Polch (art), and Sapkowski himself. They are:

  • Droga bez powrotu (The Road with No Return, based on the short story "Droga, z której się nie wraca")
  • Geralt comic (based on the short story "Wiedźmin")
  • Mniejsze zło (Lesser Evil, based on a short story of the same title)
  • Ostatnie życzenie (The Last Wish, based on a short story of the same title)
  • Granica możliwości (The Limits of possibility, based on a short story of the same title)
  • Zdrada (Betrayal, based on an "unused idea for a short story")
In 2011, two-issue miniseries titled Reasons of Statewas published by Egmont. It was not based on any of the novels or short stories but contained new adventures of Geralt. It was written by Michał Gałek, illustrated by Arkadiusz Klimek and colorized by Łukasz

Holy fuck a duck in the muck that's a lot of released shit. Any of it good?

So, the main series is about geralt except maybe a few stories and that last prequel book. I'll assume this new game is going to be the prequel or just some made up shit? Does the book author have any say or is the author a woke fuck too? Excuse my ignorance on Witcher lore.

Uh.... ok...

A few years before 2020

Whenever this was.... 2018sh

Battle Arena 2015 (not on ios anymore.. maybe on android like ya'll give a shit about mobile games)

Didn't even last a year. Here's a quote from the TW:BA page.

On December 31st, after millions of intense brawls, Battle Arena has shut its gates. Thank you for being with us–we hope you had fun playing!

Thank you for the time spent together!
The Battle Arena Team
The game was first showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014. It was initially scheduled to be released in late 2014 on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone tablet and mobile devices. Android and iOS versions launched on 22 January 2015, and later that year on Windows Phone. Servers for the game were shut down on 31 December 2015.

Oh and Gwent & Gwent:Rogue where decks cost a fuckload and mobile where it might be delisted?

FUCK NOPE!

Are we certain Witcher 4 won't be mobile only?

Witcher 1 is my favorite Witcher game. Also got the best russian localization. Good old times when psheks and rustards didn't hate each other's guts as much as today.

I lost my dvd but some years later bought another one and it's still unpacked, one of the few dvd's i have around from that time.

Oh and the sex card collecting still assblasts people even today.
