Arcania, definitely.
Ultima 10 pales in comparison

Guess most of you didn't have the ballz to even try Dragon Age: Inquisition. That game makes Sword Coast Legend look like Baldur's Gate. It's the worst thing that pops into my mind.

Not even close to any of these. Pools of Radiance deleted my hard drive twice and it's not even as bad as some of the shit I've played. Did you people ever browse Home of the Underdogs back in the day and indiscriminately download any RPG you could find? Because that's what I did and there is just some absolute irredeemable shit out there that is far, far worse than anything on this list. There was nothing good about The Red Crystal: The Seven Secrets of Life. Bad Blood is another awful game. I made a topic about the worst game I've ever played, The Holy Sword The Ring. So yeah, none of these games can even compete, not even the Blade of Destiny remake.
Anyone can make a shitty game in their basement. There are games worst than those you posted on the RPG Maker community and even on Steam.

But the truly horrific ones are those that fool people into playing them, into having high hopes - "OMG! A modern Pool of Radiance sequel made by the team behind (some of) the Gold Box series!!!!", "OMG!!! A AD&D-based Daggerfall-like game made by Interplay! And Chris Avellone wrote it!!! or "OMG, Ultima in 3D! Even farts are dynamically calculated and can make birds leave their nest depending on what the Avatar ate!!".

You can't compare that to paying two potatos for an unknown Taiwanese game with Link Zelda in the cover.

To all the Gothic3 defenders:

Got it full price on release, most anticipated game of the year at the time. Tried to love it. Religiously. Forced myself a lot. Fooled myself into really enjoying it. Became a fire Mage in desert (gothic vets will get it). Tried further. The fucking thing piled up with bugs so bad I quit.

First fucking rpg I really quit. And somebody mentioned descend to under mountain in a different thread today. That I just hated. Gothic 3 failed on me. This is when I truly cod exes. Out of hope and love, people. Fallout4 doesn't even scratch the morbidity. I loved once.

Well yeah, but in the end that you feel disappointed seems primarily to stem from the bugs.
I did start playing only when the coommunity patches were out, so I didn't really have these problems. And I really enjoyed the game then.

That would be Morrowind for me then. After cuming all over Daggerfall at least 7 times, that game was such a letdown. Way, way worse offender than M&M 9 ever was after playing the previous ones.

Arcania can't be that bad can it?
Trust this guy:

Man, he's a neckbeard but he could be trust worthy.

Gothic 3 burned the hell out of me. It's bad when a game (Skyrim) has unlimited procedurally generated fetch quests, it's worse when a game(gothic 3) has almost 500 handcrafted ones.

The game was cheap even for Gothic standards. At least when you want to quit, you can easily beat it. Too bad I'm going to replay it with mods.:negative:

Tried playing Gothic 3 three separate times. I always quit when I hit that cavern with the bandits that has a side canyon with dinky little goblins. I lead one of the goblins out into the main bandit cavern and stare at my screen dumbfounded as 20 bandits hack & slash at the teensy weensy goblin and the goblin hacks and slashes back at the big bad bandits and ZERO DAMAGE on either side occurs.

Haven't played any of those, though I did get the Realms of Arkania remake at a large discount.

Also, the thread should probably be about FAMOUS Worst CRPG's, since there is too much indie crap to even count.

M&M IX was a huge dissapointment for me but still able to finish it and had some M&M fun out of it.

Yes. Worse still, I was on dial-up at the time. Oh, those were the days...

Wow, the memories...

I remember when I first came across underdogs, it was a shopping spree (as far as dial up allows this) of RPG downloading. Some wonderful games I had never played before, and some unbelievable filth. Still makes me smile (grimace?) to think about some of those games...

As for these games, Ultima IX without a doubt. I was kind of mentally prepared with Ultima 8, but I thought that surely origin would pull through...all of the old favourite companies had died or were keeling over at the time (SSI, Origin, et al).

Played only Lionheart and MMIX from that list. MMIX was a better game overall.

Why is PoR so bad? I haven't played it but I was following some LP on YT a couple of years ago and it seemed decent. Definitely not in the same category as Arcania.

Strap Yourselves In Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Definitely not Ruins of Myth Drannor! To me it's a flawed jem - with some extra polish and changes to combat mechanisms it would have been one of the best and most faithful adaptations of an oldschool tabletop RPG experience.
:hmmm:
What did it do right?

I think this screenshot is a perfect example of arcania and the decline:
1837.jpg

This game feels like a facebook indie game studio making a shitty modern aaa rpg.
It feels so bare bones and boring not to mention the combat is somehow worse then all of those other games combined.
For anybody interested the codex did a review on the game:
