One thing though. So far i haven't found any modern sounding swearing. Were those in the Polish?
The Polish version has creative pretend-Old-Polish curse words. "Chędożyć" (plough, roughly) instead of "pierdolić" (fuck), and such.
Like in the first story when the peasants are taunting Geralt one of them says his ears must be full of shit while the Italian uses manure
It is as close to the original as possible. "Łajno", used in the book, is an older word for "gnój" and both mean "manure", as opposed to "gówno" which means "shit". However I would not have used "manure" if translating this section to English. In English the simple "shit" is much more appropriate, though I do not doubt a better word could be found with a bit of effort.
The word you're looking for is "dung".

I have some very exciting news

I am about to finish Underrail and after all this debate and discussion around W4 I have realized how much I miss the entire Witcher universe

I have decided to replay the whole Witcher series, I only played these iconic games once and I didnt mod them

This time I will use extensive mods

I am looking forward to revisiting the world of Geralt and seeing how mods have changed the vanilla experience :bounce:

When this game gets GOTY, sells 20m copies, and is objectively a super good game
How many years back is the anti-woke agenda gonna be sent?

That's some high grade copium dude.
Sadly, I think he's right.

Witcher fanbase is too big to be derailed in the way Veilguard was. It'll still take a hit, but the normie crowd have fucking goldfish memories, and will just buy off Witcher 3 hype.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 getting hyped up as "The New Witcher" may help though.

2 is one of the most replayable modern games out there. You've not really experienced it properly until you've beat it 3-4 times, the C&C is fantastic. Enjoy!

"completely new regions"
Lyria and Rivia? Kerack? Baccala? Nilfgaard???
I think it's confirmed that the new game go up north, most likely to Kovir, Poviss or perhaps Hengfors League (the violet land between Kovir and Redania).

If Kovir, then we'd perhaps get to see the great port cities of Pont Vanis or Lan Exeter. If Hengfors, there will be smaller towns, but more mountains.

Such unfortunate proof of people's mental retardation. Literally sold them a piece of shit that bricked consoles and took years to come out of beta, "masterpiece." Yeah, in fucking lobotomites. Ubisoft should just start making anime of their games and enjoy the good will.

The chapter where Dijkstra visits the king of Kovir was my favorite in the entire series. Really, the Witcher shines best when Geralt, his bitchy waifu and Cirilla Sue are nowhere around.

'member that part where fugitive Dijkstra, Isengrim Faoiltiarna and Boreas Mun teamed up and went into the sunset together? Now that would be a beginning of a great book. Or a great game.

I don't think the average codexer (median age: 34) realizes how much value name recognition carries in modern gaming lol

I was talking about the part about "setting back" the anti-woke momentum.

TLOU2 sold a bunch but it didn't set anything back.

I would say Hogwarts itself is more of an example of nothing getting set back. Sold a bunch, yeah, and i guess in itself is proof no one gave a shit abot shriekers on twitter, but otherwise it was such a mid game that it didn't nearly make the dent it could've if it actually were good and wasn't just banking on the setting.

TLOU2, meanwhile, only didn't do damage if you believe shills and pseudo-intellectuals. Cause in reality, it sold way less than its predecessor and for reasons that could've been easily avoided, but most importantly did such damage to Naughy Dog's image that their next game got very little good will going for it (again, with real people, not twitter or reddit people who are still waiting for the blue wave).

Though moving away from agendas, if you forget about what i just said about Naughty Dog, wanna say they are almost in the same position as CDPR. Naughty Dog's older and has has more hit, but overall both need their next game to be really good and sell really well, otherwise they are both two games removed from their best seller and the decline is set. CDPR could probably endure better a middling W4, same as say BW endured ME3, but either way it starts stacking up. Their good will test will probably be W5 or whatever comes after.

The game will sell decently but it will be widely mocked at the same time and the development team will order their minions to censor any negative feedback, further drawing attention to the dubious writing decisions as a consequence.

It very likely won't sell as well as the third game, as a lot of men simply aren't interested in playing as a woman in a medieval fantasy setting. They want to play a swordsman - there's a reason why 'male human fighter' is a common meme in any game with a character creator.

The Witcher is also fairly niche, all things considered. It only shot up to staggering heights of popularity with the third game and then it received the Netflix treatment. A show was made with immense potential and not only did they sideline Geralt, they deliberately made the two love interests 'diverse' and badly screwed over Henry Cavill despite the guy being enthusiastic and knowledgeable regarding the source material.

It was never as big a franchise as, say, Star Wars but even the 'big hitters' aren't immune to fizzling out with a weary sigh or outright indifference. I am more optimistic than most because a lot of the upcoming generation despise tokenism and though their hands are tied to an extent, if there is one way they can push back against this nonsense it is simply not partaking of it in the first place.

Dragon Age: Veilguard was desperately propped up initially but it failed to stick and many of those who foolishly bought it came to regret it. The Witcher 4 will likely follow a similar trajectory - for various reasons, not in the least because there's already a lot of eye rolling from the average gamer in regards to the amount of upcoming games with a female protagonist with the exact same dubious proportions, reduced femininity and the laughable angry scowl that makes them look pathetic rather than imposing.

Of the upcoming games, I strongly suspect that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Monster Hunter: Wilds will easily outsell The Witcher 4 and both are set to release early this very year whereas the latter isn't due to release for some time and by the time it does come out, there will be even less patience for compromised slop. Not to mention more Concord style games are set to release that will further cause backlash against such nonsense, such as Fairgame$ and
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Ultimately if the industry wasn't infested with ideologues and activists we would be seeing a new golden age of gaming, though nobody is claiming that it will be easy or immediate to root out the rot - they're simply watching the last gasps of a failed ideology that, as it always has throughout human history, will inevitably push too far and face a brutal reckoning. In the past, such as during the days of the Roman Empire, such a process would take centuries but in the modern age of instant communication it will happen far more quickly.

Arguably, we're already seeing it play out in real time.
