What, loading zones on top of it all?
I doubt it. When NuGarrett broke into the manor using the window there was no loading, and that window is roughly the indicator on the bottom of that minimap. The one in front of NuGarrett on the map is the basement entrance the lead level designer (who actually seems like the only intelligent person in the team so far) used in the IGN video.
Also, Jenivere is a magpie in this universe.

Did you read the second part of my post? Even if this were not called Thief, this game would be shit. Everything about it screams popamole. If ever there were a posterchild for popamole, this game would be it.
...please tell me you're joking.

The ten minute video I watched did not look that bad. It didn't look great, basically Dishonored 2, as I said, but it looked okay. I will get something out of it. You don't have to... free will and all that, opinions etc.
Oh, FFS, it's Thief. Everybody knows there's now middle ground. It's like Dark Souls. It's being made by people who obviously don't like Thief. They are just creating jobs for each other. What's your favourite band? Imagine members disbanding, and some other dude taking over the name few years later, reworking the original songs and composing nushit.
Also Deus Ex: HR showed this studio knows to remove some guides and modern crap through toggles, and I hope a lot of the assistance stuff like glowing weapons can be turned off.

Probably will when it's at half price or so. Looks alright enough to me, but then I haven't really played any of the previous games (was always on my to-do list since late 90s and even have them on Steam, but shit graphux bothered me even around release when I played the Demo) and I don't have "deep emoshiunal engagement™" with it so I don't particularly care if they rape it as long as it turns out alright.Codex will lap it up when it's out. After all it's Dishonored 2.
It wasn't anything Thief-specific, I just generally couldn't fucking stand bad 3D graphics even back in the day where a head was represented by what felt like 3 polygons. On PC I played mostly other genres back then with 2D representations, Adventure games were my favorites (LucasArts, AdventureSoft etc.), Jump&Runs (Earthworm Jim, Jazz Jackrabbit, Blackthorne, Lost Vikings, Commander Keen etc.), mostly 2D RPGs and some RTS like Warcraft 1+2.Graphics in Thief are fine. Even if they weren't, refusing to play a game with great gameplay and atmosphere because visuals aren't shiny enough is fucking retarded.
I did make a few exceptions with specific titles like Descent, Tomb Raider, Blood 2 and whatnot, but I couldn't into Shooters till the late 90s/early 00s when they started not looking like puke with stuff like Soldier of Fortune and Jedi Knight 2 (also went back afterwards to re-play some other games like Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, System Shock 2, some of the Duke Nukems and whatnot, but Thief wasn't one of them).
Yes, I get the emotional aspect of it. Unfortunately Square owns the license and is not going to make a game just like Thief 2. I want it, you want it, however it's not going to happen. I could go around butthurt all night about it but it does my brain no good whatsoever. I hope we eventually get to the point where indies can pump out a quality Thief 2 style experience without massive amounts of work and budget.
