To protect his eyes from all the dirt and grit flying around in that dark and gritty city while hesprintsparkours over the rooftops.
This post pisses me off because i know this guy is using the word franchise in a console sense. You see lots of console franchises started on the NES and their gameplay usually doesn't change much between installments (fanboy would rage otherwise) so it doesn't matter what game you choose first to "get into" the franchise. Thief however DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. You CAN NOT get into it by starting with thief 4, because unlike console franchises where the gameplay somewhat got better in NES>SNES>PS1>PS2 evolution (fanboy nostalgia goggles notwithstanding) Thief is a "oldie but goodie" type of series where further you go back better games you get.Never got into the Thief franchise,it was just one of thoughs games i never got around too... Ill have to fix that with this release
Garret is now less "gothic" and more mainstream "For the modern audience of today's console market."
Hahahahaaaahaaaaargh. Fuck you, Eidos. Fuck you.
Oh wait no we didn't.
I still have to play Th1ef,

Garrett was an odd sausage in the original Thief games, an orphan turned thief turned betrayer that lost an eye. He preferred not to kill, although he did.
Also why the fuck is he wearing a spiky shoulder pad
oh why do i even ask
So are takedowns confirmed? I saw something about it on Softpedia but whoever wrote the article must be dumb as fuck because they think Ubisoft is making the game.
I mean, it got so bad for me with Dishonored that I only beat around two missions of the game and gave up (not because it was bad, but because the numerous options for approaching a mission overwhelmed me).

Yeah, I can see the problem here. Use sneaking or kill anything in sight. And considering the console friendly level design it's really sad. Probably many of those guys wouldn't even finish first mission in Thief.
Why don't they make a new character? On one hand they go on about how iconic Garret was and on the other they essentially scrap all of his character for whatever they think is cool with the retarded new audience. Nevermind that they're lazy fucks who can't come up with their own setting, can't they at least show some fucking respect to the original developers works and make a new character? Disgusting hacks.
indeed. Here I am pressing "New Game" and after that I am in some dark place with no bloom. As I'm standing patiently nothing appears on my screen. Where are the text prompts, what to do, where to go exactly? And tutorial in seperate segment of my game? Preposterous! I'm not judging the whole console players, but statement like the quoted one aren't giving any opportunity to defend themselves. And the lenght in time of missions, like 1 hour minimum for me; it really can't be done in this time and demographic conditions.
Or worse, they aren't as brainy as they used to be. Go ahead, guess who was the writer for Thief 1.But who's got the talent to replicate what Thief 1 and 2 did? The brains behind the originals have scattered about.
