The Ciri parts were the worst of W3. What an idiotic decision.
It was very obvious that those parts were CD Project WOKE twerking their way up to magical mary sue girlboss Witcher sequel protagonist.

Gay and lame. And wtf happened to her OPness?

It kind of implies in 2/3 endings where she survives that "defeating" white frost at the end drained her powers or something.

Only one part of that rushed story that is stupid.

Same as an idea that super happy ending is where Ciri becomes a Witcher like it's some great job being exterminator and cleaning other people shit.

No one wants or choses to become a Witcher, well except for Vesemir but that is also added in a cartoon.

We all know how this will go, she will be annoying unlikable boss girl like Galadriel and game will be buggy shit made by pink haired women.

No one should want to be a twitcher since there are barely any monsters left. Geralt was almost starving in the books because no one needed him. It makes sense to have monsters in the third game since there is a war but at the end of the game the north should be mostly pacified.

I’m not sweating Ciri’s appearance because CDPR is constantly changing the protagonist’s look in their games and they never look like they do in the CGI trailers. Geralt didn’t, FemV got a dramatic change from how she looked in the trailers and even MaleV got some adjustments. Show me some actual gameplay and then I’ll form an opinion. Looks like Ciri will play the same as Geralt but might have new equipment and Signs.
Didn't she have that elder blood in her in W3? Having all those OP abilities? Why does she fight like a witcher? Just one shot the fucking thing. Also the dumb rage quit at the end. WTF....
Either they’ll say beating the White Frost drained her abilities or they’ll justify it the same way they did having Geralt start W3 with no skills and crap equipment: they won’t justify it all because gameplay > lore.
le medieval religion and le peasants... are le bad... and the real monsters... holy shit CDPR does it again
Kek but if you’ve read the books (which I have because why not), there’s a section where Geralt all but turns to the reader and goes on a pro-abortion screed while everyone else nods in approval. Witcher has always been as Reddit as any GRRM series. None of the clergy in the Geralt games was ever portrayed in a positive light, Geralt himself was agnostic if respectful of others’ faith, and W2 and 3 had literal witch burnings. Yen on the other hand was an r/atheism poster and it’s no surprise that Ciri may have a similar attitude.

Cool enough of a trailer, not as cool as the Killing Monsters one. I was expecting Ciri to avoid the creature's choke slam with her warping power from TW3. Don't really mind playing as Ciri, and a trailer like this might not actually mean that much vis a vis the game. Although, how she can use the potions, who knows, can always be some ass pull to put that in, it's fantasy and all, heh.

Game director Sebastian Kalemba added that because Ciri is younger than Geralt, players will have more freedom to define her character in a way they couldn’t with Geralt. This also affords the developers more space to explore her character.

“She's actually about to become the Witcher,” Kalemba explained. “She's about to actually form her own codex, but on her own terms. The way she actually deals with the monsters, the way she deals with quests, the adventures, it's her own unique way. And also I think that she gives more room to be able to tell different stories here and there. Of course, we want to give the opportunity for the player to explore more nuance because this is what we do. But she deserves that.”

I'm going to say it, Witcher 2-3 definitely aren't rpgs and certainly 4 isn't an rpg. I don't agree with the idea that you can call an action game an rpg because it has perks and loot.

I can't believe the developers of the acclaimed Trannypunk 2069: It's a Good Game Now, I Swear Edition could release a trailer like this, when there was no previous indication of them being woke hacks.

It's absolutely going to be heavy handed with its messaging.

The Witcher 3 had numerous quests involving peasants resorting to shady deals out of necessity because the world they live in is utterly brutal. Bandits, monsters and invading armies are a constant threat and regularly and unceremoniously rampage through settlements - especially those not lucky enough to have walls.

Geralt could be played in such a way as to be understanding of that. I don't get the impression that Ciri is going to be anywhere near as nuanced and her personality and voice acting seems disconnected from how she was portrayed in the previous game. I recall her stumbling across a child lost in the woods with a bunch of wolves and a werewolf nearby. She kept it all together despite being wounded, exhausted and did her best to keep the spirits up of her newfound companion. She didn't have an angry meltdown over the kid effectively being left to die. So it's weird that she'd not only react so viciously to the peasants in the recent trailer but let the peasant woman out of her sight in the first place.

Especially given that one of her powers is teleportation...and she's apparently prepared for a fight and at full strength.

If Geralt is in the game, I bet they will turn him into weak pathetic old man that fails and then dies like Luke Skywalker or Indiana Jones.

Because strong women are being stopped from having abortions by men who vote for Trump and rural people who believe in God and objective morality, so they're fed up. Women being kind is actually part of the patriarchy, which is why the father in the trailer stresses that characteristic in his daughter, as well as calling his daughter things like "darling" and "sweet", which are more patriarchal microaggressions.

Fortunately, Ciri is here to slay the monsters of misogyny and liberate us from the dark ages of superstition. In other words, the whole trailer is just straight feminist propaganda. I won't be surprised if Ciri and Geralt have a strained relationship that stems from some moral failing of his, at which point Ciri realizes that all men are terrible, unreliable people.

The "silver lining" is that the general public tends to hate characters like this when taken too far because they're completely unlikable.

I don't mind the idea of Ciri as main protag. If anything I think it could turn out to be one of the more iconic female leads in recent time. Overly optimistic I know. Hopefully the next trailers bring more sense of adventure to the whole project just like the ones from Witcher 3 did. Most of the trailer felt formulaic.

I doubt they have anything beyond this trailer. They were desperate to show something to shareholders, think fem Geralt aka- Ciri and Voilà!

You need really competent writers to explain how/why Ciri went through trial of the grasses, how it affected her when it was something for pre-adolescent males, who and how did it when that knowledge is lost...etc.

I doubt any of these questions will be answered when this game comes out in 10y

I don't think Ciri would undergo the trials of the grasses. I can't recall fully but didn't they steal the notes to the rituals in the 1st game or something like that? I think there was some mention about it the 3rd game about it, maybe a quest or something.

She's already killing monsters anyway and will probably have magic to balance the witcher quirks she is lacking.

Given how shit the Ciri parts of W3 was I can't say this excites me. It is possible that this could be interesting but i strongly doubt the writers will succeed in turning Ciri into main character material.

This certainly won't be a day one purchase for me.
