Look at Basso... I bet he will have a foreign accent. He looks like Lieutenant angel batista from dexter, or john rhys-davies Salla, or even that max payne 3 guy who is friends with max payne. And they are all the same kind of character.

So his bethrothed bride-to-be is now a bird?

This is like giving a Citizen Kane-rewrite to an 8-year old, along with the instructions to "make it cool".

What's next, Benny is a bloodhound employed by the guards?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Cutty is the only non-corrupt overseer of Cragscleft who gets put into a jail cell by his superior because he found out about his corruption and Garrett has to rescue him.

I find it strangely reassuring that they've managed to fuck up something as simple as Keeper quotes, which were always stylistically plain and to the point, none of this overwrought prophetic biblical tone. Thankfully they're not going to attempt "reimagining" the Pagan and Hammerite dialects.

On a positive note, at least Garrett looks less metrosexual in those drawings.

Crippled burrick inn? how can they name something after a animal that doesn't exist in this universe?

About a clocktower hideout, how cool is that? Beats garret being on the pressure to pay the rent and evading his tenants...

So the Keeper's in the new game? And they worship the Master Thief?

Keepers are in the game, and they're a society of thieves according to that one preview...

Why they decided to abandon medieval-style world for this victorian type is beyond me. If they wanted to mimic Dishonored, they could do it more subtly, and not like EVERY fucking detail.

Oh well, nevermind.

Oh so they went full Dishonored...didn't see that coming... They did that just cause people know about Dishonored and few modern gaymers really know about or care about Thief, so they needed a modern comparison. While Dishonored is a good game that rips off Thief for much of the setting and was the better for it(like a Thief set a few hundred years later), a reverse ripoff seems like a fucking disaster. Hopefully it will tank like the 'new and improved' Hitman.

Frankly, the trend of placing these oppressive police states in pre-modern historical circumstances is annoying in and out of itself. It simply doesn't make much sense, as these governments have neither the technology, nor the bureaucratic and administrative sophistication necessary to run a proper police state. This isn't too bad in Dishonored, where Dunwall is clearly closing on modernity rather fast, but in Thief it'll be fucking nonsensical.

I mean, what next? A Robin Hood game where Robin of Sherwood runs an impromptu printing press in the forest and distributes leaflets to fight the power of the sheriff?
