RTwP is still the lowest voted combat option.
That's a really small sample. Wait until they release the backers-only poll and we get tens of thousands of votes.

Thanks Roguey, no one had the faintest inkling until you helpfully pointed it out for us.

Personally, I'm optimistic. The "main" poll will involve specific approaches of inXile's devising, not simply a straightforward choice between RTwP, TB and PB.

Anyone want to place bets? We should start like a pool or whatever.

I do!

How about we leave sexual orientation out of RPGs, unless its plot relevant.
And let's hope it never becomes plot relevant.

Exhausted people can sleep for much longer than 8 hours/day.
Do we even know enough about the game mechanics to assume sleeping will be OP means of healing?

But then we wouldn't be able to use RPGs as a platform to convey our message of "social progress" and "tolerance"!

“We’re not going to customize the looks. This is primarily an internal journey. It’s not dress-up,” McComb said.
:brodex:

His responses seem fine to me.

We do plan to have relationships in the game. I don’t know if we’re necessarily approaching romance, at least not in the way it’s been explored in games recently. There’s a lot more to the word love than simple flesh coupling,” McComb explained. “That’s frankly the aspect of it that’s least interesting when you get right down to it. It’s the interpersonal intimacy. It’s learning the depth and turmoil of another person that I think is more fascinating. That’s the aspect we want to explore with relationships with people.

:salute:
I agree. The responses were pretty good. Even if they were suddenly inspired to portray love, I'm sure they are the best alternative for that.

fingers crossed for Phased based combat...

I know you guys hate real time, but yawn based combat is so hard to do right. Every time I think about it I have Arcanum flashbacks.

also, i'm curious about the male version of the last castoff (inb4 that is the male version in the painting)

I have a simple solution. Next time you think about it, have Fallout/KotC flashbacks instead. Problem = gone!

2D or not 3d... that is the question. In reality, the issue is whether we are going to pre-render the scenes ahead of time and I know that is a popular request. Each approach has its merits and we are exploring the visual payoff of it now. T:TON gives the impression of a more painterly style and we are experimenting with that. We will have some more detail on this subject soon.
Interesting, this may mean that they're actually experimenting with the graphics to see which works best, rather than just teasing us about it.

I think Colin or BN said that we might see some mock-up scene (like Obsidian did) during the Kickstarter. So yeah, hopefully it's more than teasing.

I would love to see basic 3D models used to get the level layouts etc. down but then all details hand-painted on top. Similar to Infinity Engine, basically, but preserving the painterly look in the concept art. It would probably be much less work than doing textures and 3D models for everything.
