Suddenly, Splinter Cell: Double Agent looks decent, when compared to their promises.
Guess those little Chinese boys know how to treat the franchise, unlike Frogchies.

This is what happens when you contract fashion designers Frenchies to make games.

Put make up, black finger nails and needless impractical clothing for the sake of looking cool, change execution mode to be bow execution mode and this:

will be how Thi4ef will play like. You, know, those guards of the Evil Baron are begging for an EXTREME CINEMATIC execution... I just couldn't stop laughing when the developer talked about the terrible dangerous drones that move ablsolutely slowly to be easily one shoted

This will be one of the biggest franchise rapes in history. They will make this an action game, with the ability to stealth around. Instead of the opposite, making it a stealth game with the ability to fight (if you are suicidal).

And just like in many other franchise rapes, they will try to make the game a jack of all trades. I mean, they specificly write that they will make the game in a way where you can be more aggressive and fight. And they do this all the time with every stealth game. And when we rage about it, the stupid fanboys/doriton men etc just say that we are stupid, and entitled. Everyone should be able to play the game however they like. If we don't wan't to kill, we don't have to, but the possibility is there. BUT THIS IS FUCKING STUPID! This is a stealth game, it should punish you for not playing it as a stealth game. But no, you probably will be able to fight of 3 guards on expert difficulty with your ninja moves.

It should come as no surprise considering you need ACTION to appease the mainstream crowd, doubly so because it's going to be on next-gen platforms so they aim to get all the money they can. One thing that boggles the mind is out of all the possible genre hybrids they paired stealth with action, most likely "cinematic action".

PC being weak is one of the foundation of stealth games because it is that weakness that drives you into shadows, when i was playing Dishonored there was no NEED for stealth because you can easily kill everything upfront. Now in Thief you CAN pile up bodies if you know what you are doing but only if you do it from stealth and even then it is not the optimal way to play the game. In order for this to be as less declined as possible Garrett MUST be weak in front up fight.

Chris Franklin (the Errant Signal guy) has said that the true heirs of the Thief legacy are horror games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, because you are weak and helpless in them. I'm not sure I entirely agree, but it's an interesting idea.

Except, today's doctrine of game protagonists and design is all about feeling powerful and "badass". Stomping onto someone's face is just so easier to understand for the unwashed masses than tactful behaviour.

Only way I'm seeing myself enjoying this game if they have an expert difficulty, where killing=mission failed. Playing on expert should be the only way to play any Thief game anyway. But I'm afraid they won't this. They will have an achievement for not killing anybody, but that's it. And I fucking loath achievements.

Hey remember back in the day when you didn't need to use your magical invisible flying helicopter to take out enemies with impunity in order to play stealthy? What the fuck man. Where does Fisher keep that thing, up his ass? What is this, a fucking James Bond movie?

I don't know what were they thinking. All this talk about immersion, and this is the opposite of it. Who in their right mind will think about sending a cat-size drone near the enemy troops? I would never thought about it, because for me it would be just stupid. THEY CAN CLEARLY SEE IT.

what if ound funnier was the fact that, at the moment when the enemies may see it, he could just switch back, it makes poof and the thing is back at sam. nobody has to care to maneuver it back or be careful with it.

The first line of defense for the United States' first line of defense. It's capable, fast, maneuvers with precision, and most importantly for our stealth operative, is whisper quiet.

Let me guess: they spent all this time reusing assets from the last trailer to show this crap?

"I'm a Stephen Russell wannabe , do you miss me."

This.

I find it hilariously striking how VASTLY different is the guy's voice in this trailer, compared to the first one.

Eidos must have obviously told him 'lul bro ok try very hard to sound like the original guy in this trailer, kk?'. So much for ditching pointless nostalgia, amirite.
