This situation is shitty from all angles.
Sony is known to be super anal about pathes and releases. So lets imagine that console port has not affected early stages of development. There is a good chance that something will be buggy and Sony says "Pls fix".And ofc PC version will be delayed because somewhere in contract might be a thing about simultaneous release. Furthermore I think some content will be cutted out because of bugs and time limits. (Naturally content from PC version will be cutted too). Oh and different interfaces just scream - bugs!
And if they planned it all along - do I have to explain?

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
I love how the first thing Devs always say when console ports are announced is "The PC version won't be affected in anyway!".

Literally every instance of a PC focused development getting ported to consoles has been negative.

What it tells me is inXile did in fact run out of money for their vision. They needed extra, and went to a company that has never published a game before (Techland are developers, not publishers - Torment 2 will be their first). The extra time isn't just to do the console port, it's to finish the game. Which again means they still don't really have enough cash to complete their vision... Which means the whole KickStarter thing is probably dead.
Called it in January. :obviously:

They were hoping the beta would raise enough funds, but it sold poorly: Steamspy says ~20k. The majority probably being backers already, considering they opened it up to all backers in June.
This probably led to Fargo approaching some publishers to fund the rest of the game instead of paying out of his pocket.

This has so many potential teething issues it has "possible impending disaster" written all over it.
Indeed.
  • Project Director fired from the company;
  • Rushed beta with terrible UI and performance;
  • Considerable content being cut: at least 1 faction and 2 companions so far;
  • 4 person party;
  • Console ports;
  • InXile and Techland x Codex debacle.
It also doesn't help that it has big shoes to fill as a "spiritual successor" to the Codex's best CRPG of all time.

Should be an interesting launch week here. +M

Fargo's divorce, Avellone's weight gain, Cleve's grandgrandmother was half Sapiens... rpg's wont withstand that.
:badnews:
We're all getting older. Shitty thing. Can't wait to reach 50 and pledge to kickstarters launched by a 60-70 old developer.

Also, don't know about you, but paying $60 million for a divorce would have made me pretty resistant to (man)children whining about stuff like console ports and misdirected money from fundraisers :lol:

This is getting a bit too personal, but holy shit. :lol:

You're almost making me feel sorry for Fargo. I'd bet she kept that RR with the divorce.

Don't worry bros from those threads linked to earlier it sounds like he learned from that mistake and in his current divorce is keeping everything including her 3 kids. Plus it sounds like she bagged an even bigger whale. So all and all doesn't sound that awful as far as divorces go.

I believe (according to an LA gossip site) Fargo kicked out his wife for cheating or whatever and cut her off from everything, so he's still rich and he has a new hot girlfriend too. He's also allegedly worth $60 million.

Shall I file this in the same category as your prediction of an impending Obsidian bankruptcy back in late 2012?

(of course, it did turn out in the end that was almost true...)
Let's just say I'm happy for my prediction record to be compared with Cleve's. :lol:

Eh, people who marry gold diggers with three kids are asking for it, IMO.
To be fair, all most women are gold diggers who pursue a mate based on their social status. Men like women based on their attractiveness, and we don't care if she's the janitor, an accountant in a shitty firm, or a millionaire. And we'll dump her and trade her for a new model if she loses her looks. It's the same for women, but replace attractiveness with social status. They don't care how fugly you are, if you've got mega bucks and / or a place in high society, they love you. The minute they can get something better, you're not good enough.

All people are shit, never get married, society will degenerate into sex robots and lab-grown babies. News at eleven.

But man I hate fake puffed up lips and that plastic surgery look. The car's not bad tho.

News to me.

But it explains a lot.

He's been divorced thrice actually.

His first wife Suzanne seems the nicest, though I'm basing this solely on the fact that she's the only one of the three who didn't work her face over with cosmetic surgery.
