Was it known before that there won't be any zombies in Thi4f? Here's confirmation:

This will be the least of Thiaf's problems.
Yeah. There are probably a dozen ways to make creepy, tension-filled or outright frightening levels without zombies. That's not the issue; Constantine's mansion was hella creepy, and it was populated by human guards. There was a lot of (ultimately wasted) potential in Keeper assassins. The question is whether the devs are capable of delivering that kind of experience, and whether the corporate side of the production lets them. And there, we can be worried until proven wrong.

What a lot of people don't get about Thief is that before it became "Burglary Simulator 2000" with Thief 2, it was closer to the old D&D definition of a Thief. It was about a guy who sneaks and steals, yes, but who also explores tombs and ruins, disarms traps and evades monsters, recovers ancient treasures, etc.

It wasn't exactly Tomb Raider either, and especially not gameplay-wise.

However, what it certainly was, was that otherworldly, deranged, bizarre atmosphere Thief had going for it. And despite all of that undead/pagan/apebeast ":mysticism:", it still was more considerable in its objectivity about the 'universe' than 'no undead because it hurts level design' or 'lol no undead in thiaf makes the whole gaem :M'

Thief zombies is one of the most disturbing zombies conceived in games. So little polygons, so much win. Fuck this shit.

Holy shit, I had no idea it was that bad. Are they fucking serious?
Did you read that dev info posted pages back?

They have AssCreed 3D artist as a game director, AssCreed 2D artist as a lead gameplay designer, AssCreed Revelations sound dude on sound and AssCreed AI programmer on AI. The most incompetent people Ubisoft had to fire.

They are doing an AssCreed clone except with completely clueless people at the head of it. Like that thing skyway was talking about 2 years ago.

What I meant was that I didn't even realize Assassin's Creed was that bad. I've always known it was complete and utter shit-garbage, but I had no idea huge groups of enemies stood around like fuckwits and occasionally poked the protagonist for one damage.

This is how Thiaf will play. Remember 4 or more guards can be the problem!

That is, until you invest in some kewl skills and get the group finishers or quad-blackjacking (triggers slowmo of course, for those cinematic feels).

While the Dark mod and TTLG still exist, man there is alot of missions that I didn't tried yet. Maybe I'm going to buy Dishonored 2: The Assassin of Thiefs on a sale in 2020 and play it half-drunk thinking how the world is a piece of shit.

Ah that. Well there's an even lulzier video of Ass Creed 3 somewhere where dude snatches guards one by one out of a group and they just stop for a bit without turning around... Then continue to walk. And he snatches the next one. Rinse and repeat.

It's even more ridiculous considering Ass Creed 3 credits have 40 AI programmers. What is their job I have no idea - unless scripting cutscenes.

40 AI programmers bro

Well, what I've read so far isn't too bad - you can ghost levels if you want or knock out/kill people if you wish. Sounds like they're doing their best to accomodate multiple playstyles. I'll miss Stephen Russell but given that Square Enix/Eidos have recently released a couple of half-decent reboots in Deus Ex and Tomb Raider I'm cautiously optimistic. If you're the kind of gamer that wants nothing more than exactly the same gameplay you enjoyed 15 years ago with prettier graphics you will no doubt be disappointed but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt at this stage.

One thing troubles me though - if this is a reboot why does Garrett still have his artifical eye?
