Vader means "father" in Dutch.
Coincidence, nothing more. He did it again in the prequels. General Grievous? Fuck you, Lucas.

You and another guy gave me a new idea.Time to expand on my joke from the previous page!
JarlFrank said:"They used me like a slutty woman... so now I dress like one while I steal their valuables."
"They sodomized me with leather dildos. So I will sodomize them back."
The City NewsBreaking news! We found out who is the father of the Garr4tt aka Master Thief. We reached his father, also know as the honorable Baron to get the comment on our news.Baron: HAHA Imma gonna stick this carrot up my son's butt ololoolololol fuck I've created a monster.

Well, your examples of the Sith names are nothing but the same, coincidences. Otherwise Darth Maul and Darth Tyrannus would have gotten different names to fit in with the theme
There isn't a name in the Star Wars universe that doesn't sound stupid in one way or another
How this ties into Thief...
How this ties into Thief... Gamall means "old" in Icelandic.
I know Thaif is a pile of dog shit but I wanted to rant about another shit series that's extra shitty.
as always been called that, it is his title. But then again, in the Thief series he is a background character, barely a presence and only mentioned in passing. There was no need to name him further. The Star Wars Emperor follows the same path, except at one point Lucas realized that the character needs a name to go with the title. And yet, that name doesn't appear in the original trilogy at all, it's ret-conned in later on. Let's give Eidos Montreal a little leeway here, and wait and see if they'll come up with a full name go to with the title before the game is released. As for the antagonist names in Thief? Pulled at random. One is Latin, another is Greek, and the third one isn't even a name, just a cool-sounding word. Likewise, Burrick is a large lizard that burrows into the ground.
In Star Wars there are no other themes present in naming, however one of my responses was aimed at your text which suggested that there was a naming theme, and that was the fact that you added the "in" suffix to the Sith names of Vader and the Emperor's Sith name. This was shot down a long time ago by Star Wars fans, either as an attempt at creating a theme which failed, or simply another coincidence. The newer Sith names of Maul and Tyrannus do not fit into this supposed suffix-theme, which is what I was getting at. All four names fit the "pulled at random because they sound cool" theme, but not the suffix-theme. Likewise, that "Vader" means father and "Gamall" means old in different languages, both hinting at a deeper meaning for both characters, can be written off as coincidences.
What my long-winded post above shows, is that Lucas can be slammed for a silly naming convention, but so can the Thief series. One uses made-up names, the other mostly uses pre-existing ones.
FixedAnd Count Dooku, which they changed his name here to Dookan, because dooku would sound something like "from George Lucas' brain"
To clarify this, the name Palpatine appears in Return of the Jedi credits. Though he is credited as "the Emperor" in The Empire Strikes Back.
The idea of the "in" suffix, You say newer sith names of maul and tyrannus, when Sidious is a name that came up in the same movie the name maul appeared, so, the suffix theory was already broken when it was first mentioned.

What? The "theme" i was referring to was that of naming villains using standard words, whether in a modified or complete form. There is no "suffix" rule, there is a "let's call bad guy with a bad word" rule, which sounds like something a 12 year old would do.
Fuck, even Obsidian followed the same pattern. Darth Nihilus? Darth Traya (she's a betrayer, get it)? Its demented. Just like "The Baron".

I just checked, and he's credited as "the Emperor" in Return of the Jedi as well. But that's the Blu-Ray version, which is the third or fourth version of the film, he could have been credited as Palpatine in one of the earlier releases.

It was disproven by the first of the new films, yes, but I'm fairly certain that the name Darth Sidious had been established in Star Wars lore well before 1999.
Not silly? I guess Yoda got his name from the yoga position he was more or less confined to in the first film where he appeared. And jabber means to talk drivel. So yes, not silly names, not at all.As for Star Wars names sounding silly? I stand corrected, as there are two names which actually are not silly: Yoda and Jabba. They're both short, simple and easy to pronounce.
Why would anyone mention him. He was a stain on tradition (what kind of weakling stupid evil is being fuzzy?)No one ever mentions Darth Fuzzy the only wookie sith.
Been a while since we had such a train wreck of a game, probably the best since Oblivion. Very entertaining so far, would lol again.
The most impressive new games I saw were Thief and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. The lead writer and a senior game designer for Thief gave a good talk at Comic-Con about what they are trying to accomplish with the story and game play. They are smart people, and the game sounds as though it will have some depth.

Maybe they gave him a contribution.
Too bad they're already founded, if you catch my drift. From Hero-U Kickstarter update

I thought sidious came up in episode 1. But if it was a name from the expanded universe, then george lucas wouldn't be the responsible one.
About palpatine in the credits, I may be mistaken.
